Towns on the Colorado Joint Line - Sedalia, CO

The Colorado Joint Line is a double track line that runs North and South along the Front Range from Denver to Pueblo. Between Palmer Lake and South through Colorado Springs the line is single track. Now used by the Union Pacific and BNSF the original Denver & Rio Grande began construction southward from Denver in 1870. Over the years small towns have sprung up along the line including Sedalia which is an unincorporated town of about 200 located in Douglas County along U.S. Route 85 which leads 8 miles southeast to Castle Rock and north 24 miles to Denver.

Right off Highway 67 was the route to our cabin when I was a kid. Cool video! We were right across from the Sprucewood inn.

Nicely done. I got married at Gabriel's. The ceremony was interrupted by a Southbound unit coal train's horn. I didn't mind. Your drone was right over a very good bakery. Excellent pastries and breakfast burritos FYI. Seems to be less coals loads than before. Sign of the times I suppose.

@@donfeight2967 When I travel HW 85, and I see a coal consist coming South, I will get off 85, travel the "back way", and park behind Gabriel's next to the tracks just to watch the consist go by. I tell my wife "I'm copping a train". She thinks I'm a bit off, but she tolerates my strange hobby :) Your drome shots are premium by the way.
