As someone who has experience with MSC here are a few more things to consider. -The dining rooms may be limited, but there is amazing food which is worth the fewer dining options. -Boarding the cruise was a struggle. It lasted 2+ hours -If an excursion is canceled randomly you will only be refunded. No other compensations occurred for our time -make sure to check out the rotating free gelato stand at the pool deck. All free and has some of the best gelato to this day
What's at work here is simple economics. You get what you pay for. I do agree the ship is beautiful, if you like the styling. For the prices MSC charges you are getting great value. My wife and I travel with Viking and while it is very expensive the service and amenities are perfect and always included. No casino, roller coaster, rock wall, water park, etc.. Just the way we like it. I suggest trying Viking and you may never see cruising the same. Thanks for the nice video.

This is the best review video, hands down....we are going to be cruising on the same ship and good to know we made the right choice. Looking fwd to it. I booked this with a little hesitation because my friend was on the first cruise out of Canaveral since it came over in October. His was the dreadful five hour wait to get on accompanied by all kinds of other bad experiences. My thinking was they’re going to iron out some of this stuff to an extent before our cruise comes along so we’re hoping for the best but looking forward to experiencing a different cruise line just to see the differences.
Just booked the Meraviglia New England/Canada cruise yesterday. It’s our second cruise on her, the first being a 4 day out of Port Canaveral in February 2022. Thanks for your honest review. I agree with your negatives and positives. I did not get the drinks package for this booking but may reconsider after being reminded of the limited possibilities for even coffee. Still feel like we got a really good deal for the basic fare, so it’s worth it to upgrade. Also, I think it’s important to realize that MSC is a different atmosphere than, for instance, the Marci Gras. We actually did a 7 day on the Mardi Gras and got on the Meraviglia the next day. We realized that, even though the Mardi Gras had a lot to offer, the Meraviglia is more our type of cruise as we cruise Princess fairly often. Each person needs to know their cruising style. I think often when a person goes on the wrong ship (for them), they rule out cruising altogether. Best to do your research!
I have been on the Meraviglia 2 times once in the Mediterranean and once in the Caribbean. We did not have a long wait to get on the ship. If you get a drink pkg you can enjoy unlimited amazing coffee at the Infinity bar on deck 5. You can usually add a drink and wifi pkg bundled when you book for only $100 to $150 more. Great Value!

I just finished comparing prices with Norwegian & you’re right, prices for MSC is definitely affordable. My first time cruising with MSC. I did NCL 5x, Carnival 1x & Royal Caribbean 1x. I love cruising because it’s relaxing.
Your video is quite interesting. You gave details and facts that older passengers would be targeting for which is different but in a good way. I went a smaller MSC cruise back in 2019 and they do not have a self serve Gelato bar however they did give out free Gelato on the pool deck. I am a bit disappointed in the dining options but from our past experience with MSC, it wasn't a deal breaker. We have an upcoming trip with Meraviglia this June and glad to see your feedback, thanks!

I just got off of this msc cruise a few days ago. my option on it is. they have great and entertainment. lots of fun things to do on board like waterslides or the inside and outside pool. The service was pretty good but they out of thing quickly like strawberry Dacarri mix, soda, and even water bottles at one point. A thing I was not a fan of was the buffet, the food was not that good, and it was the same every day. my sister who went with me is gf (gluten free) and they didn't have many options for her. she mostly just ate rice all the time because that was about all she could eat on ship, but overall, I had a good time.
we were on the same sailing. On the last night, after asking staff and being sent to 3 separate wrong places, we found the soft serve FREE ice cream on deck 15th on the 'ice cream bar'. There was no signage showing that it was free, or that it was soft serve options. They had soft serve flavors vanilla, chocolate, lemon and strawberry, and even free toppings. I wish I had known that earlier in the week. Our kids were looking for that all week. And yes... no free coffee to be found in the lower decks (5 or 6). I looked everywhere.

