Another fun fact about Ghostbusters, Winston was supposed to be in the entire film and not just show up in the second half of the film. But when Eddie Murphy turned it down they pretty much minimized the role. Also the reason Eddie Murphy turned down the role in Ghostbusters was because he was already obligated to a little known film that came out the same year as Ghostbusters.... Beverly Hills Cop. So if Eddie Murphy would have tooken the job to be Winston in Ghostbusters we probably wouldn't have got you iconic character Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop. Super dope connection with the two iconic films.
Early draft Ghost Smashers was written for Akroyd, Belushi and Murphy. Ramis turned Murphy's character into his character when Murphy turned down the role. The character Winsston was added in the writing of the shooting script because Akroyd wanted to keep diversity in the film, so Winston was not exactly Eddie Murphy's part. However his lines were mostly the Murphy lines Ramis knew were outside his Egon's personality.
@@skandtoI’m wondering the same but I will say this. I almost walked out. Might have if I was rich. Afterlife was enjoyable for me. But Frozen Empire?! 🤢
Honorable mention to a favorite of mine: "The Ghost Breakers" (1940). Starring Bob Hope, who called it a favorite of his, because he got to be heroic instead of a coward. Based on the play "The Ghost Breaker", which was first a silent film in 1914, and 1922. It was such a hit it inspired many "Ghost" films. (Was even remade by Martin & Lewis ("Scared Stiff" (1953) with a Bob Hope cameo.) Dan Aykroyd has named it as one of his "Ghostbusters" inspirations. As always, thank you so very much for the video.
Original Ghostbusters is owned by Filmation which is now Classic Media which is owned by Dreamworks which, in turn, is owned by Universal. Not saying it would be impossible but there would be some hoops to jump through...
John Belushi died while Dan Akroyd was writing a line for Venkman. Now four days later as my mother is in labor with me he’s buried. The next day (my birthday) the front cover of the newspaper shows Bill Murray laying a flower on his casket. Yeah it’s a famous picture

The special effects in the ‘84 film were pretty cool
When Harold Ramis appeared as Egon's ghost, I teared up. That was a perfect tribute to their lost friend.
About that he passed away like in 2014 way before Afterlife was shown in movie theaters

After seeing Frozen Empire the other day, I walked out of the theater and went to a nearby liquor store and bought a bottle of Dan Aykroyd's vodka.
Is that a good or a bad thing

Luigi mansion
The Real Ghostbusters and Filmation Ghostbusters should have a crossover in animated or comic form
I watched both so that would be awesome
Original Ghostbusters is owned by Filmation which is now Classic Media which is owned by Dreamworks which, in turn, is owned by Universal. Not saying it would be impossible but there would be some hoops to jump through...
Also Muncher in Afterlife, was blue as another tribute to John Belushi, of his Jake Blues character
John Belushi also partly inspired Slimer.

Wasn’t as excited bout being African as he was italian😂😂😂😂
Saw it yesterday, and I enjoyed it a lot. Not perfect, but very fun.
“Fun” is starting to become the newest rating status.
@@themeanhornet1070it was bad. To me. Well horrible really.
Saw Frozen Empire earlier today and it was awesome!
I went to go see it this past Saturday. It was one of the worst films I’ve ever watched.
What do you think is the best thing about the original Ghostbusters compared to the ones we know now?
Great stuff!!!
5:41 am glad to hear your ancestors are from Kenya... I'm from Kenya, it's all love from this side
Sorry you got the crunch bar reference wrong it was after the disaster in the library as they walked back to the university before getting fired
I watched the original cartoon from Filmation and the movie cartoon series. I really enjoyed them both
You didn't even mention "Ghostbusters 2016"!
The original card test has one of the victims of the evil car Christina, so I guess he was a ghost too if Christina came out first.
Love the story. Guard your DNA. Will not be long till we see countries use it against individuals.
Alien was five years before Ghostbusters, and Weaver did several films in between. She was hardly "coming off of Alien".
Could you make a video of some of the most brutal acts that magneto has ever done please 🙏?
Even extreme ghostbusters was good in the 90's!
Absolutely impressive.
Dang less than 6k views in 2 days. What else can they do to reignite this franchise?
Ivan Reitman did supply the voice for both Slimer and Zuul.
I liked Slimer showing up in the recent video game.
Very impressive.
The only facts/Easter eggs that I didn't know was in reference to the other Ghostbusters animated show.
if frozen empire is half as good as after life it well be awesome.
Rip ivan reitman 😢
It was alright. Felt rushed. only like 5 ghost though
Maybe they should make Ghostbusters alive action tv shows
Ghostbusters has always been a Sci fi films to me, never seen it as a comedy!
A movie can be multiple genres. It's usually in the category of sci-fi comedies. It was literally written by comedians
That thumbnail is NOT cool
Gotta love all the comments from people who are assuming this is a review of the new movie.... 🤣🤣
Is this video about the new movie or the older ones? I don't want to spoil myself, since we don't get the movie until April 11th
The entire Ghostbusters franchise before the new movie. So there are no spoilers.
@@variant Thank you so much, this International release date has me fearful of social media
And no nods to the hated Answer The Call film
Howdy!
Did AI write the script also??
The shock & pure fear I had when you mentioned the fact that some form of Gozer exists irl is crazy! XD
A
i spotted every last one of these.
I've never seen Ghostbusters. 😥
go watch it then :D
it's popular so it's not hard to find
No offense but any real Ghostbusters fan knew all of this anyways.
And there's like 10 of them out there. Yes, people watch Netflix
Not only that, but they would also enjoy this film regardless & still have fun with it.
Ahh but what about the casual fans.. or new fans of the GBs… think bout that? …no.. probably not.
So true. Which Ghostbusters movie is the most popular?
A true fan would also just be interested in this too without being a jerk about it.
🇵🇷🥳🥳🥳🇵🇷
When you come across a pile of dog shit, you tend not to care if there’s Easter eggs hidden inside it…
🙄
This movie missed the mark for me.
The original Ghostbusters?? You don't hear that very often.
didn't ask
