I have been pediatric RN for 40 years. I watch these videos once in awhile just to get perspective on adoption. This was a really sweet one. Little Willa made a very good transition. You guys are really lucky you got her at such a tender age. Her growth and development seems to have improved from her early infancy. She is tiny but she looks well-nourished. Here's hoping all the love and joy you felt the day you met her carries on into her life. She is the one who will be most impacted. Get her a dolly that looks like her. ♡ Nurse Carolyn

Yes I noticed that to be honest, I was thinking to myself in all of the photos taken Willa did not smile, it wasn’t until she was in the taxi away from that place that she was smiling and then laughing….so heartbreaking 💔 when the lady passed Willa to new mom on the chair, she practically threw her!! 😢😢 do you notice it wasn’t just me was it? The love these parents has shown this beautiful little girl is beyond precious and priceless…..❤ and having 2 loving protective brothers and a huge loving family….xxxx ❤

You have just too many negative opinions about India. You are speaking as if the west is crime-free and girls and children are completely safe there. There are positive and negative aspects in all countries. America also has its own set of issues and serious crimes. Gender crimes and sexual harrassment happens in the west too. Moreover India is a subcontinent and is extremely diverse. It's wrong to generalise the entire country with all the crimes you have listed.

But it is not only about crime/ rape. A girl child has to go through a lot in india or any asian conservative country. Only girls in the main cities are privileged enough to live a very different life. Still there is a fear parents feel once she steps outside of the house till she comes back in. Only a parent of a girl child understands. Go to haryana or bihar. Nearby cities from so called capital. And see the difference with which a girl child/ or women / wife/ daughter in law is treated. If you are so concerned spend your energy in educating them and changing their mindset. No equality. Dowry. In most of india , apart from main cities girls are forced to live school and do household chores whereas boys are allowed to continue. And im not talking about past. These things happens even now and ive seen it. 2 hour drive from delhi and a girl aged 15 left school at even earlier age and got married around 16. Along with her sister aged 14 years. The sister had a dream of joining army. Im from some other country married to an indian man. I’ve seen it first hand it was not in my power to speak against it you know why because married women “ bahus” must cover their face with the saree . Not allowed to talk. 😄😄. And all the so called male takes all the decision and not my family or place to talk. And ive also met a educated family , father in law a manager , son manager, daughter a teacher but still at home the daughter in law covering her face and not speaking in front of father in law. Their whole relative and whole society followed the same protocal for daughter in law. this rubbish still goes on in india and also in a well educated family. If you think the whole of india is great for a girl child , or when she is a grown up or married , go around and see first. Bade sehro main Rehke , supporting parents k paas rehke baat karna its very easy. Pehle sab india ko or dowry mindset , misogyny , differences between a man and a women, safety of a women ko badlo then speak so the world will listen. I love india, i love the place, the people , food and whatever there is to see. It is a beautiful country but what is true is true. A girl/ women is treated as minority. Her dreams / choices doesnt matter most. And again i am not talking about big cities and educated parents. That consists of maximum 30% of the women population rest are all suffering. Either with education/ marriage / dowry issues. Even well educated working female are tortured for dowry what are you guys saying. In foreign country, at least you have the freedom. To study, work, eqality. Crime is everywhere around the world but it is not only about crime. Also if in india or surrounding countries , a girl is raped and somehow the citizen blame it on the same victim girl, find fault in the way she wears her clothes, her frank bubbly behaviour , she speaking , making male friends . So please before realising what other meant dont blame the person . Ek chad jaye toh sab ki chad ne ki adat hoti hai. the above comment said it wrong k bas crime ki wajah se , it is not only about crime , but there are many many issues apart from the crime jiski wajah se ek women ki life india main ya Kuch similar countries main buri rehti hai. Crime to kuch k sath hoti hai. she/ he meant good for the child. Ish Ladki k sath accha hua now she will grow up in a country of equality and independence.

I am Indian, and those who are confused/concerned about 06:41, don't worry. The woman was actually very gentle with the child. Maybe it looks different/rough to international viewers, but trust me she didn't handle the little one badly. Her body language is perfectly Indian. It looks normal and okay to me. She leaves immediately probably due to emotional reasons or due to the fact that not everyone wants/ knows how to be in front of the camera or talk to foreigners or officials. They are thereto take care of the children, and that's what they do. Hope this helps to rest your worries!

This child is so Beautiful!!! I'm bowling my eyes crying wow so emotional. Thank You Lord Jesus Christ that Willa is in a safe place now with people that love and adore and care for her. I wonder if they treated her well at the orphanage I can't help but think about all of these babies and children in orphanages.

Oh my gosh, look at the change in her countenance. It's like she has this peace and happiness...what an absolute beautiful little girl. Maybe somewhere in her soul she knows that you two rescued her and brought her to a wonderful life. This is a miracle.
She look terrified in every single picture until you guys got her. Also, the way that lady slung her on your lap😡 I'm so glad you guys adopted her. You can tell she feels safe and loved with you both.
I was thinking excacly the same as you, she really did litruly throw her onto her lap! I think you can see that this is the first time she feels properly loved, when she was having the first bottle...she was just staring into her new mommy's eyes already bonding...because she probably felt safe. Made me sad when they went back to the orphanage...she had that sad glazed look on her face again, as if she was saying please don't leave me here. She will want for nothing with her new family, her mummy was just oozing with love for her...from the moment she saw her! 😊

She had a constant look of concern on her face at the orphanage, she clung to her mom and dad pretty much instantly. She's beautiful, there's no doubt that she feels safe and loved.
i have learned in my 51 years on this earth to not judge other cultures way of doing things to how we do things here in america.
I feel like the women wasn’t being rude. She probably was just like it has to be done so let me get it over with and not make a scene so the child won’t cry. Every culture is different!

What a beautiful story. I have a sister that was adopted from India when she was about six months old so I love seeing these stories!! The lady holding her at the orphanage looked like she didn’t want to let Willa go the way she threw her into your arms lol. I hope she has adjusted well to her new wonderful life. This is what I was thinking, imagine having to give away a child becuase you can’t provide and a new rich couple with coming with a huge smile on their faces, not judging the parents just recognizing the situation
Sandra Osorio it would be next to impossible to not bond with the children you’re caring for while waiting to be adopted. I couldn’t imagine having to constantly say goodbye to children that were basically yours for the first year or so!! Mrssewhardtoplease wow you are a piece of work. People are not always able to look after their own children. It happens EVERYWHERE. In my country (Wales 🏴) there are millions of children needing foster care let alone parents. Everyone has different circumstances. Have some respect! India was raising baby Willa. They were taking care of her in foster care. Then someone came along and asked to do it instead.

Like in Hinduism if you're born an orphan it's because of karma from a previous life, and Islam also doesn't accept adoption because boys and girls not blood related can't cohabitate. It just is what it is. It's very unlikely a native from India would adopt.
