when she is able to portray Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Kennedy while holding the style of Prescilla Presley, you know this is the best music vid of all time
Some people don't understand this song/vid is not about what it literally says (money is the anthem). If you look at the video you see what Lana is getting at. This is a persona of a first lady (Jackie) who believes that money and power makes her and her husband (President JFK) invincible, because that's what it seemed like at first... until something happens (he gets shot) and she realizes that money and power doesn't make you invincible, and even if you're the most powerful figures in America tragedy can still strike. This video is a mix of that invincible feeling that most young people have, and then the realization of reality after a wake-up call, like a tragedy.
Megan94824 I think it’s also trying to point out the idea that as a country we have a tendency to worship opulence because it is a distraction from the darkness that happens in everyday life. It’s a double negative in some ways.

she is so underrated even now she is so underrated one of the best musicians of this time that we are in. not everybody could fit in this type of style that she does. this woman's soul is timeless.
chacha ch Its it's it's so true what you're saying now that I look at her even more! it's like shit she is super unique, and Beyoncé totally stole this sound when she came out with her a"Beyonce" album 2013! but since Beyoncé is more popular people were just worry about her. also I heard at Beyoncé's album 2013, now looking at Lana, this is way more superior than and more original in every way you could think! it's always the freaking over rated singer that get on the way!
Iconic. Lana is so underrated it frustrates me. She consistently puts out wonderful albums. Her voice is unlike any other and is absolutely beautiful. I could never understand how she doesn’t get the attention she deserves like the mainstream artist.
She used to be mainstream but she's fallen off the radar unfortunately. Her older music is still very popular and millions love her but when I say she's fallen off the radar I mean her newer music is doing pennies on the dollar compared to her older songs in terms of success and attention.
I'm sorry I love lana and her whole true vintage thing but I love priscilla and Elvis more and I wasn't sure of her getting the role but priscilla isn't having it

for doing great music, she is not underrated, actually it’s rare that great musicians have millions of view. In fact her mainstream success is because she looks like a doll with a great aesthetic, not her great music.
For those who have no idea what the video is about, here's the story behind it: On the beginning, Lana is representing Marilyn Monroe and her performance (Happy Birthday, Mr President- 1962) to John F. Kennedy. Through the rest of the video, she lives a perfect life with beautiful family enjoying their wealth and living life to the fullest. Sadly, it all stops at the end of video, due to Kennedy's assasination, which changed her entire life. AND OF COURSE, ITS A STORY, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH LANA'S PERSONAL LIFE. Glad I helped. Enjoy this masterpiece! ♥
Me too. I felt her pain throughout the video. This is so brilliantly made. From the mindblowing lyrics to the nostalgia within a nostalgic video to the love story unfolding and the horror that eventually takes place and the loss and grief and bitter sweet ending.

Before it was " popular" to like her! Lol cause all the celebs love her! I been loving her! Blue jeans Fav song tho! This whole cd tho really all on my phone playlist! X Lana
I feel like this video, is mostly all symbols. At the beginning with her playing Marilyn, she wasn't trying too look like her, yes she did sing happy birthday but she wasn't going with the short blonde hair and long sparkly dress. She's trying to represent the love that both of these ladies has towards JFK. Yes rocky is black and played JFK, but who cares.. I think it would have been way to cheesy and corny if they added somebody else. I think this was all lanas vision, and it came out perfect! I would've wished they did like a mini movie for this song!
Yes yes yes! This is my favorite Lana music video and I love it because it is so genuine to Lana's taste and vision to her song not what some screenwriter/producer chose to do for it.
I personally think that Lana would be an amazing actress. she's beautiful, sweet and she can really portray emotion in her videos and in her songs you can really feel her emotion and I just really want to see her in a movie
i don’t think anyone has been able or will ever able to capture a cinematic ethereal experience the way she used to. this era will forever be remembered in the history of alternative music. it is timeless and emotional even after 8 years of its release. everytime i watch any music video from hers back then i can’t help but tear up everytime. she delivers the most emotional and aesthetically pleasing visual + sonic experience that no other alternative artist has been able to. She cultivated an entire genre through her persona. And defined an entire mood that allows her listeners to experience. Whenever me and my friends go on a road trip or a getaway we almost immediately play her music. I’m so happy to be alive to witness her artistry and songwriting. She’s definitely one of the most beautiful artists to have ever came out of the 21st century.
@o o How do you know I'm part of the gen Z? I don't remember saying this before. Pls don't be so mad, just love the music. I also know what "aesthetic" means. But this also has a different meaning. You obviously got angry at something, you came up to me and the gen Z. Please calm down, btw Lana is still aesthetic 😉

She's literally one of the most important artists to emerge in the 2010s and she's the centre of discussion all the time. Maybe she was underrated till like 2016, but definitely not anymore since everyone knows her.
for doing great music, she is not underrated, actually it’s rare that great musicians have millions of view. In fact her mainstream success is because she looks like a doll with a great aesthetic, not her great music.
For those who have no idea what the video is about, here's the story behind it:
On the beginning, Lana is representing Marilyn Monroe and her performance (Happy Birthday, Mr President- 1962) to John F.
