Nothing better than recreational tillage. My 8R has a brand new pair of gloves hanging from the monitor bar for the past two years. Maybe I'll use them in the spring. 😂
I am learning a lot of information about farming watching your videos. Itv is an unpretentious and genuine format. I grew up in a farming area in Australia agriculture, agricultural mechanics etc. was a mandatory subject to study. Nice house. Very cosy. Keep up the good work with your videos.
Retired 4th generation New England apple grower here, first time commenting, having subscribed for a while. Great job with the videos, our family ran IH equipment for all generations. You are a very patient teacher!
Thank you for the info on the rolling machine operation. I have seen these around my home state of Michigan and wondered what they were actually doing.
12:06 We finally meet the Carlson family Matriarch! You two make a handsome couple♡ Great video Cale. Btw- I know that you love your cows.. Do you have any that are ~pets? If so, please show them off.
I use a roller after a heavy rain to bust up the soil so the pea's, bean's, canola and other crops emerge a lot better. Ya it's good to push in small rocks too. Degelman is the best roller made by far.
Silly man! White corn goes into potatoes chips? 🤔 So one must deduce that potatoes go into corn chips! 🙃 Just had poke your rib a bit. Have a good day! 🤣 👋🤠
Please don't forget to praise your son for a job well done, he deserves it. It seemed to me that you emphasize too often and pay attention to mistakes. We all learned from our mistakes, that's fine, but I feel like more time in his video was spent discussing mistakes.
In a recent video, as you finished a field, you mentioned you were moving 20 miles to the next field. I know your operation is huge, but that comment made me wonder, how many acres do you farm? I'm sure the number will blow me away.
If I may be so bold? A nice way of checking oil, but I doubt whether this is so accurate. As a mechanic, I was taught to check the tractor engine every morning before you start it, or to turn it off in a place where it is horizontal. Wait ten minutes for the oil to settle, and then wipe the dipstick with a cloth. Insert the dipstick and remove it again. This is the only way to do it right. I don't know what a tractor engine costs in the USA, but it would be more than $20,000.

Tight space loading white corn, maybe try arguing corn into grain cart then load truck out in open.

You don't lose gloves; you strategically place them in many locations, so you have the gloves when you want or need them!
Cale, you forgot your gloves....
😅

Have you ever thought of leaving a pair of gloves in each vehicle?
Invent a machine that you tow behind the combine when you harvest to grind or cut the razor stubble .
You could moldboard plow. Best for drought releases the heat.
Like they said before the Dust Bowl "Rain follows the plow".
👋😊
Question when loading out white corn would it be easier loading the grain cart and then dumping in the trailer

80-$100k They have about 1 1/2" range between full
and add. He checked it when he got to it in the morning, then warmed it up.
Have you ever seeded hay or alfalfa, is it profitable to grow. I realize your set up equipment wise for corn and soy beans. Just curious.
Cale, how is Laura holding up with the loss of her grandpa?

Why don't you disc at an angle?
