I completely change my perspective of them on how bad their editing is and acting. Even tho they don't have the best equipment and best actors, each one of them who worked with Wakaliwood is passionate on what they're doing, they're not doing this for the profit but doing this because they love it. The project was of course for profit, they sold shirts posters & mugs promoting the movie just think about it you cant buy better equipment without necessary funds also payment for helping in the project would benefit those involved. Their apparent focus, was on helping Wakali become Wakaliwood ,inviting residents & new actors into their movies they gave young talent a chance to make something worthwhile & have fun while doing it.
DubstepClassicsHD Certainly, the scene with the white guy in the alleys was nonstop pure gut wrenching action, if it wasn't for the technical problems it would put "Hollywood actions movies" to shame.

no they fucking dont. i dropped out of a film degree program because i was literally the only person in a 30 person class to turn in a short film for a class about making a short film. they all want to be casey neistat and be an instagram star filming their normal lives with expensive camera equipment. they think cinema, the film experience, is for old dinosaurs and nerds.
the modern film student mindset is not the mindset of someone who wants to use film as a tool to tell stories. they want to use film to make themselves look cool. with all of these types you will never see any of them go out of their way to achieve perfection, because effort spent going out of their way to achieve results in a personal project could have been spent cultivating an instagram following that only pats them on the back for low effort content film students dont make films anymore
0:16 did I just see Big Ben turn into a missile, fly straight through the Brooklyn Bridge, and get destroyed by Jesus? THATS IT! This is the best film ever made! SUCK IT HOLLYWOOD!
He is creating dreams. This is the real essence of cinema... George Melies, Murnau and the other "fathers" of cinema did the same more than a century ago, creating everithing with their own forces. Absolute respect for him and for the actors, this is a good thing and they will bring positive energy in their land and in this world. ❤
I would pay so much just to see a full documentary about the making of wakaliwood. He’s built this whole community around his films and brought so many people together. I am so impressed by the props especially, the way they use what they find to make really convincing and impressive guns in astounding
@Thanos Car When an industry gets as big as hollywood is, people will be pushing their own motives and idealisms. The same would happen for Wakaliwood if it got the same resources, development, and influence. In any case, it could even be worse because there isn't enough infrastructure and security around it.
The craziest part about this is, if you search up SW Last Jedi and look at the ratings, the ratings are lower than Saving Captain Alex! Pretty crazy how people liked a movie that had a budget of 200-300 USD instead of a Million dollar movie
@Cheesy Little Kid It has over 6000 votes, its not just memes. How killed Captain Alex? is a 100% pure, distilled human passion. That cannot be bought with the 300 million spend on the Disnified, corporate soulless SW Last Jedi

If anyone truly needs 'escapism' in their lives, its the people who really need to escape the harsh realities of everyday life. God bless this man
9:41 If the American producers think Africans should just make movies about poverty, then its fair to say that America should just make movies about gluttony and obesity...
Marco Santiago Ocariza Well, they did make Supersize Me XD But I do agree with the general point - these guys want to make action movies because they like action movies. And they don't need a reminder of how gritty life is in Africa. Strange how we respect Wakaliwood more than actual Hollywood. Because this is passion, doing what you love regardless of the circumstance. While Hollywood complains about having to break even at the Box Office, Wakaliwood just does their own thing.

I completely change my perspective of them on how bad their editing is and acting. Even tho they don't have the best equipment and best actors, each one of them who worked with Wakaliwood is passionate on what they're doing, they're not doing this for the profit but doing this because they love it. Mad respect
?
@@hundreadrides7730 they involved the community people who wanted to study martial arts or film making

@@yato4302 What a Gopnik?
@Versaucey --- What would be wrong with these guys working for profit? It's not as though they couldn't use it. Nabwana I.G.G. even said he wanted to expand his production.
The project was of course for profit, they sold shirts posters & mugs promoting the movie
just think about it you cant buy better equipment without necessary funds also payment for helping in the project would benefit those involved.
Their apparent
focus, was on helping Wakali become Wakaliwood ,inviting residents & new actors into their movies they gave young talent a chance to make something worthwhile & have fun while doing it.
I love how they are genuinely happy and proud of their achievements. I admire them.
All memes aside, this is actually truly amazing and heartwarming. This has what western cinema has since lost.
Joe Davies hasn't lost shit. It's just a huge industry, can't expect big suits to be so optimistic and all... Smh
And since when?
Western cinema is high budget, high production value but no passion or soul or genuine creativity. These Ugandan films are the opposite it seems
No U There's more to Africa than poverty. And this shows that to the world.
Praveen Sharma It has lost these kind of light hearted and cheesy action films that don't have some kind of bullshit political agenda.
Call me what you want, but this is really wholesome. How they put their hearts out there, and ambitions glistening
It's all wonderful.

Mad respect to these Ugandans.
Best example of where there is will there is way. The amount of effort and passion they put in the movies deserve much respect, awards and funding.
some of the fighting scenes look a lot more realistic than US action films.
DubstepClassicsHD Certainly, the scene with the white guy in the alleys was nonstop pure gut wrenching action, if it wasn't for the technical problems it would put "Hollywood actions movies" to shame.
Cruz Rodriguez dude lmao fuck yes

Has more heart than pretentious indie films college students make these days.
I agree 100%
College students put a lot of passion in their projects tho. Passion comes with the job, unless your Adam Sandler of course.
Keystrokes not as much passion as these ugandans
no they fucking dont. i dropped out of a film degree program because i was literally the only person in a 30 person class to turn in a short film for a class about making a short film. they all want to be casey neistat and be an instagram star filming their normal lives with expensive camera equipment. they think cinema, the film experience, is for old dinosaurs and nerds.
the modern film student mindset is not the mindset of someone who wants to use film as a tool to tell stories. they want to use film to make themselves look cool. with all of these types you will never see any of them go out of their way to achieve perfection, because effort spent going out of their way to achieve results in a personal project could have been spent cultivating an instagram following that only pats them on the back for low effort content
film students dont make films anymore

I would pay so much just to see a full documentary about the making of wakaliwood. He’s built this whole community around his films and brought so many people together. I am so impressed by the props especially, the way they use what they find to make really convincing and impressive guns in astounding
I hope the Wakaliwood will grow big
And more bettle
It will with black Spielberg over there
@Thanos Car When an industry gets as big as hollywood is, people will be pushing their own motives and idealisms. The same would happen for Wakaliwood if it got the same resources, development, and influence. In any case, it could even be worse because there isn't enough infrastructure and security around it.

9:41 If the American producers think Africans should just make movies about poverty, then its fair to say that America should just make movies about gluttony and obesity...
Marco Santiago Ocariza Well, they did make Supersize Me XD
But I do agree with the general point - these guys want to make action movies because they like action movies. And they don't need a reminder of how gritty life is in Africa. That reminds me - I think one of my favourite movies of all time, District 9, while focusing on poverty and post-colonial themes, also had a great deal of well-paced action it.
Marco Santiago Ocariza That part really pissed me off. Because he is a white guy, who acts in these movies, he's promoting African stereotypes? Are you fucking serious?!?!?!?!
