The original is sublime and always brings back great memories... but hang on a minute !! You guys have just proven that it's definitely possible to get more out of a legendary track. Fantastic skill sets all. Loved it. Out of interest, do you ever do live gigs.
Chuffin' Norah!!! Bloody spectacular boys! I did enjoy that, Paul :). I've only just discovered you, (sheltered life, apparently!), and I share you with all my buddies, all old 60's chaps, still stroking a string or two.
The technique of Beck, combined with the raw, primal drive of Hendrix/Santana, and the fluid precision of the world class fusion guitarists. Brilliant, Paul! (Band is super tight too.)
Love this, great musicians and the feel is perfect. Have to say, i'm a guitarist so I came to this with the expectation of hearing some great guitar, and I did. But it's the bass and drums that make this such an outstanding piece, that hypnotic bass line is just superb! great job fellas.
Great version of one of my favourite pieces of theme music, taking it in a different directions from the Fender Rhodesy showcase that the original becomes.
Fuck me! I'm astounded by that. I'm not a musician, but I get it. An utter joy. And Jim is looking good. He must be what? 56/57 (I used to be related to him). Give him my regards, if you don't mind, Gordon Page.
Great version dare I say it THE greatest? Lol I compare this slightly to the Roy Budd heavy drum mix which was incredible for the time. What stands out for me is the outstanding guitar work and keyboard work the drums are crisp. The recording quality really shone it kicks some bass out (of course the double bass sounds superb). All I have here is a little Logic speaker set (14W) with a small subwoofer but your track here really pulled some quality sound from that system trust me I could "feel" those sounds. Well done anyway I will keep my ears open for more of your work on this channel.
What a guitar and what a band !!! Come on you guys, you should visit us in Greece for playing live(Katerini or Thessaloniki). However,Carter would be speechless! WOW !!!
This was awesome! I'll have to admit...I almost turned it away...thought immediately...doesn't compare to the original, but damn...when the chords kicked in I was blown away!!! And I guess that's what made this piece so damn cool...that it wasnt't the original but a "smooth criminal" complimentary piece!! Santana-ish!!! I will have to listen to this over and over again!!! Thank you!!!
Nice to see some lads with 'All the gear and a good idea' I enjoyed this more than I thought I would because I've always been quite a Roy Budd 'purist' Superbly tight rendition guys. You still playing together?
Hi there, thanks for your positive comments. And yes we do still play together. Check out the link from a few weeks ago. th-cam.com/video/VEHgVOV4nZE/w-d-xo.html
The guitar player ... is no longer playing with his fingers. What he is thinking comes out the amp! Everything in between, fingers, guitar etc are incidental, he's gone passed technique.
ABSOLUTELY *NAILED IT!* FANTASTIC EFFORT LADS!

Paul love this, thanks for posting, smoooootthhhh real smooth I like the riffs, is it a stratocaster?
ahhhh no TELECASTER
Kenny Huchison, Jim Drummond, and the man with the guitar Paul Rose that was simply marvelous. Was that your signature guitar Paul?
Thanks Mike, the live band section of this video was shot before the signature guitar was launched.
Listen to Janne Chaffer I can guess ;-)
Those curtains are shite but the music is wonderful. Thanks.

@@PaulRoseGuitar Well, LOL heehee.....but I can literally hear no bass. The bass is essential in this.
