Not a statue that fits in my collection; but still a great piece of art. Don't remember the issue, but Alan Moore Swamp Thing 4 or 5 has a similar pose on the cover. Great video... was awesome to see it in video over the pics. For sure would love to see him coming out of the swamp if I had my pic.
Damn the detail within the base is incredibly done! The drum sets it off!! Now it makes sense with the pose he has because he’s in raged because of his swamp being destroyed and poisoned
I knew the bearded look would just pop with the scene, it just makes you feel the pain from the drum dumping chemicals in the swamp causing him to hurt that the land is being poisoned. I think it’s way better on camera than it was in the stock photos awesome piece and actually has me considering trying to get one now. Awesome review thank you.

When my dad made me get rid of all my toys when I was probably about 12 I forgot about Swamp Thing till a couple years ago. I have no clue what is and isnt a good swamp thing pose. This is a decently cool statue though if you’re a fan of the character which is who will be buying it - swamp thing doesn’t necessarily have the mainstream appeal of many characters we see more often. The market was already going to be limited. Glad they’re doing some smart business with you.
There are tons of detail all over the statue and the paint apps look great. An interesting decision also to make his left leg part of the diorama. My concern with the statue is that his body tends to get lost in the base. Too many of the color schemes are similar and that doesn't allow his body to stand out. Now this might be what XM Studio wanted. To make him look like he's naturally a part of the environment. But from afar the entire statue looks just like one whole piece with little differentiation between the smaller parts. Nonetheless, I'm still blown away with how much detail there is in the sculpt. People will be spending hours just looking at every inch of this.
I love it. It only needs more separated layers of mossy twigs and what-nots to add more 3d effect and interesting shadows to the whole figure. The surface is very detailed but it's too uniform for what it's supposed to be. Also, the pose looks too bulky and heroic, while ST represents the more occult side of DC; sadly, some artists sometimes don't pay much attention to the context and go for a more impactful look.
Thank you for reviewing this. The color and detail are amazing. The portraits, especially the longer “hair” one are amazing. I’ll be honest though, as spectacular as the statue is, I don’t like the pose nearly as much as the Prime 2 Studios Prime 1 for some reason.

Oh yea this swamp thing is really nicely done. All of the details in the sculpt, the anatomy mixes with all the vines, leaves, and moss is fantastic. It isn't the sculpt but the pose that makes him seem out of character. Sure you can say he is useing his ability to summon the swamp to his will. what if someone sculpted spiderman not swinging or wall sticking but posed flexing like the Hulk would be. You could say that he is just being overwhelmed by his spider senses but wouldn't he seem a little out of character. Still this does not diminish the workmanship and cuality of this Swamp thing piec. It is fantastically made. If you want him then just reach out through the swampy issues surrounding it and get it.
Damn the leaves on the body definitely did not look as good in photos as they do on here! Sheeeesh! Awesome detail! I’m so glad they went with the different colors and tones on his body instead of just going with a complete green Swampthing
Seeing it now, it looks a lot better. The attention to detail and textures are amazing. I wasn't sure about either head, but both are very good and whilst I prefer the classic head, I actually think the bearded version's angle suits the figure better.

Wow, this is dope. I drew him for the first time some weeks ago and liked the results a lot. This reminded me how much details I wanted to show but kinda opted not to. It¡s a gorgeous piece indeed.

So, he is angry because of the spill. Very nice overall. The second head help and you can display at lower shelves. While those rocks look awesome, I prefer the whole base more wet, muddy and sand for this character specifically.
That Dr fate helmet is so cool showing that swapthing is really strong than the lord of order. Is it me or does his head without the beard looks different with the color when you were putting it in the body or just me
If he JUST defeated Dr. Fate, then that pose makes sense. Really like the secondary portrait with the flowing hair. Great review, Gem!

Looks crazy detailed. I wish the regular head was more front and center...that's my only criticism.
I actually like it, the texture and wet look is great. I would still go with the normal head, looks more like him imo.