Tried the MSC Divina back around when she started sailing in Florida. Loved it. Like sailing on a European style ship. and also in the yacht club. Kinda compared it with princess. Then went back a couple years later and was disappointed it was alot of american food replaced the international food. Tried the sea shore last year and again in the yacht club. Noticed the regular area of the ship resembled carneval alot. So now looking at celeberty equanox and the msc merigvellia and going to book MSC as we like the ship and the line.. We noticed that MSC has another new ship coming out that resembles royal and thats fine. Having two different type of ships looks like it will cater to the family fun ships as well as the other ships that appeal to older crowds Like your take on the ship Thanks for your review
My wife & I sailed on the MSC Meraviglia for a 13 day, Caribbrean repositioning cruise from NYC to Miami, Fla. in Oct.-Nov. 2019 & liked it, but didn't love it! However, 11 days into the cruise, my wife had undetermined heart problems & after one day in their infirmary, forced us to leave the ship in Jamaica, less than 48 hrs. before arriving in Miami! We had to 'fend for ourselves' & make our own way home, w/o any inquiry from the company! Heartless!

Thank you for your video. We are looking to book a Mediterranean cruise on this ship in 2023. I don't mind them not having self serve ice cream. I prefer less of the activities provided on many other ships, esp RCI. I don't like the multiple theme park style activities but prefer the relaxation a cruise offers. I just booked a 10 day on this ship for mid Feb. Was deciding between MSC & NCL & went with value. Hope I'm right. Only have done RCL & not since 2019. Looking for peace, quiet, relaxation & Spa & the private island. Love to hear more about Ocean Cay & the Spa. Thank you for a well balanced review. It matches a number of others I've watched for MSC overall & the Merivaglia.
10:10 regarding the Carnival Mardi Gras: Chibang, Pig & Anchor, and Cucina Del Capitano all cost extra. Not sure what "Craft Beer Made On Board" is, but I can't imagine it's included. Still, certainly far more options on a Carnival ship, but not quite as many as listed

I will say, regarding boarding times, doesn't that usually fall on the local port and the TSA agents present there more than the cruiseline itself? I've seen other videos from vloggers who took the same ship from different ports who said they were able to board in an hour or less, so I wonder if MSC isn't to blame.

Hi there. Just came off this MSC. A lot info is correct, but have to sau these: Boarding was the best i experienced, food was top, shows the best, room and restrooms nice, buffet good, restaurant and crew carrying. Only thing bother me was the destination(ocean cay). Will go again and again.

@@Stephanie-vx4zi so there are bars and there are waiters around the pool but the it's somewhat spotty and slow. (I took my mom on the first one and she enjoyed it and my girlfriend on the 2nd one and she also enjoyed)
I just watched your video. I am booked on the Meraviglia in Oct, but leaving from Brooklyn Cruise Terminal for 11 days to New England and Canada. The videos I have watched have made me excited about my cruise. This the first cruise I am taking since losing my spouse. I chose MSC as that no way memories to op up about the ship. I would like an opinion, do you think MSC attracts an older clientele? I am not a show person, or anything like that, I have though booked excursions, and specialty dining. I am just looking forward to getting away as if has been just over two years since I became a widow.

Everything free comes from the Dining Room or Buffet. They do offer ice cream in those places but it is not self serve. Drinks include fruit juice mixes, coffee, tea, and water.

Why did so many people Have suit cases? Why didn’t they drop them off at bag claim? I recently went on a mscdivina out of Canaveral! We had a 9 am call time and arrived there on time, got through security and after ten min of waiting after paper work, we got our number called and was on the boat by 10:30am! So I am shocked to see so many people waiting and having difficulty?

MSc is for adult couples. It’s more of an adult ship comparing to Royal Caribbean that has a lot of stuff for kids. Like all the things that are mentioned in this video. I’ve cruised with just about all ships. And msc was the best only because there were almost no kids on board do to the fact that there isn’t much for kids to do. So if u want an adult comfort cruise with full relaxation then msc will not let u down. This video doesn’t even mention the quality of dining u get in the main dining room. It’s amazing. I’m 41 I don’t want to go rock climbing or play lazor tag or play in an arcade. Which by the way they do have on msc divina. I want to relax have drinks in the sun lay in a hot tub. Get down on an Island and enjoy my self. I’m taking my next cruise 6 days on this ship. Cost with drinks and WiFi and balcony room 1231$.

