Nepali Gurung Wedding | Subash weds Meenakshi | Pokhara, Nepal | Khilang & Upal Kudule - Phedikhola

Our small and intimate wedding ceremony held in Pokhara at Bindhya Basini Mandir and reception at Himalayan Front Hotel Sarangkot. Meenakshi is wearing a traditional Gurung attire for the main ceremony at the Mandir. As part of tradition's this is usually gifted by the husband before the wedding.
Summary
It starts from Subash’s house n he comes to pick Meenakshi up at her house. Before we head to temple, everyone is fed snacks and the groom’s shoe is hidden by his salis(unmarried sister in laws). Only way he can get it back is by giving them money. This is a bargain. Salis were too nice. Easily settled the score. Then everyone goes to the temple together to get us married. Once thats done, bride goes with subash’s family to their house where his mother is waiting for us. - she doesnt come in the beginning as she has to welcome us home. And when we go in Subash has to call out for her as his mother will be hiding. Then his family starts blessing us- money, gold and what not. 😂. Once this part is completed, everyone heads to reception at Himalayan Front Hotel where the bride side is already waiting on groom side. There we seek blessing from the bride side of the family and introductions are also done from each side. Then everyone feast n dance. 🤣
