Robert Conrad, I want to personally Thank You for playing the character of James West (Wild Wild West) nobody could never replace you as James West as a kid I never missed an episode of the Wild Wild West. Rest In Peace My Brother vaya con Dios.
The days of men like Robert Conrad, Jack Lord, Charlton Heston, John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Sean Connery and so many others, are now over, gone... Bogart, Douglas, Brenner, Peck, Garner... and no one in sight to replace them. I'm hearing George Jones singing "Whose Gonna Fill Their Shoes" in my head...
Rest in peace Mr. Conrad. Oh boy, sure loved waiting for Mr. James West and your side kick Artemus Gordon in 'The Wild, Wild West' as a kid ! Fond memories.
Born in 1935...gets his first starring role in a hit TV series in 1959....he was 24 years old! WOW, what a remarkable career. He was such a potent physical presence in WWWest. He was a TV only actor who had rare and enduring Steve McQueen type "cool". He was always the coolest guy on the screen. One of a kind.
RIP Robert....you provided me with many leisurely hours of entertainment throughout my youth ..my fondest memories was the Wild Wild West and Black sheep Squadron...
I grew up with Robert Conrad during the wild wild West I was 9 to 13 years of age from 1965 to 1969. He was my television idol and I looked up to him and his character James T West. I remember there was a conflict between The Wild Wild West and The Man from Uncle; they overlapped each other; the last half of The Wild West and the first half of The Man from Uncle conflicted with each other..... well for me The Wild Wild West won out and I never really watched an episode of The Man from Uncle, but I watched every single episode of The Wild Wild West!!! Thank You Robert Conrad for making my childhood exciting. God Bless
Great actor. I loved The Black Sheep Squadron - never missed an episode and now have the entire series of DVDs. He was born to play Major "Pappy" Boyington.
I am shocked. I grew up watching The Wild, Wild West and later Baa Baa Black sheep/ Black Sheep Squadron. Rip Robert Conrad, thank you for the memories. JA
Robert Conrad was a real man. Not like the men we see on screen today. How many actors have three solid tv shows to their credit? Michael Landon, Lee Majors. Can't think of another.
I always liked Robert Conrad. I tuned in to the Wild, Wild, West which was a favorite show of mine, and I watched him in Baa Baa Black Sheep. Rest in Peace Robert Conrad.
This world is sorely lacking in actors, and dare I say men, such as you, Mr. CONRAD. I will always remember the generosity with which you played your roles. Hats off Sir. Thank you for this tribute that this Actor of great talent, and who left so humbly, deserved.
He's still my idol and hero even after he's gone. There will never be another Robert Conrad a real deal tough guy. You will be forever missed. Rest in peace.
Goodbye Mr Robert Conrad, i wish you happiness there. I wash shoced to hear that you were dead. I saw the movie The Wild Wild West again so i miss Seeing your acting. You are my favorite star since Childhood, you are a Big Actor handsome sexy your Movie good never missed if The Wild Wild West aired On TV at the time. Now every day i see The Wild Wild West from TH-cam for medicine i miss you, now i can't see your acting anymore, i hope your family will Be strong after your departure. I am from INDONESIA.
I never failed to watch an episode of Wild Wild West, or the repeats, over and over. And then he became even more famous with Ba Ba Black Sheep. He looked like a helluva nice guy too, wish I could've met him. Miss ya Robert!!
Once upon a time, my mother worked for Bob at A. Shane Company (his production outfit). This was during the High Mountain Rangers series. I loved hanging out at the office with his son Christian. "Toes" (Joan's husband) would invite me over to play on their Hi-Ball court in the back yard. Bob was one of the most genuine guys I have ever met, and will always be one of my heroes of the screen.
EXCELLENT @ HIS CHOSEN CRAFT, I was lucky enough to be around the "tube" on/off for most of all those wonderful years, thank you MR CONRAD for always giving us your best! Peace to you & family.♡

Well, what a nice tribute, Tim. Wild Wild West was one of my favorite TV shows when I was a kid. I don’t think I’ve watched it since. Seeing the scenes from it make me wonder if they didn’t inspire the fight scenes in Batman, the TV show (another favorite of mine).
He did more different things in entertainment than anyone else ever. Plus a great guy. I spoke with him twice on his radio show. He was the real thing, and treated everyone great.
James West and many other American tv series like Land of Giants, Time Tunnel, Voyage to the Bottom the Sea etc helped me learn the American English. I remember those shows weren't dubbed to Portuguese but they had subtitles on them...so my learning has lasted up to today! R.I.P. Great Actor!!!
