(I realise that your comment was eight years ago) anyway I just went to watch it because of your comment and WOW! it was definitely amazing, brought tears to my eyes.
I grew up listening to editors, i remember when Back Room was new. I think this concert and that one they recently did at the Ziggo Dome really capture editors as a whole. A band that is still growing (Lets hope for years to come) Long Live Tom Smith!! Viva La Tom!
Rick asaurus Must have been awesome man, I saw it was the 10 year anniversary of the Back Room the other day. I watched their concert at London Calling in 2005, that was pure raw kinetic editors, plus you could tell Tom was so nervous haha
I can't help it, but i think this is a perfect gig. Favorite band ever in my opinion! And okay, it's sad Chris left the band but the new guys did a great job 'till now. Editors sound a little bit different, what's normal, but seeing/hearing interviews with Tom, Ed or Russel convinced me they're still on the rails and very motivated after a weird year. Excited for the upcoming work. Thumbs up for Editors 2.0!
The moment during Papillon when the fireworks break out... I felt so euphoric back then when i was there and it still gives me shivers when i look at it now!
Didn't expect too much when I went to see them last year, but now, almost one year later, it still gives me goosebumps. The show was just... complete. Without wanting to be perfect.
Best concert live! Editors ..... This is the best concert thing I've ever heard!! and luckily I can see you are often allowed to live and with it.....! wink greatz PASCAL
Glad the fans are still liking Editors, i spoke to Tom in Birmingham and he was nervous that the fans would turn a bit due to Chris leaving. Was great chatting to him for a bit even if it wasn't about Editors that much haha, had a good laugh, top guy and very sound indeed.
If you look up No sound but the wind live at Werchter 2011, you'll see that same guy singing along and being cheered on. Pretty cool that they managed to find him again in that huge crowd :)
Thumbdowners probably weren't there that night or can't accept someone's own opinion. Anyhow, i don't care about that. I just looooooove Editors and their music! Thanks for sharing my impression mate.
Daaamn I love Editors. Saw them at Pukkelpop 2007,Rock Werchter 2008, Lotto Arena 2010, Rock Werchter 2010, Rock Werchter 2012 aaand I'll see them at Rock Werchter 2013 !!!
to behonest, watching this video is 1000 times less impressive and touching as it was when I stood there, idk if its because of the quality of the video and sound or something else but it was so much better in real and I understand people that see this and think like what are you guys talking about? believe me , it was amazing! best i've ever seen after Bon iver :)
When i see or hear a clip/song from Editors, i pretend i'm Tom and sing along like he always does. With power and passion! Sorry for the people in the bus, school, town who don't understand me when i'm doing that. I can't help it, i love'm!
This was the 5th time I've seen them and WOW, this gig was the best EVER! They were pretty good at RW 2010, also Pukkelpop 2008 was great but this one is fantastic!
When it was announced Editors would close Werchter, I was like what the??? Where is Muse? Where is Prodigy? Where are Radiohead? I was extremely dissapointed. But now I have listened to them many times, and OMFG I am so looking forward to this. Editors should be headliner on every festival.
I don't think this will be the final version of Two Hearted Spider. Obviously they wrote the original while Chris was there, but when he left, he obviously took the riff with him as they changed styles. Now it sounds more like the demo versions of Weight Of The World and Like Treasure, etc, making me believe that this is just a work in progress and they're going to rewrite it in the album sessions they're doing at the moment. Or maybe I'm overthinking it. :)
Ja, ik had 't gezien! Sowieso weer helemaal vooraan! En dan spelen ze waarschijnlijk nummers van hun nieuwe album, dus dat maakt het allemaal nog vetter! :D
i so agree with you mate.By far the most interesting band of at least the last 10yr... I love the sense of old fashion brit rock music they put with elements of electronic music combined in a proper and contemporary rock sound.Tom Smith is a great front man and no offense to Ian Curtis he will become bigger. On top of that I believe their lyrics are so intense and as Tom said he give the opportunity to the audience to internpreting in the way everyone understand it. Kind like David Lynch films!!
Thanks for the respect, i hope you've realised i also respect your and everybody else's opinion, although I may have used wrong words in my previous comment. On topic, I have the "chase and status live at brixton academy" dvd and i've seen it several times so i wanted to live something like that from as close as possible. Didn't care about pits or lights show at that moment :) Did enjoy the audiovisual show from deadmau5 on day #2 ;)
He was actually on the screens during the vampire song. Makes you think that it was probably staged, however, it was awesome to see him go nuts again. ^^
Yeah, I stood there too and it was fucking awesome, really great show (what I didn't expected, before Werchter I barely listen to them, but they really blow my mind!^_^) But, watching this video is still giving me boosebumps:)
As a long time editors fan, I'm not sure how to feel about their new sound. I can't tell if Tom is trying out a different vocal style or if editors is moving more towards an indie sound vs post punk. I miss the darkness in their sound that they had more with Chris, but I will hold off on judging until I hear the new album. I have high hopes, but am still a bit skeptical of this shift in play-style. Thoughts?
okay that's your opinion and I respect it, even though I don't really get what you are doing on this video then. Only thing I am wondering: why would you want to stand front for chase and status? If you wanted to get a good view then you should have stood somewhere in the middle, with a lot of pits. I was standing front row at editors, but for chase and status I went a lot back, just so I could view the light show well. I really enjoyed this show as wel as chase & status

