I'm offended by the way rappers treat women. Should we cancel rap?

PLEASE let this petition die off, and not get too much attention! The ride is perfect the way it is! If it’s not broken, don’t fix it! 😡🤬

The racist part of the movie isn’t even in the ride

The ride doesn’t even have the tar baby or Uncle Remus references!!!!!! Disney is nothing without Zip-a-dee-doo-da!

I just don't get it none of the ride itself is racist it's just the movie also why are people complaining now? so in my opinion i think we should keep Splash Mountain because none of the racist features in the movie get included in the ride, that means splash mountain is NOT RACIST people can fight me over this as long as they want but i'm just going to keep my opinion on the ride myself. thank you.

This is ridiculous. Splash Mountain doesn't have ANYTHING remotely racist. It just has characters that also happened to be in Song of the South. The movie ITSELF doesn't even have anything racist, it just happens to be set in an era where slavery is a thing. The kid in the movie treats the slave character, Uncle Remus, with 100% respect. If we can't remember that slavery existed and that it was wrong we're not learning from our mistakes.

Splash Mountain is one of my favorite places in the world. I wish I could go on it just one more time.

“a lot of people have harmful feelings while going through the ride”

This would make sense if you actually saw Uncle Remus or any of the live action characters on the ride, but you don't. All you see from Song of the South are the cartoon animals, which had nothing to do with the film's... questionable tones, to say the least. It's pretty funny that only NOW people are getting offended by this.

I say just keep the ride the same & make a Princess and the Frog ride. Seems easier than reskining and removing all of the animatronics.

There getting caught up in the moment. The ride has been one of the most popular at Disney since it was built in spite of the movie.

Honestly I’m pretty upset that they are changing it but if they also change the nice pool water smell in the ride then I will actually cry this is not a joke

Did you know that James Baskett the man who played Uncle Remus was the first Black male performer to receive an Oscar for his role as Uncle Remus?

I really don’t think it needs redesigned. It’s never been a problem until now, so let’s just keep it the way it is. 🤷‍♀️

“Harmful” feelings and ties to the movie that made James Baskett the first black man to win an academy award, featured the vocal performance of Nick Stewart who did groundbreaking things for African American actors, starred Hattie McDaniel the first black woman to win an Oscar... this is all such harmful awful history, i just can’t handle it 😪😪😭
