Really like the addition of caraway seeds, think I'll let your recipe inspire me! Also, Riley looked fluffy and adorable, the squeaking cracked me up and I hope to see/hear your c-brewer more often ;)
Thank you, and it came out really nice but not nearly as good as the previous two years, not sure why at this point. Love my new dog, but she really does think the squeakers are for getting humans' attention to play with her. She will squeak her favorite toy against my leg for up to 20+ minutes (she'd go longer but I always give in.) Sadly we had to shave her recently due to extreme allergies, but she is feeling better (plus a shot for allergies from her vet).
Awesome, and congrats! Let me know if you need any assistance as I've learned too much about the anvils to the point I'm a bit OCD with mine from time to time.
Thanks for sharing. I brewed a Irish Red 2 weeks ago and had a bad brew day so I turned it into a braggot. Just brewed a Coconut Blueberry Pale Ale and it's for another braggot. Brew day went good. I also mixed different yeast for it. I'll report back when it's done to let you know how it came out. The Irish red was your recipe with a couple of modifications. Pretty bummed with the disaster that happened. Gotta love squeaky toys. LOL! Cheers!
Sounds like you've been as busy or even more so. Not a big fan of coconut, but I am a huge fan of Blueberry. Sounds like you might be stocking up on Braggots. I keep procrastinating on brewing my meads but I'll eventually knock them out. Let me know how they turn out. Sadly this Red Ale was nice but not nearly as good as previous years.
Not quite to do with the brew day, but I'm wondering if your faucet happens to be a T&S faucet? I just realized today that the standard tap-garden hose converters don't work on mine and I'm wondering if you found a solution/size that fits? (or if I will have to wait to the sink video...) Cheers!
Not sure what T&S stands for but this is the faucet I bought - amzn.to/3yTShKE One of the silver items in this link is what I connected, but I had to remove the stupid green thing as it wasn't well installed. (The green thing is just a restrictor) - amzn.to/40g4jcU
I'm not sure I follow, but I am intrigued. Are you saying the temp next to the actual probe vs. what the mash is sitting at in regards to temp? If so, I haven't tested that part, but I will the next time I do a brew. I did test the temp probe vs. a trusted thermometer, and it was dead on with only a +/- 0.1 of fluctuation, which was awesome.
@@BitterRealityBrewing I tested just water and it was dead on. I don’t use the flow control. I use a recirculating arm like with the anvil. The mash temp read 151 but the wort coming out of the recirculating arm was 146.
@@jimleblanc2946 I could see the wort coming out being a bit cooler, but that does seem to be a bit of a range, especially after everything has had time to heat up a bit. I wouldn't worry too much as long as things don't get too much hotter than what you are shooting for in your mash to avoid loss of enzymes and other reactions you are trying for aka fermentables and thin/medium/heavy body.

Looking forward to the next video. Please keep them coming. I have this same system and will have my first brew day with it tomorrow. Wish me luck 😅

Nice video Mike! I have not ever done an Irish Red Ale yet... Guess what I want to do now... Cheers!
Thank you and this year's version was nice but the previous two years were amazing! Not sure of the difference except for the hops.

Also, send me an email and I'll send you a link to the SINK video as it is currently unlisted but will be posted live in the near future.
@@BitterRealityBrewing Nice, I noticed the quick connect on your brewery reveal video.
Have you found the temp loss from the controller to your mash temp is off by 5-6 degrees?
