Morning Zane, that cat 3126 was used in the Ford trucks too...I remember a guy here in Michigan had a 3408 V-8 Cat in a late 70's Pete, hauling gravel/sand, haven't seen it for many years...but I'm not out on M-24 like I used to be....it still could be running...thanks for taking us along, your friend in Christ...GOD BLESS!!!

Great video man. Your image quality was on point Zane (you can clearly see the John Deer logo on the loader at 2:57 for example). As for the audio, don’t beat yourself up. I was chatting with James the other day that GoPro has always sucked with stock audio quality and they make it incredibly difficult to ad any sort of microphone. Your videos have gotten better and better with every upload! Keep’em coming man 👍

I know you probably hate the cold wet days but man what i would give to see snow and rain on the ground...its been a long summer in California and we are still bone dry...im watching your channel dreaming of cold winter days...how lucky you are....where is this?

zane my dad has the same truck its a 1998 Chevy C6500 he got it restored so its a 1998 gmc topkick now CAT diesel engine and a 5-speed manual transmission
I didn't realize that Matt. 🔧🔩 Nice catch. I don't work for this municipality anymore but I asked the Parks Department director. He said the gas engine developed a valve issue early on. They ended up sending the truck off to a shop that swapped in the diesel engine. Of course it was owned by a government entity so money was not an issue. lol. Nice truck none the less. So how do you like that 3126? I know you got a 8.2L detriot too like me and was thinking a 3126 would be a good repower option for my TopKick 7000. Just a engine I can turn up a bit and not blow up. My 230hp 8.2T runs great still though.
My 8.2 is reliable. I'll give it that. Never failed to start. I really like the 3116 and 3136 Cats myself. This dump truck seemed to have good power even when loaded. I've been kicking around the idea of swapping my 8.2 for a Cat when the time comes 🙂👍
