Tbf I think James has stood the test of time equally as well as Suede. Their album all the colours of you a couple of years back is amazing imo, both fresh in its style and still faithful to some of the older stuff at the same time

La banda dice haber ido “de vuelta a los comienzos y ‘Autofiction’ es nuestro disco de punk". De ese modo se lo plantearon y recordando sus primeros días como banda, Brett Anderson, Mat Osman, Simon Gilbert, Richard Oakes y Neil Codling se encerraron en unos locales abandonados en Kings Cross, abrieron la puerta, llevaron sus instrumentos, montaron todo su equipo y comenzaron a tocar juntos: "Solo nosotros en una habitación con todos los errores revelados. La banda se expone a si misma en todo su caos. Tiene una frescura natural. Es donde queremos estar”. "Autofiction" se grabó como si fuera en directo en los Konk Studios en el norte de Londres junto al productor Ed Buller, colaborador de Suede durante sus inicios. Ed trabajó por primera vez con la banda produciendo su primer single "The Drowners", que cumple ahora 30 años de su edición. Si hace 30 años "The Drowners" se convirtió en un himno generacional que habla de una juventud perturbada, ahora querían recuperar ese espíritu.
