It's crazy how differently we do a lot of things compared to you guys even though we are a similar sized dairy. There isn't one right way to do things, that is what makes dairy farming so interesting. Keep up the good work.
You think he does things differently than you I am just down the road from him and I am amazed at how differently we do things to either of you guys! If you want to see another guy who is roughly the same size as us doing something completely different again go to Andrew in NZ “ The once a day farmer “ actually we are probably closer to him than you, and about half way between the Andrews.

Brill video, Glad you are seeing benefits of all your hard work and management decisions.
Can you show us your head yoke set up? Be very keen to copy it. Looks very simple but effective being able to operate from the rear of the cow. Cheers
There might be a few super interesting videos if you could bring RedHouse in to evaluate your herd and let them advise you on breeding theory for a few seasons. Good bull doing a good job. Looking forward to seeing the other one.
Nature does
what Nature knows Best
Regeneration 💪 🌻 😍
Always a great interesting video to see your thoughts on the diary job. We run similar size herd in Cornwall but autumn calving. You would see massive cost savings in summer months by grazing stale in calf cows compared to Tmr feeding and housing part stale part fresh cows. Look forward to next instalment, maybe some you tube revenue go towards some oil on your crush!!
well its good to see a smile on your face , your hard work has paid off , good for you , great job , and I have noticed that the grass has kicked in again good thing too i have now stopped buffer feeding
Beautiful
what a great set up you have for scanning cows .great job
well done on the conception rates
I'd be interested to hear more about your calving patterns? For example, we had ours inline with the dairy to meet summer demands (eg sold to ice cream company).
Thanks for your time/videos.
Yours,
Christopher.
Good for you busy calfing season ahead
Congratulations! Looking forward to the Ai video! If you ever go for collars, one word..sensehub!👌🏻
100%. SenseHub tightened up our herd unbelievable. We were 12 weeks breeding at 8% empty and 2 years later 9week breeding and 5.5% empty.
Andrew, if you want to get cows in calf when they should be in calf SenseHub will do it. I will say no more.
Great Video, The scan result is great, thanks for sharing
Interesting how correlated apple growing in Dorset (sugar content) is to milk yield in Ireland!
Good video Andrew I hope you are right in that we are turning a corner 😅
Congratulations 🐄 👏. 😁
Good results 👍
Good stuff
Seems like a lot of work calving for so long with gaps in the middle. Seeing you have a focus on grass why not have a block calving in spring to maximise grass eaten?
Facilities are the main reason, have to keep stock moving through.
Why not a 12 weeks of calving?? Keep the calving pattern compact.
Not everyone follows that Teagasc rubbish
Considering collars? How much would you have saved on AI straws?
quick question about the clover, now I get that its a nitrogen fixer, but do the cows get out of it the same as whet they would normal grass species?
I think it's close yes, the issue is clover yields less and you need a crazy amount to provide a decent amount of N.
Where did you get the McCarrens jacket???????
Do you get automatic alerts for drying off cows so you don't end up with no dry period or long enough of a dry period?
👏👏👍👍💪💪🇮🇪🇮🇪🙏🙏
Why do you AI and have Bulls? Is the AI for breeding new milking cows from special bulls, or are you simply increasing chances and covering all bases?
