WOW ! WHAT A MEMORY ! I WAS 11 YR OLD AT THAT GANE AND IM 56 YR OLD NOW ! THEY PLAYED WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS BY QUEEN AT TGE END ! 🤣 NICE ONE MATE IM SAVING THUS 👍👊🏴
I was lucky enough to be sat in burnden stand with my dad, I was 12, I’ve lived through 2 amazing spell’s as a bolton fan but this is when football was best, happy memories
@@noone-ty3lz Great days indeed. If you check the list of videos I've uploaded you can see Bolton 2 Luton 1 from that very season. Your golden days were to begin 3 or 4 years after this.
I was 6 and sat in the Great Lever End with my dad. My biggest memory of the day was when my dad took me on the pitch at the end. It seems a lifetime ago. My dad is 75 now and I'm pleased to say he was with me behind the goal in the North Stand when Bolton beat Barnsley to reach the Play-off Final. No pitch invasion from us this time though!
That’s what call a football ground, remember all those names by watching the Big Match and by actually seeing them. They showed a London team for main highlights and then highlights from Granada, ATV, Tyne Tees, etc , happy days.
Absolutely. I was 7, but I was there in the Manny Road stand and remember a lot about it. He was a shrewd man, skilfully brought through youngsters when the club had little cash to splash and the addition of Worthington and Gowling saw us over the line.
Best bit is right at the beginning when Jim McDonough gives that fan a mouthful for decapitation with a scarf. Happy days indeed. Proper football proper players proper grounds. Bolton..super Bolton!
Its a lovely clip as it shows Ian Greaves reflecting on what hes achieved from 5.10 onwards, in those pre playoff days, Wanderers had missed promotion by a whisker on the two previous seasons. With the benefit of hindsight, its a real shame that we came down two seasons later whilst Southampton, Coventry, Norwich, QPR etc all established themselves. And the financial shit show that took the best part of the 80s and a plummet to the 4th div by 87 to get over.

Yep. Life was much more simple before £ came along and ruined it all. We paid £90K for Frank Worthington!

We were posh. Me, my dad and my brother had season tickets in the Manchester Road stand! Great memories 😁
Ian Greaves - very underrated Manager
Some good players in that team
Happy Memories - I was 9 at the time and at that game with my Father

Four games in total I think. A big season in the history of both clubs.

LOL 3:15 George Mulhall looks as if he's been cloned from Ron Atkinson!
