The monologue is a true masterpiece. The song doesn't make as much sense without it. "I was in a winter of my life and the men I met along the road were my only summer"...Beautiful.

Not to be dramatic or anything but this song changed my life
same. I got the "been tryin' hard not to get into trouble but I-, I got a war on my mind" tattooed on my rib. Honestly when I lost the love of my life, I just wanted quick love. It wasn't healthy but it felt good to just be wanted by someone. The healthy relationships I was in were not "him" or like "him" and I wasn't happy. This song just speaks to me and my early 20's. I traveled, camped in the desert, put myself in stupid situations. To me, this song is a reminder of a time that I was able to grow out of. All the lessons I learned. Sometimes when i'm feeling hurt even an episode of extreme manic feelings, I listen to this. I get my cry session over and live my best life.

Nothing can ever top this. No song, no artist, not even Lana herself with another track. This song was so epic, so raw, so dreamy that it made a whole generation appreciate life just a tiny bit more and get a glimpse of what true freedom feels like. I remember the first time I saw this video was when I was 15 too (I'm 23 now) and I remember feeling the same way. and I can't explain it, but after seeing this video I changed and I really put it in on this video and Lana and how she is able to turn her sadness into power and her ability to not just accept life as it is, but to make it into something beautiful and is able to feel free in a society that likes to put labels on everyone. 2 years ago I saw Lana sing for the first time in real life and I wept the whole time because Lana and this song is the reason I am able to be the free person I am today. Sorry I know that was a-lot, but I remember when I was 15 and remember feeling as you do, and it is a beautiful feeling. xoxo.

8 YEARS and I'm still not over this song, I never will. No words can describe the emotions it makes me feel. Maybe because I've always romanticized that "riding free" lifestyle as well, and fantasized about finding my people... people that I would really bond with and go on an open road adventure, having fun, feeling timeless, wild and free, and feeling home.

I’ve met Lana after one of her concerts. I cannot describe the energy this woman gives. Her voice is soothing, her words are like velvet. Her smile can light up a whole room. Lana is a singer, a powerful one. She is a poet. Her music is art. There is no one, and I mean no one like her. Not even close. This song, this prologue and epilogue. This is a masterpiece. I just wished people would truly appreciate the greatness that Lana is.

Lana got criticised early on in her career because she was ahead of her time. Not everyone would understand the message and storytelling in this song but not everyone needs to. She creates art from ride to arcadia. It’s not something that’d go viral on tiktok and then be forgotten. Her art is timeless and it’ll be appreciated for decades to come.

honestly, i like the vibe of some of her songs, but i feel very sorry for the life she had and i don't think it should be seen in a chromatic or pretty way. Evidently, she was drugged, looking for relationships with several men and freedom at any cost, due to problems in her life that she couldn't solve. It's sad to see the direction her life has taken, as well as that of many... There's nothing so beautiful and poetic about it, just a girl who got lost.

I feel like our generation don't know how to deal with sadness. We get so shamed for sharing our emotions even if denying them means denying a part of us. This song helped me process my pain and let it out in a productive way and not be ashamed or embarassed. Sadness is the way to happiness and just like the happy moments the sad ones don't last forever and they would come to an end .

I got the words “just ride” tattooed on my arm last week. I couldn’t be more proud of it. This song means the world to me. It’s transcendental, makes me feel so free and happy to exist, despite all the tribulations I may face, knowing that a simple ride in my car, windows down, hand out in the wind can clear the mind and remind me that I am okay, that I am alive and well. It grounds me and brings me back to earth. This video and the opening and closing monologues are something else as well. I never would’ve thought a person’s music would becomes such an engrained part of my identity (now literally) and my life but I am so happy it is. I met Lana this year at her concert in Minneapolis and 9 months later had a quote of her own mind written on my body forever. I’m very happy with it. Thank you for being there, Lana, even though you don’t even realize how you’ve helped me and changed my life.

I got alcohol poisoning in September 2013 I was 17 years old. I died in the life flight on the way to the bigger hospital. I was revived. I woke up still drunk off my ass. I asked the nurse if she minded if I sang a song. She didn’t mind. I sang Ride. This song is my all time favorite and has changed my life. I even sang it the first time I got alcohol poisoning. I sang it through a lot of periods of my life. Now it’s 12 years later and the meaning is different but still brings me back..

I relate to her too because my dad as well called me a chameleon. I become whoever I feel the safest with and that’s who I am. I’m not a specific person, I change as does the ocean. Yes, I have interests, and yes I have a personality, but it is ever changing as is the ocean and every living day. I love Lana for the same reasons. We relate in that way. I love her music. It feels free, it feels like summer (where I’m most alone and most myself), and it feels like me.

Wow this music video was just...wow. I can't really begin to describe how beautiful this was. Everything, the monologue, the images, the lyrics, the music, Lana herself. I could feel everthing, listening to the song, I just wanted to leave the life that I'm living now and start a new one, somewhere far away where I would just ride until dawn. I love it when music does that to you, makes you feel this incredible feeling and takes you to a whole new place. I'm writing this with tears in my eyes, never have I been this affected by music before, I guess Lana has the power to do that to you. I feel like this song embodies what she was talking about when she made that post. The freedom to be the woman you are without the world attacking you. Lana has been speaking truths since day one. Her music hits topics that most people and woman don't want to talk about or ashamed of. We all have the right to go through our journey and learn our lesson anyway we really please. There are always consequences to the choices we make, good and bad, but it's our life. Women get chastised so much for how they live their life and Lana always talked about the hard unspoken parts.

I'm a 47 year old white man. I listened to Lana one whole summer every day when I built a dry stack stone patio and wall around my pool without experience. It came out absolutely amazing. I was told by a Mason what I built would cost a home owner north of 100k. When I stand back and look at it now with all the flowers grown and the features mature, I just think about how building it and listening to Lana was an amazing form of meditation.