Its pronounced "MeraviLia" there's the G and L but you pronounce only L, there's no such thing as Meravia.. Meraviglia stands for Marvelous in Italian, good to find out how is it spelled than using it in video wrong several times. Also the gelato thing, Italians are proud of their gelato (ice cream if you want, its the same) so they really wont stuff it into self-serv machine like americans do to sytisfy their constant need of having it right there everytime and for free. MSC is italian cruise line, privately owned by Italian family so the traditions and culture of this country is really rooted throughout the ship.. As an European myself I do understand why there's no gelato or coffee for free, Americans should not compare MSC, or in that matter any european cruise lines to amercican cruise lines, too many differences and mixing apples with oranges. Thats my point of view, certainly not meant as a hate or anything, overall nice video.
I'm not gonna lie, I was very underwhelmed. I felt like it was a cheap "basic economy" cruise with pretty lacking service and even worse amenities. It was a 2-star motel instead of a 4-star hotel that I was hoping for.
Been on Oasis 4 times and Going on Oasis of the Seas next month. Didnt pay over $2500 for 2 with a balcony and deluxe drink package. Way more updates. My friends are on this ship right now and im kinda laughing. Between the Bionic Bar, Ultimate Absuss, new resort style beach pool, toilet bowl water slide, BBQ joint, and a better Private Island. I'd say the Oasis is worth the extra 5 hundo. And listening to the announcements in 5 languages would really bother me.
My daughter is on this ship right now!!! The worst customer service out of any cruise line she has sailed with !!! Beyond appalling!!! Staff wouldn’t even accommodate a man that my daughter had invited to sit with her and her partner at dinner! The restaurant was basically empty!!!
Hi, somewhat disappointed in your review, is very harsh. MSC as well as other cruise lines make every effort to make the cruise experience as enjoyable as possible and in line with their theme. Keeping in mind there are very different cruise ship theme, such as those ships that are Americanized (Carnaval Cruise Lines) verse those ships that display a more European flavor such as MSC which is an Italian cruise line. Also, you failed to mention when complaining about delayed boarding times that this is a new home port for the Maraviglia. The MSC Devina was the prior ship and very rarely experienced delays. Passengers are normally given their boarding time and being that the Maraviglia is new to this port that may have been overlooked. So, in all fairness I would sail again at a later date and then cast your opinion. In reference to your early morning cabin service again, as you mentioned just coming out of a refit therefore having a new crew it would take a little time for things to jell. To be fair I would sail again and evaluate their services. As for your overall view of the dining, buffets and deck food service in all honestly and being a very experienced cruiser, it's really the same on other cruise lines.

I don't understand what you thought about them telling the truth Harsh? This couple was just being very honest and telling you what they liked and disliked about their cruising experience on MSC Meraviglia.... MSC is a business just like any other cruise line, notice they said at the beginning of their video " There is no such thing as a perfect cruise" Also at the end of the video they stated that they would go on a MSC cruise again, so what's the issue

Pizza is pizza it does not change from day to day and the only difference this New Yorker finds is the quality. Are you even qualified to judge New York or Italian pizza which are made similarly Please acknowledge your foreign tastes from now forward. I takes one to know one and you are clearly not even close to the qualifications a decent pizza pie. Stick to what you can comment on unequivocally.
Just came off the Meraviglia in Port Canaveral This last September, 22 days. This was the worst cruise of my life. We've been on 7 cruises before. We thought we were getting a good deal when owe saw the price but once on board we were very disappointed. For example, on 5 tours, each had one guide who spoke 5 languages, most could hardly speak English except on 2 tours. Food on a scale of 0 to 10 it was 3. Shows, were a 2, They even had a stand-up comedian on a ship with maybe 5 different nationalities. The Sounds systems, both the PA and the shows was so loud that its would hurt your ears. It was aggravating. The layout of the ship was not well thought out. The Chocolate store was ridiculously big. No one was there. A chocolate bar was way too expensive. Yes the ship was very clean, the crew was super nice, For anyone thinking of going on MSC you better compair with other companies.

