I've been yoyoing for years on an off. Getting back into it now, always wondered how people did speed combos and this vid just unlocked so much for me, thank you!
Please make more of these videos, the kind that can help prepare someone for a yoyo competition. This is super helpful in understanding how to construct a routine. Maybe even breakdown a champion performance into all the individual tricks and how they are linked together. The responsibility for training the next generation of tournament level yoyo players rest within your hands.
I started with a Sage and it's a great beginner throw, but it always amazes me when he does these long combos with it.
I wasn't in love with mine. I am interested in trying the redesign, though.

This REALLY takes me back in the day when I loved yo you.
My favorite was a "Dukes of Hazzard" "General Lee" Tire yo yo. It was a Butterfly yo yo if I recall the model name correctly. 😉

So I was really struggling with this one, particularly exiting the 1 and a half mount back on the string. The string is not aligned with your yoyo hand, yoyo finger bent in like it is for 90% of the trick... but upon further analyzing Adam doing it in the video, he actually either half extends his yoyo finger out, or fully extends it when going to the 1.5 mount or even sometimes the kamikaze to help the string align. I've spent a lot of time getting the string high up on the finger to help this, but I think learning to extend and retract the finger how Adam is doing it, will be more ideal. At least, it's no worse than Adam who is much beyond my capabilities right now!

Been working on this all month. Decided to use an uncut string with my short self. While it’s working a bit better, I still can’t do the kamikaze variation mount. Nothing some more practice won’t fix!!

8:15 My yoyo is still binding sometimes when I do this. Is there any other tip? What could be tge reason? Do I need the yoyo to spin faster? Does any angle of the yoyo cause this bind? I dont have any idea what I could do different to keep it from binding. Help would be appreciated.

No matter what I do every time I go from double or nothing back to sub mount the yo-yo binds. I’ve tried the tips you gave in this vid to stop it from binding but it continues to bind anyway. Any help?

How do you maintain keeping the yoyo spinning for a long time??
I just got a Magic yoyo silencer after a few years away from the hobby. I can do the simple bind and also the plastic whip, but I'm not sure where to begin now.
They have level up system that will help you build up.
I can't get the yoyo to spin long enough. Even if it's a good one in very good condition.

@@yotricks I just want to thank you for everything you have done for the yo-yo community. Around 2 years ago, I stumbled upon your videos and my life completely changed. When you yo-yo, it's almost like a form of zen, for some reason, it reduces my stress dramatically (unless I'm learning a trick.) What's nice about once you get through the first couple of motions, you start to experiment on your own and then the fun really begins.

The Canon does play a little better overall than the Snack, particularly since it is a full sized yoyo designed specifically for performance.

I was learning the Paul Kerbel's neck bind and the back of my neck was hurting. Which was okay. After a good night sleep everything was fine. Now after a few days my neck started hurting in front, and it's a lot worse. Any help???

I’ve started out on a velocity and been going for about 4 days, I feel like I got pretty decent in the short amount of time I been throwing it. I was just wondering how beneficial buying some lube for it would be?
The lube will just keep the bearing working longer. With smaller bearing yoyos like the Velocity it is not a major concern right away, but you will want to lube it eventually, or else the bearing will turn responsive.

ElementalHeroJoe Nope. If the string is long enough to form mounts with enough distance between your hands, you should be fine.
Dude when i was a little kid they told me to use this belly rule, and it was awful, if you see evan nagaos videos he is pretty short and use a long string! but if you see Dylam kowiosalwiaisjjwik he is also short and uses a short string! what im trying to say is, dont be stuck in the rule (specially when yoyoing ;)

My biggest problem is the yoyo starts tilting and then not going straight sometimes it does it even after I got rid of the string tension.

D5 the world unresponsive is better because you can do more tricks with it

Does the yoyo need more string length while doing speed combos?
i´m still a beginner but it looks like the string is way longer than the one i use which is from the belly button to the floor.
It does help for it to be a little longer.

DAMTZD I would start with a full length string then make it shorter and shorter until it is working how you like.

What I do is I pull off a few these and when I dismount from them I pull a gt looks awesome as a finisher

Lube it up
Lube is most likely not going to help that problem. If you're losing spin when you land on the string, it's most likely because you're not keeping your hands in line to keep the string from touching the sides. That's going to be the main culprit of spin loss, not lack of lube.
And what is the best way to fix that
N0Place Sorry man, thought I'd responded to this already. The best way to fix it is simply to keep your hands lined up while doing tricks, keep the string straight so that it touches the sides of the yoyo as little as possible while the yoyo is on the string. Lower walled V-shaped or H-shaped yoyos will help you do this more easily, whereas organic (more rounded) yoyos make it more difficult. Organic yoyos have their benefits, too, but when it comes to string play, you just have to be a little more precise with them. Which actually helps you become a better player in the long run.

salar jabar the Yoyo that he is using is the sage. It’s a plastic YoY that’s pretty basic and perfect! If you want one that spins longer you can get a metal and bimetal Yoyo! Hope this helped ;)

Also I think the first step is choosing which type of Yoyo you want
Wooden and plastic yo-yos are least expensive and are good starters but don’t spin long. If you want to get a plastic one I suggest the sage Yoyo starter pack. For like 30 dollars you can get 2 bearings for responsive and unresponsive play, string, lube, and the Yoyo! If you want to 1up that you can try and get a metal Yoyo. They are more pricey, and can kinda hurt sometimes, but they can spin for a long time! I think they suggest the roadrunner metal one. Lastly if you want to get even better: the bimetal yoyoys are epic! They suggest a different one but I have and really like the photon! Hope this helps

I was wondered how come ur yoyo can spinning that longer or it has good long spin time? I got mine a butterfly tx beginner yoyo and I'm counted the spinning time only can last 18 sec .I think maybe it's because my yoyo was cheap and beginner...if it's want that long spin I should go for the pro one is it?
You are half right; the butterfly XT does not sleep for a particularly long time. That being said, the reason the yoyo in this video sleeps so long is because it is setup for unresponsive play. Yoyos setup in this way sleep 3-4 times longer than the same yoyo setup in a traditional way. (Unresponsive just means that a larger bearing is put in the yoyo so that it does not come back up when you pull on it. You need to performa a bind to get it to return to your hand).
