Thank you!!! Couldn’t agree more. I was sickened by the blatant disrespect and malicious disregard for the facts. Not to mention more of the same run of the mill, tacky, soulless exploitation that was a huge part of the issue to begin with. She also let Blake and Mitch off the hook….just wrong on so many levels. How do you make a movie about that voice and have some random actress do the singing?! I was gobsmacked. 😡

Someone pointed out that these biopics always have a somber echoing version of the subject's biggest hit included in the trailer.

I had a feeling you wouldn’t like it. I didn’t mind it but, yeah biopics are very hard to pull off. I think the documentary Amy dives into more about her life and some more facts.
Sadly there was a David Bowie biopic that was made in 2020 called Star Dust. Saw it on Blu Ray nearly 2 years ago in June of that year and it is an absolute abomination.🤮

@@IMOReviews Worst of all David Bowie's family said that he never wanted a biopic to be made about him before he died but someone decided to go against their wishes and do it anyway. And you can tell because there are no David Bowie songs in the movie. Yes you heard that right no David Bowie songs in a David Bowie biopic about David Bowie the singer!😑

The only things I know about Amy Winehouse aren't flattering, so I have zero interest in watching a movie about her. The actress does look a lot like her though.

I think she was a brilliant artist I’m quite misunderstood. I think they’re just like many music. Artists roll into the hands of drugs and alcohol, and that sort of became her legacy more than her music. I don’t mind them making a biopic about her life. I think that they chose the absolute weakest team to do so though, Sam Taylor Johnson should be nowhere near theatrical productions. She should be making limited series for Peacock.
