GGG Patch 0.1.1 Armor & Titan Warrior Changes

  • I clipped out the section regarding Armor and Warrior from the Dev stream and added my thoughts on the subject.

    I had to drop armor and move to Cloak of Flame, then to ES as a stampede warrior by tier 10 maps, leagues less stressful and I can push content with much less issue and investment. Armor needs buffing really badly. investment is a huge sticking point for armor imo, I hate people that are like "armor is fine" while having multiple divines to make it so. Warrior is already incredibly starved for explicits on gear due to how much more you need to get going. Adding even more is just stretching gear quality to breaking point to needing near perfect items. Even cloak of flame, which is way better than your saying it is, and I used it for a bit, was leagues better than a full armor chest with damn near no investment. It's a 1 ex unique that offers incredible protection comparatively. now with ES I can run juiced t15s with little effort and only burning ground as a mod I cant run.

      I'm in Tier 15 maps doing just fine with life and armor. Supposedly it will be unplayable for me soon though or so people tell me.

    Look at any melee build online, every single one of the viable ones, don't face tank. Its all mid to long range style of playing. Melee build is up close fighting. Armor doesn't work, it only mitigates physical armor from single hits. Doesn't work very well against physical ailments. Whereas evasion works on all damage types and in most instances so does energy shield. Where energy field fails is chaos damage and you have a prime passive to cancel that. What they need to put in place is a passive glyph that gives armor percentage to elemental damage or ailments at cost of life or 50% of your total armor.

    Poison builds have a far better chance to break armor than warrior armor breaking. Its a little to backwards

      Weird, I break armor on all my attacks whenever I heavy stun which is on almost every attack.

      Problem is breaking armor easy but it does nothing.. since armor useless.. both for player and mobs.
      Only sunder gets guaranteed crit (on broken armor) but it is overridden by resolute technique and making it worthless even with crit sunder damage still lackluster.
      Exploit weakness gives small boost in damage.. but honestly you can get same damage from other support gem as persistent buff..

    Warrior is the most unfinished of all classes. Heck many Skills are not even in game yet. So feels it is just in a rubbish state where running or ranged attacks are the only viable solutions. And no one picked Warrior thinking "hey I'm gonna play ranged attacks" so it makes people really hate it, which they should. Warrior should be king of Melee combat.

      Yeah I think once the other melee weapons are in the game that will help, hopefully there will be better options there. It also sounds like they’re aware maces are not in a good spot so they will be making changes in the upcoming larger balance patch.
