      I'm impressed enough to pick up a few more, a Muela and another Cudeman. These Spanish makers are different but in a very good way.

    16:55 This is a finishing knife. Designed purely for dispatching game. I've seen more than one us video mistaking this pattern as a fighting knife due to its shape and gaurd. But its traditiknal in Spain and Portugal for hunting bosr with dogs where dispatching with a gun could injure the dogs.

    Your description of the knife remindes me of my Cold Steel Drop Forged Bowie. As described by the maker i expected a heavier chopper. However as soon as i put hands on, i got that same Styrofoam blade feeling you described. It would still chop deeply, but required more effort than my other bowies. Soon enough i realized the knife suffered from a bad descrption more than sub par performance. As a lighter dualling knife it works amazing. So returning to the joker, that blade is nearly identical to a U.S. 1902 bayonet i owned years ago. Right there its purpose becomes clear. They just made it better. I really enjoy your reviews. You hit on topics lacking from the typical youtube reviewer. Keep up the solid work!

      Feather vs crowbar. The Joker is 10oz and the CS is 29oz, making it several ounces heavier than my next beefiest big CS Knife, the 1917 Bowie (24oz). I was shocked by how light the Joker is.

    When you mentioned gaucho knives in previous videos, I immediately thought of this knife and the similar Muela Urial 26, Muela Scorpion 26 and Muela Alcaraz 26.) I was interested to know what you think about using such a knife as a fighting knife.

    • @michaelrizzo5523
      @michaelrizzo5523  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Very similar blades to this one. (I have a Muela to review coming soon.) The shorter version would probably make an awesome stiletto. This one reminds me of a parrying dagger, so definitely good on the thrust, but the snap-cut is impressive too. I have the Zorro review coming up, which I think is a better all-around blade.

    A very well known site has the 13 inch Stag Handle on sale for 110 minus 10%......Is it worth buying at 99 bucks?

      It's very good price! I do like this knife for what it does well. Still worried about that partial tang, but I don't chop or pry with it, and I expect the stag would be more durable than the olive wood.

    It's funny you bring up the bayonet shape, the US m3 trench/fighting knife and the m4,m5,m6, and m7 bayonets have yhe same shape blade, although shorter about 6 1/2 ish. Im liking the look of that one. Might even try the bigger one.

    • @michaelrizzo5523

    • @JamesThomas-gg6il
      @JamesThomas-gg6il 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@michaelrizzo5523 the m3 was originally designed for paratroopers to go along with the m1 carbine, because it didn't have a provision for a bayonet until very late in the war. When they started putting bayonet lugs on the carbine they just added a ring as the guard and used the exact same blade shape. Originally disk shaped leather ringed handle, then switched to plastic for the them after the korean war.

    Hi, I'm a traditional hunter and came to notice, that if someone it not might not see the intended purpose of the blade. A hunter would use those blades to relief (kill) Deer when wounded by a Stab to it's heart, so it won't suffer as Red-Deer, or Elk can be quite large, hence the length of the blade. Same for a Leaf formed or Spearhead Blade - only that those are used for wild boar which has considerabley stronger build. The Joker knives are great, they are really robust, daily use and carry no problem. The other spanish brand I can recommend is Muela, proably their quality is even a little better , by the way their production halls are situated next to each other, and the knives are assembled manually, so are the sheaths.

    • @michaelrizzo5523
      @michaelrizzo5523  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They do refer to them as pig stickers or stickers, and I can see that usefulness, much like the Cold Steel OSS and OSI. I am a bit worried about the likelihood of partial tangs on these.