They did have free soft serve ice cream at the buffet. Maybe they just added it. It is outside next to the hamburger/pizza line. It was good!

We were on the MSC Divina this past April and was awesome bad experience ( food and service) 😝
The difference in food options really is a big thing to consider
10:10 regarding the Carnival Mardi Gras: Chibang, Pig & Anchor, and Cucina Del Capitano all cost extra. Not sure what "Craft Beer Made On Board" is, but I can't imagine it's included.
Still, certainly far more options on a Carnival ship, but not quite as many as listed
Thank you for this informative video. Already booked my trip for this summer and appreciate that the feedback was mostly positive. I will say, regarding boarding times, doesn't that usually fall on the local port and the TSA agents present there more than the cruiseline itself? I've seen other videos from vloggers who took the same ship from different ports who said they were able to board in an hour or less, so I wonder if MSC isn't to blame.

great video. although i agree with most of the problems highlighted, limited dinning venue and onboard acitivies are probably nitpicking given the stupidly low price.

Hi... Was there waiters around the pool areas to bring drinks to you on your sunbed? I'm noticing on vloggs, that people say there isn't. But they seem to be on the 3 to 4 days cruises and not 7 or more. Do you remember if there was service around the pools on yours ?

Hi there. Just came off this MSC. A lot info is correct, but have to sau these: Boarding was the best i experienced, food was top, shows the best, room and restrooms nice, buffet good, restaurant and crew carrying. Only thing bother me was the destination(ocean cay). Will go again and again.

@@Stephanie-vx4zi so there are bars and there are waiters around the pool but the it's somewhat spotty and slow. (I took my mom on the first one and she enjoyed it and my girlfriend on the 2nd one and she also enjoyed)

I just watched your video. I am booked on the Meraviglia in Oct, but leaving from Brooklyn Cruise Terminal for 11 days to New England and Canada. The videos I have watched have made me excited about my cruise. This the first cruise I am taking since losing my spouse. I chose MSC as that no way memories to op up about the ship. I would like an opinion, do you think MSC attracts an older clientele? I am not a show person, or anything like that, I have though booked excursions, and specialty dining. I am just looking forward to getting away as if has been just over two years since I became a widow.

Everything free comes from the Dining Room or Buffet. They do offer ice cream in those places but it is not self serve. Drinks include fruit juice mixes, coffee, tea, and water.
MSC is the best

Why did so many people
Have suit cases? Why didn’t they drop them off at bag claim? I recently went on a mscdivina out of Canaveral! We had a 9 am call time and arrived there on time, got through security and after ten min of waiting after paper work, we got our number called and was on the boat by 10:30am! So I am shocked to see so many people waiting and having difficulty?
they did not allow anyone to drop them off until we got to another portion of the waiting line.

MSc is for adult couples. It’s more of an adult ship comparing to Royal Caribbean that has a lot of stuff for kids. Like all the things that are mentioned in this video. I’ve cruised with just about all ships. And msc was the best only because there were almost no kids on board do to the fact that there isn’t much for kids to do. So if u want an adult comfort cruise with full relaxation then msc will not let u down. This video doesn’t even mention the quality of dining u get in the main dining room. It’s amazing. I’m 41 I don’t want to go rock climbing or play lazor tag or play in an arcade. Which by the way they do have on msc divina. I want to relax have drinks in the sun lay in a hot tub. Get down on an Island and enjoy my self. I’m taking my next cruise 6 days on this ship. Cost with drinks and WiFi and balcony room 1231$.

