Was a purist and wanted SILENCE on the course, up until a couple of years ago. Now? I have a Blue Tees player plus speaker (non GPS variant) and use it every round. Always check with playing partners to ask if they'd prefer to play without, and I've yet to be paired with anyone who's objected. Obviously we're not blasting and turning it up to 11. I've found that music on the course is a nice distraction. Enjoyable to listen to, and keep your mind engaged while not over-obsessing about the next shot. There's a time for that, and the music is easy to tune out when you need to.
Having a bad round? Shanked one into the lumber yard? Throw on your favorite tune and decompress. You may save a few otherwise thrown in the lake clubs / putter.
A regular playing buddy also has one, and when together we pair them up in the cart. NEXT level sound when more than one is used. Almost worth buying a second for yourself when that regular can't make it.
Loosen up over there across the pond and give it a shot!

I tend to play alone so I use a speaker on every round. As I don't use a cart it's a nice way to relax between shots. When I play with partners, one of the guys also uses a speaker and the group I play with like the music. I can't understand why people don't like music on the course, as long as you're aware of others around you it adds another dimension to your playing experience.

I guess it doesn't bother me too much when someone else plays their tunes in passing on the course, but even nowadays those Bluetooth speakers don't have great sound. Then there's people that play music through their phones... Yeah that's just awful. Like others have mentioned, wear headphones instead of subjecting everyone else to your music choices, that applies in golf and otherwise.
If a course played music that my friends and I loved through a decent sound system, that'd be awesome for a change of vibe, but still I would always defer to people that want the standard peaceful outdoor experience.

I played a 4 man scramble with a guy that had a speaker playing loud.
The front nine it was all rap. And we just could not get a rhythm going.
At the turn he switched to classic rock music and we burned down that back nine.
Then he said, "Why couldn't we score on the front?" Hmmm, such a mystery.

Me and my buddies always have some classic rock going, or something that’s less likely to offend. The reality is unless you’re waiting right behind someone at the tee box which isn’t good etiquette anyway, you won’t hear my music as it’s loud enough for me and my friends but not for everyone else. The point of golf is to get out and have fun, the music helps.
As for the product my main concern is the subscription cost on something like this. If you aren’t paying the $50 subscription which likely won’t stay that price. Does your hardware effectively become useless without it? I’m thinking of Arcos where it became really too pricey for your average golfer to continue to enjoy it unless you were grandfathered in to use sensors without a subscription.

I don’t listen to music on the golf course - I’m playing and thinking golf ffs! - and I’m sure most of us definitely do not want to listen to anyone else’s music on the golf course😡 It wouldn’t surprise (or upset) me if many clubs here in the UK introduced rules to ban it. Earbuds sound like a solution but hey, might that stop you hearing shouts of “Fore!”? So, maybe even those aren’t such a good idea. Otherwise these Blue Tees products do look very well thought out. Would be nice if those sold in the UK had ‘“centre” spelt the way we spell it 😉
