Ben knows how to talk to kids. It's a gift without equal. Many adults don't have it. Joke around with them, and make them think with with some borderline nonsense like, "What's your online rating, 8000?" and "That's why you're in my class" because of your birthday. It's a joy to watch.

I shouldn't be in the 1400 class but still a joy to watch!

Agree! Far too many adults fall into that "They are kids, they don't understand" trap and treat kids like mentally challenged. Kids (and especially chess kids) are clever and thrive when when addressed like this. They might not know that much, so their reasoning might be a bit wonky, but it does not mean that they are incapable of processing information, quite the opposite really.

Back in the day with Ben finegold is unspecific, because EVERY Ben finegold lecture plays "back in the day"😂

It's perfectly specific. There are backs, Bens, and lots of withs. Specific, yes. However, not unique.

Hey Ben. You're one of the few people here on earth who makes it bearable for me to keep on living. Thank you so much for always combining 2 of my favorite things in life, comedy and chess. You're like an uncle or father I never had. Thank you Ben.

Reuploads means I can see how much I remember or don’t. Terrible
Edit: on a serious note I do appreciate these lectures!
I play a game and try to see if I can remember the year of the original lecture and then check the description to find out I’m wrong :D

Ben making fun of Yasser for saying the same thing a million times is really the peak of irony. Also, every lecture should end with a random scene from a Gene Wilder movie.

I HAVE a question that I don't even think that Ben can answer.
IS it true amongst chess players, that one's ability to speak COMPLETE rational sentences is INVERSELY proportional to their ratings? 🤯
Like I've watched many interviews at the candidates, and GMs can't say complete sentences.. "yeah, it's like if.. then, Ng5, but maybe not, or X-XN, but yeah.. the rook is..."
I mean even Magnus, he doesn't finish a complete thought/sentence. A couple words at most during interviews, and others do this as well, not just him.

After hours and hours of games it can be hard to string together sentences
