This week Schony747 features SSR grain trains. SSR has leased 4 N Class diesel locomotives from V/Line Passenger for use on broad gauge grain trains. This will probably lead to the older streamliners being relegated to trailing units. Here is a collection of streamliners leading broad gauge grain trains here in Victoria in recent years.

Great shot, great video, thank you for the love of streamliners
I'm sure others are feeling the same way mate
Gotta love the streamliners!
Yes mate. We all love them. The crews probably not as much but the enthusiast still lovrd seeing them
Fantastic video as always mate, love the Bulldogs and the T's, P's as you know
Thanks!
Well done keep up the work mate
Thanks alot
these units were running numerous goods trains to all the provincial cities here in victoria when i worked on them looking for a pissy red light from the goods guard some distance back to do a changeover was all the technology then
That's a blast from the past! And these locos still just keep going on and on!
Fantastic!👍👍
Thanks James
Love it❤ in the U.S. they’re all museum pieces now👎🏻
At least you still have them and that's a good thing. A number over here have made it into the heritage ranks as well
Awesome video :)
Thanks 😄😄
nice
Thanks alot
everyday equipment in the eigties hauling real trains with brakevans i was all part of it as a loco assistant come loco driver
Some call it some of the best days in the railways. I'm sure the crews appreciate the comforts of today as well
Any idea of the gradient at that Woodend section?
That I don't know. Warrenheip is 1:50 and it's not that steep
why do we in Vic have 2 to 5 locos at the front instead of spreading them through out the consist, is it because direct wire coupling is better than radio control?
Best guess is because it for grain and at Kensington mills you can’t spread the locos out. Other than that I have no clue but vicsig might have something about it.
Not sure either. Maybe it's the age of the locos and rolling stock