Anthony Day-Grandin love black room. went to see them live a few times before that was out
Rick asaurus Must have been awesome man, I saw it was the 10 year anniversary of the Back Room the other day. I watched their concert at London Calling in 2005, that was pure raw kinetic editors, plus you could tell Tom was so nervous haha
I’ve loved these guys for over ten years. So much love from Wisconsin!
I was there, and I'm still speechless hearing this!
truly one of the greatest singers of our time

Fantastisch optreden. Was (en ben) zo blij dat ik helemaal vooraan stond! Een van mijn beste ervaringen ooit!
I was there; so incredible; so beautiful :)
I was there, too, it was awesome.

Awesome gig! Kon er niet bij zijn in 2012, maar begin al te hopen voor Rock Werchter 2013!
If you look up No sound but the wind live at Werchter 2011, you'll see that same guy singing along and being cheered on. Pretty cool that they managed to find him again in that huge crowd :)
Yep it's Jason Callewaert :)
Thumbdowners probably weren't there that night or can't accept someone's own opinion. Anyhow, i don't care about that. I just looooooove Editors and their music! Thanks for sharing my impression mate.

"Weight Of The World" is done beautifully by Smith this performance.
Amazing set, was glad to be there.
to behonest, watching this video is 1000 times less impressive and touching as it was when I stood there, idk if its because of the quality of the video and sound or something else but it was so much better in real and I understand people that see this and think like what are you guys talking about? believe me , it was amazing! best i've ever seen after Bon iver :)

Awesome, & they found the guy from Werchter 2010 during "no sound but the wind" - how cool. Love the Editors
Yep it's Jason Callewaert :)
@@GreySantiano44 He's become the face of the song, & a bit of a Legend with it.
This gig was the start of the end of Editors. First gig without Chris Urbanowicz the real sound of Editors
They killed it bigtime.. best gig i ever saw!
can't wait to watch them at werchter this summer as the last act of the festival. it's gonna be amazing :p
This was the 5th time I've seen them and WOW, this gig was the best EVER! They were pretty good at RW 2010, also Pukkelpop 2008 was great but this one is fantastic!

Epic show!
This is awesome but the video doesn't do justice to the real thing of course! Can't wait to see what the future holds for Editors.

every year the become more awesome...
When it was announced Editors would close Werchter, I was like what the??? Where is Muse? Where is Prodigy? Where are Radiohead? I was extremely dissapointed. But now I have listened to them many times, and OMFG I am so looking forward to this. Editors should be headliner on every festival.
We don't want the new album, WE NEED IT
Your username is so appropriate to how we feel about the R&L stage order
''We'd love to stay al night, but we can't'' Cutest phrase ever :D
thanks :)
That's so cool what a legend! Wonder if he was there this year. I didn't see him on the screens, he probably hid away somewhere this time haha
IT WAS AMAZING
love em love em love
I don't think this will be the final version of Two Hearted Spider.

My God, I'm ashamed `cause I was not at such as this concert of my favorite band :(
Love You EDITORS forever!!!

Papillon was for me THE highlight of Rock Werchter 2012, no doubt about that (my opinion)
Splenge's comment should be listed under the top comments!
You already got it, Optimus Alive!
He was actually on the screens during the vampire song. Makes you think that it was probably staged, however, it was awesome to see him go nuts again. ^^
was there. cooking the most delightfull ham with honey mustard or shoarma dish... enjoying the performance :-)
Beste optreden van Werchter! met als hoogtepunt Papillon.
