I got total vibes of listening to Bauhaus in their bedroom and going through first heartache. Very cool. Way to capture that feeling for me, but still being uniquely Suede at the same time.
Suede are going full on with these first 2 tracks from Autofiction, Glam Punk at its very very best. Turn it up LOUD!!

Still the only 90s band that you don't have to feel old or nostalgic to appreciate their new material or their gigs. As talented, cool and relevant as ever. This track is yet another proof.
Tbf I think James has stood the test of time equally as well as Suede. Their album all the colours of you a couple of years back is amazing imo, both fresh in its style and still faithful to some of the older stuff at the same time

Pure, undiluted Suede: still the essence of the band I first saw on the NME stage at Glastonbury in 1993, still so young. Gentlemen, we salute you.

I love how the new stuff is so sonically different from the last 2 albums. I loved night thoughts and the blue hour, but I love that y’all can still sound like suede but completely different at the same time.
Euphoric. I like looking forward with music, so I was completely surprised that a song by a band from the 90's has become my favourite singe of the year...
Two tremendous singles so far , also hoping for some of those dark , deep , classic Suede ballads .

For me Autofiction is the best album they have made.

The swirling goth influenced guitar sounds like something from Siouxsie or the Cure. Fantastic track. One of the best songs of the summer!

I got Mission vibes from the opening
so Jon Hammerlund's comparison was poor, inaccurate and not relevant, Suede did a pastiche of a third rate gothic band like Sisters of Mercy.
Carl Jules Na he’s right they’re definitely channeling that goth sound, just that it really sounds like more like SOM than Siouxsie/Cure. Who care’s really? They’ve put their own twist on it and it’s one of the best things they’ve done in years.

To be honest Suede after Butler didn't have the same appeal to me but this.....this is good.

Este sencillo sigue al publicado anteriormente "She Still Leads Me On", el primer adelanto del que será noveno disco de la banda, "Autofiction", que saldrá a la venta el 16 de septiembre. La banda dice haber ido “de vuelta a los comienzos y ‘Autofiction’ es nuestro disco de punk". De ese modo se lo plantearon y recordando sus primeros días como banda, Brett Anderson, Mat Osman, Simon Gilbert, Richard Oakes y Neil Codling se encerraron en unos locales abandonados en Kings Cross, abrieron la puerta, llevaron sus instrumentos, montaron todo su equipo y comenzaron a tocar juntos: "Solo nosotros en una habitación con todos los errores revelados. La banda se expone a si misma en todo su caos. Tiene una frescura natural. Es donde queremos estar”.
"Autofiction" se grabó como si fuera en directo en los Konk Studios en el norte de Londres junto al productor Ed Buller, colaborador de Suede durante sus inicios. Ed trabajó por primera vez con la banda produciendo su primer single "The Drowners", que cumple ahora 30 años de su edición. Si hace 30 años "The Drowners" se convirtió en un himno generacional que habla de una juventud perturbada, ahora querían recuperar ese espíritu. Brett Anderson describe "15 Again" como “una canción sobre enamorarse de la vida por primera vez”. El bajista Mat Osman ha añadido que “cuando estábamos ensayando y escribiendo esta canción, era esa sensación que tienes cuando estás luchando por tu querida vida”.

I remember when I was a kid my dad playing "she's in fashion" and we always used to joke about the lyrics. We used to listen to "trash" by them too. Their music is very catchy.

I've always known them (my dad introduced me to their music as a kid), it's just the last 3 weeks or so, I've been properly listening to them because I heard "She Still Leads Me On" on the radio and thought it was one of their old songs. Turns out otherwise, they have a new album out.
