Anybody would like to present one's own version of song's lyrics translation into English? I'd very much like to know the meaning, and even the history of this song, it's somewhat nostalgic to me.

From what I can understand, it's a song about a traveler getting lost and repeatedly getting mislead by passersby. But instead of getting angry they're now singing laughing about it after stopping to rest at the side of a river. They're relaying the events of the day and calling it a silly story.
I wish I could give a literal translation and more information about the song's background, but I myself am having a hard time finding anything!
