But for real, I actually appreciate Harden’s offensive greatness. It’s been crazy to watch his growth over the past few years. Side stepping his way to 36 a night, I could shed a tear. But for this video I played devil’s advocate specifically to Daryl Morey’s statement. For every knock on Harden’s game there’s about a dozen exceptional qualities. But for this project we explored some of those imperfections. Now if you’ll excuse me I have some unnecessarily detailed charts to make.

This style of play will never win Harden or Rockets a Chip......he's a very high volume scorer. He avg about 16 fts a game and shoots almost 20 3's per game and 30 shots. Harden is close to making the scoring title useless in a couple yrs too lol.

Not much math at all. He did earned a BS in stat. Based on some absurd calculations of him previously, such as "optimal game time" for players, his stat does not carry much credit.

He is third all time in steals (4th in per game), he was 11 seasons in the top 20 in steals, he had a season of 131 and 125 blocks (1st and second all time for a guard, twice in the top 20 any position), he is 23 rd in defensive win share, defensive player of the year in 87-88, all defensive first team 9 times, 7 seasons in top 20 for defensive rating.

Great video Jimmy, as usual. Also worth mentioning even more is that Harden’s play style isn’t exactly conducive to winning. His game is extremely reliant on three point shooting and officiating, two things that remain stable over a large sample in the regular season, but vary a lot more in the post season. It’s easy to beat the Hornets and Pelicans while getting to the line 15 times and having a hot night from three, but being reliant upon the same strategy against the Clippers or the Jazz won’t work as well. All it takes is a lack of superstar calls against great defenses and a couple of cold shooting nights, and you’re eliminated.

James Harden can peak higher than MJ in scoring, but his scoring style is less consistent and CAN'T WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS.
He is already a better scorer but i agree with the rest