The tonnage is incorrect.
Its pronounced "MeraviLia" there's the G and L but you pronounce only L, there's no such thing as Meravia.. Meraviglia stands for Marvelous in Italian, good to find out how is it spelled than using it in video wrong several times.
Also the gelato thing, Italians are proud of their gelato (ice cream if you want, its the same) so they really wont stuff it into self-serv machine like americans do to sytisfy their constant need of having it right there everytime and for free. MSC is italian cruise line, privately owned by Italian family so the traditions and culture of this country is really rooted throughout the ship.. As an European myself I do understand why there's no gelato or coffee for free, Americans should not compare MSC, or in that matter any european cruise lines to amercican cruise lines, too many differences and mixing apples with oranges. Thats my point of view, certainly not meant as a hate or anything, overall nice video.

I'm not gonna lie, I was very underwhelmed. I felt like it was a cheap "basic economy" cruise with pretty lacking service and even worse amenities. It was a 2-star motel instead of a 4-star hotel that I was hoping for.

Been on Oasis 4 times and Going on Oasis of the Seas next month. Didnt pay over $2500 for 2 with a balcony and deluxe drink package. Way more updates. My friends are on this ship right now and im kinda laughing. Between the Bionic Bar, Ultimate Absuss, new resort style beach pool, toilet bowl water slide, BBQ joint, and a better Private Island. I'd say the Oasis is worth the extra 5 hundo. And listening to the announcements in 5 languages would really bother me.
Yacht club is a better value compared to Royal sky class at the same price.
My daughter is on this ship right now!!! The worst customer service out of any cruise line she has sailed with !!! Beyond appalling!!! Staff wouldn’t even accommodate a man that my daughter had invited to sit with her and her partner at dinner! The restaurant was basically empty!!!
Hi, somewhat disappointed in your review, is very harsh. MSC as well as other cruise lines make every effort to make the cruise experience as enjoyable as possible and in line with their theme. Keeping in mind there are very different cruise ship theme, such as those ships that are Americanized (Carnaval Cruise Lines) verse those ships that display a more European flavor such as MSC which is an Italian cruise line. Also, you failed to mention when complaining about delayed boarding times that this is a new home port for the Maraviglia. The MSC Devina was the prior ship and very rarely experienced delays. Passengers are normally given their boarding time and being that the Maraviglia is new to this port that may have been overlooked. So, in all fairness I would sail again at a later date and then cast your opinion. In reference to your early morning cabin service again, as you mentioned just coming out of a refit therefore having a new crew it would take a little time for things to jell. To be fair I would sail again and evaluate their services. As for your overall view of the dining, buffets and deck food service in all honestly and being a very experienced cruiser, it's really the same on other cruise lines.

I don't understand what you thought about them telling the truth Harsh? This couple was just being very honest and telling you what they liked and disliked about their cruising experience on MSC Meraviglia.... MSC is a business just like any other cruise line, notice they said at the beginning of their video " There is no such thing as a perfect cruise"
Also at the end of the video they stated that they would go on a MSC cruise again, so what's the issue

Pizza is pizza it does not change from day to day and the only difference this New Yorker finds is the quality. Are you even qualified to judge New York or Italian pizza which are made similarly Please acknowledge your foreign tastes from now forward. I takes one to know one and you are clearly not even close to the qualifications a decent pizza pie. Stick to what you can comment on unequivocally.
Just came off the Meraviglia in Port Canaveral This last September, 22 days. This was the worst cruise of my life. We've been on 7 cruises before. We thought we were getting a good deal when owe saw the price but once on board we were very disappointed. For example, on 5 tours, each had one guide who spoke 5 languages, most could hardly speak English except on 2 tours. Food on a scale of 0 to 10 it was 3. Shows, were a 2, They even had a stand-up comedian on a ship with maybe 5 different nationalities. The Sounds systems, both the PA and the shows was so loud that its would hurt your ears. It was aggravating. The layout of the ship was not well thought out. The Chocolate store was ridiculously big. No one was there. A chocolate bar was way too expensive.

For anyone thinking of going on MSC you better compair with other companies.
