For all the hate comments I just want to say that get some true information first. There are only three days in a year when kumari is actually shown to public. She can do whatever she wants rest of the days.she is given education and her parents and friends can visit her everyday.she is treated with atmost respect during her reign as kumari in kumari House. And once she gets her period she can go back to her parents house. A girl reign as kumari for mostly 4 5 yrs. it’s just the age old tradition which goes back to 1000years and we are just trying to preserve it.

@@onigireee her parents visits her everyday and her friends can visit her whenever they like. There are some restriction but its only for few years. once her reign is over she is just a normal kid. And in kumari house she is treated like the Queen.Infact many former kumaris has said that they have very much enjoyed their reign and didn't want to leave the kumari house.

Maegan Barrett which is completely normal of course, after all she is a kid,but one must understand the fact that Nepal is all about religious hopes, stories of Gods,Goddesses,demi-gods,every monument you see will have a backstory so scared, that it can’t be changed or questioned now.A girl must, absolutely must sit on that Throne. The King himself bows down to her(well used to,now it’s the President).we respect everyone’s culture, customs and beleives ( no matter how outrageous or overwhelming it is) and we expect the same in return 🙂🙏🇳🇵

Stubborn or not, a teacher, or ANYONE else, are not supposed to beat a child in that way; that's cruelty and ABUSE!

    1. The video is very biased
    2. Kumari doesn't smile bcz its a sign of bad luck btw it doesn't make sense to say "she doesn't smile" . she doesn't smile only in festival which takes around only few hours which is celebrated only 7-8 times in year
If u can say by clickin one picture of kumari without smile n write with big letters
Kumari doesn't smile... its such a disgusting way to disrespect othrs traditions.... 🤦‍♀️
    2. Kumari are not forced to be kumari

How is smiling disrespectful? I never would of thought that. I thought people smile cause they are happy or want to be happy, a way to let people know you are friendly by smiling. If you are in a place where you dont know anyone and are lost , who are you going to ask for directions ? A person who is smiling or a person who is frowning?? Really??

    • @jadedmind7634
      @jadedmind7634 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Do you really think it's okay to tell a child she can't smile for years? Or talk to anyone but her family? Not let her feet touch the ground? Not eat whatever she wants? The fact that it's seen as a positive and happy thing is really the problem here. No child should ever have their smile taken away, their food choices, their ability to move around freely. Doesn't matter if people love her, or respect her or anything else. Of course they're going to say they are happy they did it and wanted to because if they don't their families will probably be angry and disown them.

Becca as a kumari, she is not supposed to show any kind of external emotions.. Maybe that's the reason.. There once was a king who used to play a game of dice with Goddess Taleju.. The Goddess could be seen by him only.. Once while they were playing dice, the Queen opened the door and saw the Goddess.. And the Goddess then vanished from the King's site but promised to appear in the form of a Kumari girl. The selection process for this is that she should not have bled or have any markings and scars on her body even if its due to some injuries before the selection process. There are around 32 particular characters she must possess.

We all might have different opinions, but its never right to call a community's tradition that has been going on for years stupid just after watching a 5 minute video. There is nothing great about Kumari culture. In a real sense, the virgin girls were offered to make the imperial monarchy happy(i.e, at the time kings, were considered as incarnated gods), then it turned out to be a notarized culture of servitude considered celebratory. Whether it was about the manifestation of feminine virginity or mere loyalty to the king, both of these don't matter in the face of the fact that it was conducted by a bunch of male normative impetuses who were to determine the definition of female virginity in their own terms. This proves where the institutionally structural side of our struggles for gender equality is not upon the horizon!
Who are these people? Who are these people to yardstick feminine subjectivity in terms of virginity? What does virginity even mean? Who defines it?
It may appear now as the culture of a particular community and a matter of pride but its signification deep down is political and authoritarian.

Many comments below here believe things can never get sexist through religious traditions! In their ideologies, all they do is turn blind eye to the discriminatory side of culture and religion! And assume everything to be ok!
In fact, Kumari tradition is an offshoot of Hindu tradition brought up and evolved through monarchy and imperialism. It has origins in the patriarchal subjugation of women and the indigenous community as a whole! Whether it is about virgin women or manifestation of female energy( Durga or whatever) it did start positing a female child up to something she is incapable of grasping about! Consensual or non- Consensual ! I do not need to give sources, cuz there is enough to prove discriminatory and authoritarian sides of it!

7 NOW WHAT DOES THIS MESSAGE OF THE LAMB SAY? This Message says that we are no longer in the evening time but at midnight. However, it is the same age and the same Spirit of Elijah, but a "New" Message which is a high scope of the one of the evening time. Zechariah 14:7 is therefore different from Matthew 25:6.
8 This Message says that the world council of churches, the ecumenical council of churches, associations, unions, federations and confederations of churches ... Catholic churches, orthodox churches, Methodist churches, Eckankar, the sect of Horus, Lutheran churches, Anglican churches, Mahikari, Baptist churches, Rosicrucianism, Nazarene churches, Scientology, esotericism, Anabaptist churches, Voodoo, Adventist churches, companions of Jesus, Emmaus mission, Inner Life, Jehovah’s witnesses, witnesses of Jesus, foursquare churches.
9 Freemasons, Pentecostal churches, the worship of Inca gods, Protestant churches, Krishna, the church of Christ, transcendental meditation, the Grail, spiritualists, evangelical churches, Mormons, Guru Maharaja, Islam and Judaism and all the so-called revealed or restored churches… prayer camps, monasteries, convents, missions and ministries including the Branhamists, that is to say, those who still follow the Message of William Branham, even in its purity, are purgatories and nets of Satan to send mankind to hell and the spirits that act in those churches are not the Holy Spirit, but demons of seduction. Those are the same demons that were in the rivers, creeks, masks, Voodoo, forests and sacred groves, customs and traditions and which raised up traditional fetish priests. [Kc.10v1]
10 This Message says that Islam, Christianity and Judaism are the three spirits of frog in Revelation 16:13. These three religions claim to be of Abraham. These three religions believe in Moses. These three religions do not believe in living prophets but each claims to be of a prophet that it did not know. Each of them has its own holy book. And all three are waiting for the Messiah. They are the three spirits of frog in Revelation 16:13. This Message says that they are the same demons that raised up Elvis Presley, Bob Marley, James Brown, Madonna, Papa Wemba that have raised up, today, those Christian groups and singers like Tabitha Lemaire, Don Moen, Exo Eclats, Yolanda Adams and Celine Dion... [Kc.59v33] [Kc.113v10] [Kc.118v11] [Kc.131v4]
And today, it is with all the Bible that the whole world is rejecting Prophet Kacou Philippe!

God will come down and bring judgement to the world in revelation at the end time. We are living in the last day, people can choose to do their ways of culture and Goddess etc. GOD WIll DESTROY THOSE WHOM WORSHIP IDOLS AND THE BLACK STONE OR MAKE THEM SELF A GOD. JESUS Said in JOHN 14:6 "I am the way, the truth and the life. NO one comes to the father except through me." And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true--in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life. John 5:20

Rose we should not comment about other religion, because, we don't know about other religions what God means to them. You are looking them as idols, but you don't know what they are.
You can comment on your mother, but don't try to comment others mother, because you don't know what others mother means.
You read all the books what that idol means then you understand at least a little bit.
