"Stay human? In the City, it's easier said than done.
Based on the best-selling video game series, Dying Light: The Board Game sees 1-4 players assume the roles of Runners-daredevils trying to outlive the end of civilization in the post-apocalyptic setting of Villedor, the last human outpost on Earth. There, they have to work together to survive wave after wave of the unrelenting, zombie-like Infected.
While maintaining an intuitive and easy to learn ruleset, the game aspires to provide a fresh take on the survival genre, offering both cooperative and true solo experiences. It boasts a sprawling, modular city map with spectacular 3D structures, interactive aids and hazards, an original, adrenaline-fueled parkour and combat system, a menagerie of ghastly enemies, and an impactful day and night cycle. Spicing things up is a dynamic narrative that sees the players struggling to stay on the good side of the different factions running the city, forcing them to swiftly adapt to newly revealed threats and rapidly shifting alliances."

Cancelled my Dante pledge and going All-In, on this, this looks like amazing fun. Already have boss battlers with Oathsworn and Primal, but dont have a Zombiecide game like this and this looks AMAZING!!!
My exact thoughts after watching this playthrough. Dante is out Dying Light is in.
Happy to help either way! Glad you found something you like. 🔥
I’m thinking same thing , I have too many games like Dante and nothing like dying light
Sounds like you know what fits for you best! 👏🏼
I will get this it's awesome 😎
Happy to help you decide! Glad it’s a hit for you 🤘🏼😄
Another great video! I already placed my deluxe pledge day 1 - but so good to see how fun solo mode will be!
Thanks so much. Glad it was a fit for you 😄👍🏼
Thank you for this video! I was getting this game, but this video solidified my decision! Such an awesome game and play through. Good job!
Hey!! Thanks for letting me know you enjoyed it. Happy to hear it. Hope you have fun when it lands. I’m excited for it as well. 😄👍🏼
Yesss!
Enjoy!! 🤩
Thank you for a great playthrough.
There are many interesting mechanics in this game and looks like it could be one of the better zombie games out there.
But man, those combat rules does not do it for me. There are so many talented and creative designers out there, yet none can come up with anything better than "roll high on dice"?
Hey! Thanks so much. It’s still in development so feedback is valuable. Out of curiosity which rules? The dice rolling? Would love to know!
@@RollingSolo
Yes, I am talking about resolving combat by rolling dice and hoping for a high enough number.
Like in this game, where you have a certain number, and if you roll higher than that, you win. It could also be like risk, where the highest number win, or in zombiecide/Arkam Horror/whatever where you get a hit if you roll high enough. Or the ever exciting rolling swords against shields. I just find them so lacking.
It seems like all other aspects of board games evolved and combat just stayed the same. I just want more.
But then again, perhaps it is just a me thing and it is as good as it gets 😅
Rant over and again, thanks for the showcase 😁
@@Magnoliafan13 You're welcome! This is fair! The prototype doesn't have the full loadout of gear/items etc. to use which I imagine will further mitigate dice rolls beyond boosts. I think the boosts were a very cool way to make the dice more dynamic and useful. Adds to the strategy options of the game. Rolling on the damage die could have an added tweak to mitigate. I feel like final version items and gear will tap into this more.
It looks luxurious that game has giant potential.
I have one question, the construction of those buildings and fences, etc. Is it the same for each game? And how it works with the scenario when playing again?
It’s quite the production but it plays as good as it looks! Construction of the buildings to my knowledge is the same but where they’re located in the scenario and how gameplay uses them will change with tokens and placement.
Prescott is my favorite miniature what is your favorite miniature
And it's sad that in the end it doesn't
even matter if you know the reference you are coltured
Honestly I love all four poses. They’re all dynamic. Prescott is probably my fav too.
I’ve been enjoying learning the game through the TTS demo but there is some desperately needed clarity for some things still. There’s an ability stating: end of exposure shift 1. Shift 1 what?? Where?! I think that decoy range 2 isn’t able to be thrown that far I believe the range counts the area you are in too. I’m an avid boardgamer and still struggling with some rules😅
Shift is in the prototype rulebook for terms at the back. It allows a character to shift from one zone to another zone inside the same area. Could come in very handy!
@@RollingSolo must be a newer addition since their scan for the demo! I really thought I could’ve missed it there but I’ve triple checked now and it wasn’t a part of the misc on the back, oh well I’m sure a full glossary in a fully developed book would fix most of my issues
It’s in there as that’s what I banked on for the play. In any case it won’t be an issue in the final version as there will be a glossary.
Glad you like it Jakub! Excited for the campaign too 😉
