What's the best yoyo I should get?
Robert S I would say the sage with the unresponsive barring for string tricks. It would sleep a lot longer on the string. In fact I’m thinking about buying one tomorrow.
I just gave up my yoyo string is almost double of yours and ive pravtice for about 4 hours

I just got my hands on this yo-yo, and it is REALLY cool! It's the size of a quarter! And it's unresponsive. The string is actually shorter and thinner than normal yo-yo string, so binds will need to be adjusted accordingly. Also, because of its size, it can be difficult to land this yo-yo on any strings, but it's possible, and if you do master the tricks and (maybe) variations of said tricks on the Mighty Flea, you've pretty much mastered the trick completely, and that will give a huge sense of satisfaction.

Your really a master and a great teacher, in my first few attempts I was doing everything wrong, making the exact mistakes that you've shown - my strings were misaligned, the yoyo was bouncing all over the place and I couldn't keep it in between the lines.
Uncurling my middle finger was the first I've fixed, and I found that sticking it with my index finger made the strings at the top aligned, but my other hand kept moving with the force of the yoyo, so I "clipped" the bottom string in between the space between the joints of my index and middle finger so it didn't move anywhere. Finally, I kept repeating "dun dun dun" to myself until it just worked out. Thank you for the amazing tips

I finally got this "feeling" you're talking about today! :D I still need to perfect it, but I am able to consistently land the boingy boing now after watching this video. For me, I tried with different yoyos, but I actually found it easier to do and learn on the Magicyoyo Z02 The Chosen. I have no idea why, but I tried it on a variety of other yoyos and I was struggling, when switching to this one, I was able to land it fairly quickly. Maybe the balance and weight of it?
my kids love yoyos they play with them all the time now that they now trix from this amazing show.

Do you pinch the string between your first finger and middle (yoyo) finger?
I've been learning tricks with a string that was too long until today, I adjusted the string length to be shorter and it's MUCH easier to land boingy boing now.
I can't wait until I can finally do combos and stuff!! Few more weeks!

I started yoyoing about 2 months ago.. took about 2 weeks to really get this trick consistently
When I'm practicing this trick. I keep thinking the motion of this trick and make it slow mo in my brain, after few day I can do this trick!

This took me years to learn, biggest tips I can give someone was my biggest mistakes, dont be aggressive, I found learning the motion could make you want to do that. Your non throw hand should not move, and the motion from your throw hand is less like going up and down, and more so down and back to its original position, you dont want to shake the whole mount. Watching players do this trick can help as well, paying attention to exactly what each hand is doing.
Took years to learn this? With or without tutorial? It’s not too complicated so idk how it took years to learn unless you’re including time before you did this trick. Also thanks for tips not trying to attack you or anything just confused.

im confuse to where when u say go up and down to get the motion i tried it and the yoyo doesnt go foward and backward but just go up and down
watching this makes me remember of my childhood
when i start the up and down motion it will go back and forth once then it like goes side to side and it messes everything up and I dont know why that is happening.

Does it still count as boingy-boing if I do it by moving my right hand index finger up and down rather than my whole arm? I have trouble doing it with arm but I can do it with finger easily

when im in the key chain mount and put my hand straight up and down the yo yo goes staright up and down thoughts?
You have to launch the first bounce forward by doing Up&Back motion, then the rest the hand does Up/Down only. Try to make it a strict movement when you do the up&down so it will look good when you learn it.
Also to make it easier, all you are doing is keeping the first bounce you did (with Up&Back) alive by doing Up&Down after that one.

I nailed it first day, 🎉 I did practice for 3 hours straight though.
I have multiple questions:
1: Is it more difficult to achieve boingy boing if I use a heavy ish yoyo such as the the replay?
2: Can't the friction between the string and the finger be painful?
3: Just out of curiosity, how long did it take you to master this trick the first time?

2. For this trick, no... at least it would be incredibly unusual.
3. Don't remember.
Also i have a problem where when i attempt the trick, when i pull my hand up, the friction between the string and my hand causes the string to not slide over my fingers like it should, as if it was stuck with glue until i manage to make it jerk a little. I there anyway i can fix this? I tried changing the string and it didn't work.

Is the iceberg or the Horizon better I've read descriptions and watched reviews on them and they both seem to be what I'm looking for in a yoyo... Any advice?
what exactly are you looking for in a yoyo
Something that's good for horizontal , speed Combos and finger spins... preferably something with a small diameter
Iceberg, horizon has a larger diameter and it's harder to do fingerspins than anything with a dimple. It's a decent mover but more reluctant to get going than most of mine. Iceberg is definitely a better choice for those criteria
Actually, consider the Yoyofficer Yacare in addition to both of those, more affordable than either and apparently great as well for horizontal/fingerspins. Duncan Windrunner is also notable in those areas. Both of these have smaller diameters than the two you listed as well.
I cant do the motion of your hands how to do thay
Can anyone help my slip knot is all over the place on my finger. Ill throw the yoyo and do anything and all the sudden the slip has shifted to the side or even the top of my finger.. is this normal? Ive never had this issue with any other yoyo string until i started using unresponsive yoyos.. 🤔 I pull it as had as i can and try and cut of my finger circulation and its still ending up on the sides and top of my finger lol

the way i do it is that i check that everything is right then i boing to the other side then check then i keep going faster untill i get confused then i go again at that speed hope this helped :)
Also how do you just thro the yoyo up and it rolls it self up if it is responsive i can do iy but not unresponsive

I do everything correctly before the trick but when i go and actually try the trick i can not get the rythm down and then the yoyo just jiggles around and does nothing or it just boings to the side. Any tips?
Have you tried going into a split bottom but instead of continuing the motion you instead pull your hands apart then together over and over again. It worked for me

If you are getting a good yoyo, like the one's we recommend in that video, sleep times are irrelevant, because they all sleep so long it makes no difference in what tricks you can perform. If you want a yoyo that sleeps as long as possible, just make sure you get an unresponsive yoyo.
can you describe all the steps to get into that mount?
I would suggest downloading this video, and some mount videos on youtube and playing it on slow speed. This worked for me.

Only if you threw a breakaway first, so in most cases, no.

The yoyo in this video is responsive, but it can be done with either a responsive or an unresponsive yoyo.
