Lower the prices; not the interest rates. We had the best standard of living ever with normal mortgage rates of 8% and car interest rates of 12% in the recent past. It's high prices that have lowered out standard of living. Right now there is a $200k corona price premium on every new house in the USA. That is pure price gouging. Lower the prices!!!!!!
I'm a middle class Gen x, born in the seventies. People in my social circle are mostly Gen Z or Millenials because of where I work. What I can tell you is simple math about why what they do and what they believe in. For them. its all about convenience and instant gratification. They order food for lunch and dinner via Uber or Doordash instead of bringing it, they buy $10 coffee instead of drinking it from the breakroom, they dont pay bills other than cellphone and car insurance because they still live at home at 25-30. Their fault or parents? Either way, everything sucks because of them and how they are influencing others to follow their practices. No work ethic, no accountability, no pragmatic reason to better our society. They just leech off it in hopes that they won't ever need to lift a finger.

Inflation is not going down ? I wonder why? During the past fiscal year, the U.S. is providing Israel with at least $13.1 million per day military aid. PER DAY! This has been going on for decades. Imagine how this could be used to uplift American lives at home, healthcare, college money, lower inflation, building infrastructure like roads, bridges, upgrading Amtrak (which compared to Chinese trains are like 100s of years behind) and a better economy that will create more jobs locally for our kids to prosper and have a future? Instead were $33 trillion in debt (If you burnt a 1$ bill a second it will take more than a 1 million years to burn 33 trillion.)and hand over $13.1 million on a daily basis to a foreign nation who have nothing to give us but maybe drag us and our sons and daughters into nuclear Armageddon.

But here's the thing I deliver for FedEx every day I have been for the last over 6 1/2 years. I've never come into the terminal and had an empty truck. It's always slammed full. every truck leaves full so I don't understand where people are getting their money to spend really haven't understood it for the last year and a half.
The system is failing as a result of both government and federal policy. In the next days, the banking crisis would have to be epic and gigantic for the FED to decide not to raise interest rates. This won't happen; an increase and a crash are coming. There will be more negative portfolios this 2nd half of 2023 with markets tumbling, soaring inflation, and banks going out of business. My concern is how can the rapid interest-rate hike be of favor to a value investor, or is it better avoiding stocks for a while?

I have saved and now the money I have saved has a FRACTION of the buying power it had when I first started. 15 years ago I could buy a weeks worth of groceries for $100 now every time I go in the store and buy 3 maybe 4 items and it easily runs $30 or $40. forget buying a weeks worth for $100. The money I have put up has no where near the buying power it had when I worked for it.
