Felicidades ..... ....
I completely agree with you!
Sigh...only an unsophisticated plebeian audience claps in between movements. 🤦♂
Did you know that clapping between movements only became rude in the 20th century? For example, in his letters, Mozart mentions the crazy applause after a virtuoso passage (not even a part!) It used to be considered completely normal for the audience to express their emotions during a performance:)
@AnnaTsagarelli The reason, is because it's obtrusive and disruptive to the harmony of the symphony. The symphony doesn't end until the last movement, at which point applause is appropriate. The symphony isn't finished before then, so you don't applaud yet. Moreover, it's about intelligent civilized etiquette. You are cultured enough, and have enough impulse control, to wait until the end.
You write what you think, and I appreciate it. And I agree that the end of the part is not the end of the opus. But I don't think that the audience applauding between parts is a bad audience. Every person in the concert hall is valuable and important to me. I don't care when he claps, I want him to leave with a feeling of love with music. That's the one thing that really important for me@@Brooder85
@AnnaTsagarelli I certainly cannot delineate your gracious Goethean heart. I appreciate it. But, remember, the mass man, is kindred to the Last Man.
I think I know what you mean. But is condemnation capable of changing anything?@@Brooder85
