North Yorkshire Moors Railway - 50th Anniversary Gala !

- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 18 ส.ค. 2024
- The North Yorkshire Moors Railway's 50th Anniversary gala would take place on the penultimate weekend of September with 11 locomotives expected in steam with which nine locos feature in this video. The gala would have a slight B.R vibe with former LNER stars also on display.
The four main guests were 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' returning to railway in its B.R blue livery which its most famed for on this railway. The second guest courtesy of the Great Central Railway is B.R 9F '92214' this would be paired up to the Moors 9F '92134' for some rare double headed 9F runs which would be a major highlight for the event. The third guest and one which would be a firm favourite across the gala was the B.R Standard 4 '75069' visiting from the Severn Valley Railway. The locomotive has a big following at the SVR and many have made the trip to the Moorsline to finally hear her working at its peak. The final guest loco which would be the Ex Caledonian Macintosh 419 now running as 55189 and this would be a popular loco over the four days and it would be seen on a handfull of double headed duties due to its low power classification but it definitely did its fair share.
As usual the homefleet were in attendance, we missed out on 926 Repton due to it being allocated to the Whitby runs and this was due to run top and tail with diesel traction. The other loco was N08 Lucie the little steam powered tram which ran on its own or with the Great Western Saloon coach which we sadly missed.
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway once again delivered on all fronts with an action packed four days of hard working steam and drama along the way and that's not forgetting the dramatic scene of the Moors 9F 92134 rescuing the failed 80136 at Moorgates in front of a full gallery on the Saturday afternoon. Many thanks to the NYMR and all concerned for a fabulous four days.
The video was shot over three days(Thur - Sat) I hope you enjoy it !

Can't beat a 9F - except two 9F's working together
Excellent camera work, spellbinding soundtrack, beautiful picturesque scenery ... what's not to like?! Even the sheep no longer run away 😊.
Absolutely marvellous! I hoped to go myself but couldn’t get there, so this more than makes up for it.
Also whoever it was at the NYMR that decided to double head the 9Fs, I salute you!
Wonderful scenes. Great photography. Thanks rmb
Fantastic camera work and the sound quality was superb , almost as good as being there ! Thank you for sharing 👏
Many thanks for your kind comment, we're glad you enjoyed the video.
Thanks very much for getting all the bits that I did not see over a very good weekend at NYMR.
Our pleasure!
What a brilliant video, almost too much for the senses to handle. Thank you for your effort and dedication to recording and sharing these events 👏👏
If you don't like the sight & sound of a 9f working hard. ..you don't like railways!! Fantastic video. JG.
Excellent memento of a great weekend. Thank you.
Beautiful coverage Mr Marsh. Great weather by the looks of it.
Many thanks, the mornings were lovely and the afternoons unpredictable !
The 50th Anniversery Gala of North Yorkshire Moors Railway. Well captured Marsh ❤❤🎉🎉😊😊
Great film. Couldn't make the gala this year. Has the NYMR upped the speed limit on the line 😂
Another great video and enjoyed watching. have a wonderul rest of your Monday.(Steve)
This is phenomenal! It's remarkable to see so many locomotives in steam. I'm from northern New England over in the U.S. and I have to say, you guy's definitely have us beat, just the contents of this video put our preservation movement to shame, needless to say, a trip across the pond is high on the bucket list!
Excellent footage there Liam and Phil. Especially of Gresley and the 9F rescues the Standard Tank
Pity it has been subsequently edited not to show the whole rescue, which is unfortunate
Thank you; wonderful footage!
Excellent footage ❤❤❤❤
Super nice video :)
Merci les amis.
Merci de conserver ce patrimoine inestimable en si bon état.
Et si vous les faisiez traverser la Manche pour venir faire le show sur le continent, vous auriez de millions de spectateurs.
Félicitations.
Fantastic video……loved the 18F shots just superb!
That black 5 run at 19:15 is fantastic, great video!
To hear 2 9Fs on a climb to Goathland is music to my ears..
What a fantastic vlog...
Nice one as always !! Top Locations, Top Camera Positioning Liam and Phil - You got it my friends ... Totally Top Team!
Fabulous mix of engines. Sights and sounds wonderful. Many thanks, great video ❤

Bet whoever was working 92214 on the double header regrets not fixing the lamp code. Will be on the front of every steam enthusiasts magazine 😂
That's a Somerset & Dorset lamp code, so it's probably intentional
That's amazing 🤩
Sir Nigel Gresley , recordul mondial de viteză la tracțiunea cu abur = 203 Km/H . ( O D - Romania )
How does the axle loading of a 9F compare with other types? It's big, but the weight is spread over a lot of wheels. Probably less than say a Schools
Steam rules supreme.
6:30 there's a switch with a derailer on the right?
To stop vehicles rolling away from the siding
@@AndreiTupolevI know, but I never saw a derailer inside a switch like that before
2 9fs on a local train is overkill and you know it
Better than no 9F's !
Some people are never happy . It was a gala great show .
its a joke about the 9fs ABSOULTE POWER i did not mean to offend anyone
@@MarshSteamVideosTM yes
