I thought the same. I can't say I really know, but it feels like even high-level tennis players like this know that it is going to be tough road on the international stage and you really have to break at least maybe the top 40 in the world to start seeing some money from it. With PB he may have seen a much easier path forward to quickly make a living at it, which it appears he has already accomplished. And the fact that the sport is growing so quickly may have played into his decision-making as well.
Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Enjoy the process. You're doing very good !! The league is better than it was a couple of years ago. You'll keep climbing for sure....
You've got it all, Christian. Everything from here on out is mental. Look at how Ben Johns approaches matches. His maturity level is off the charts for his age. I guarantee the high majority of players don't have your physical skills. Stay focused!
This guy was unreal in the juniors. Wouldn’t be surprised if him, Duong, or Sock take that #1 spot. He has a serious shot at being a top tennis player in ATP and obviously in PPA
Once again a heart-felt vlog taking us to inner depths of being a pro competitor at the highest level. I always pull for you because I know how much it means to you and how much you share in your vlogs. Keep the faith.
I have been watching you and Jaume from the beginning and I knew you guys were going far. Mike D from Oahu Hawaii pushing you and Jaume up!! two of the most exciting players in pickle by far
brother. I get it. I have been watching your channel form beginning. your are the shit I promise. I watch a lot of high level pickleball. Just keep pushing christian. You got what it takes!
Keep pushing big dog. As you know probably better than I do, sports are filled with more downs than ups. especially with individual sports where you ride or die for yourself. I would love to see you develop your mental stamina as from your PPA matches, It stands out as an area of improvement. Stay in the moment, move on from the past or it will be what moves your future. Only bigger and better things ahead of your brother. Your just getting started. Chin up.
Great stuff brother! I'm a big fan. Hey on a side note, I watched the Red Rock tournament and thought the fans were heckling you and your partner. Sorry, it had to be really tough. Keep grinding and working hard.
Wow, Christian Alshon is videos are always so inspiring! As a dedicated Mystrika user, I can confidently say that cold email campaigns are incomplete without Mystrika. Give it a shot and watch your outbound lead gen skyrocket!
Yea, it seems that way, but it isn't really surprising. The difference is pretty much your best tennis players started playing at an extremely young age and they are conditioned to pick up PickleBall (PB) easily. PB hasn't been around long enough for that early development to take place. I think what you'll find as PB gains more popularity is that you'll start having a younger generation picking up PB at an early age. Then I think the gap will really narrow, if not disappear, with native PB players winning against native tennis players. Now, if you are comparing previous tennis players to someone who hasn't played racquet sports at all, then it really isn't any contest. Any paddle or racquet sport is going to lend itself well to PB especially when you are comparing against athletes that have no previous paddle or racquet experience at all.
I think it's because the sport is still so relatively young, at least in terms of when it's really started blowing up popularity-wise; people with experience in racquet sports are going to have a natural advantage, but it's going to balance out within a few more years.
Given your success in tennis at a high level in NCAA, why didn't you go into pro tennis? Lots more $ and visibility in pro tennis vs pro pb. Either way, you're a great player bro... go get it!
Because tennis is still a much more dominant sport; he could probably 'go pro' there, but unless you are at the *very* top, like Top 3, Top 5 at best, you are not going to get anything but the most lukewarm of sponsorships, if that. Getting in on what is relatively the ground floor of pb's popularity now, as it gets bigger, could see bigger returns than possibly getting lost in the crowd of climbers that occasionally challenge those top players.
Ay! In case you need someone to hit with when you come to ATL, let me know (4.5 player here). I would offer a place to stay also if you're willing to drive 20 to 30 minutes to the tournament site. Just let me know.
You probably ARE the single most athletic dude on tour, and you have the potential to be the best. I don't mean to be insulting when I say this, but it seems to me you wear your emotions on your sleeve when you play, and it's often times detrimental to you, and appears to cloud your judgement. If you can rein in on the mental game, I've no doubt you will be the best. Pretty much everything else is already in place.
So it all comes back to tennis, you don’t need a Pickleball background to be good, you don’t need to be that atheistic, but pickleball is still harder than tennis….got it
There is a reason you lose a point, 70% of the time it is a bad shot selection or court position and 10% your flat doing it wrong :). Don't feel sorry for yourself, look at the tape and correct it. You say it is a chess match, well time to make winning decisions.
I loved hearing about your pickleball journey in this video! Your dedication to the sport is truly inspiring. Speaking of dedication, Mystrika has helped me streamline my cold email campaigns effortlessly with its advanced features and easy-to-use interface.
Congrats for ending on a high. Dude I love your raw emotions. You have the heart of a champion. It’s just a matter of time
It is a matter of time. He'll be great.
he is still young too plus i feel like johns is moving away from singles so more opportunities for guys like Christian
@@TrumanDraker-lz6eb Ben Johns is likely just taking a needed rest. He'll be playing more singles.
your tennis background is a lot more impressive than i thought. sheeeessh.

Great respect for your honesty. Mental toughness is necessary when you’re building a business.
Keep with it! Sometimes it just takes a while longer than we’d like. Go through the process! You’re a great athlete!
Thanks for the picture at the end of sunday!
Do you not have a sports nutritionist plan for game day? I would try to get a consistent routine going that includes your meal plan
Keep pushing big dog.

This man deserves more subs
CA will soon get his. If hes patient hes gonna start winning alot of tournys.
But in terms of earnings how much do u win for making it to the semi finals
Jeez does every pro come from a strong tennis background? Seems like there's no hope for someone who never played tennis

Dylan Frazier didn’t play tennis
Hayden Patriquin is one of the few pro players that didn’t come from a tennis background and started pickleball at 13 and went pro at 16.
I think it's because the sport is still so relatively young, at least in terms of when it's really started blowing up popularity-wise; people with experience in racquet sports are going to have a natural advantage, but it's going to balance out within a few more years.
Your my favourite player

You need to focus on each point and each point alone and stop worrying about the score which is a distraction.
Bro is handsome af no diddy
PSA: Infamous means famous for bad reasons.
