Nepalese Ojaswi Ghulu was only eight months old in 2014 when she was chosen to become the “Living Goddess of Panauti”, revered by the nation’s Hindus as the incarnation of the goddess of power, Kali. Now at age eight, the girl is experiencing a mostly normal childhood, attending school, playing and pursuing personal interests. But she is kept separate from others while eating or while at play, and stands out when she appears in public in full regalia twice a year. The youngster is worshipped for 10 days during the festival of Dashain and on Ram Navami, two major Hindu festivals in Nepal.

This is a unique tradition, and I think it's quite positive because they put these girls on pedestals-literally and not so literally XD- these girls live as normal as possible, but the people around them will try to make sure she's not hurt or bleeding physically because it's supposed to be bad omen for their believers if they're hurt or injured.
As for normal life, these girls will stop carrying the duties as soon as puberty kicks in. So they'll be able to live normal life as teens upward. I think they don't miss much when it comes to childhood- they go to school, play with their classmates, have hobbies etc. It's just that they must be careful not to get open wounds or something like that.
When they appear on those important festivals- twice a year?- they're sitting on high chairs and served like kings&queens, I think other little girls and boys around them will envy that experience instead.
