My old man bought one of the original versions of these round about 1980. Most parents don't think too much about their kids when making vehicle purchase decisions, beyond the usual safety issues. But this made the best god damn playhouse a kid could ever hope for, even when it's just sitting in your driveway. Some of my best, earliest childhood memories involved one of these. Apparently they're coming out with an EV version in 2025. Sure hope they make it available stateside.
Love to hear this. My boys have grown up in our 1990, traveling around the country. Playing in it when it was parked. They are now 15/13 and we just never get out in it anymore.
I’ve got a 18 year old version of the California . And it still seems like a modern van .Its exactly the same interior as this newer model apart from a couple of twists .
I inquired about one of these. When the guy told me the price, I told him I wanted to to buy the California camper van, and not the State of California. He gave me a chuckle, but I could tell he was just being polite.

1:26 Westfalia is still in business. They still make VW campers (next to Fiat, Ford, Mercedes,...). The difference is that VW formerly outsourced making the transporters into campers to Westfalia, but now VW does it in-house, as they saw how well the VW conversions by Westfalia were received.
The canvas hammock over the front seats is a must have on the 1st gen thru 79' Westfalia's. makes a great catch all for laundry, or sleep on it for kids up to 5 feet. My wife and I lived in our 64' VW Westfalia for a summer. I put a 25 gallon fresh water tank painted black on the front roof rack, and salvaged a 12v Automatic-ON pump and faucet system from an RV at the junk yard. We used an, easy to attach to the rain gutter, Hula-hoop for a shower curtain rack, and even made it so the shower faucet on/off knobs and hand held sprayer could attach to a piece of hard wood that stayed anchored to the metal roof with strong magnets. That way we could direct the water straight down from the center of the hula-hoop, or use it as a hand held sprayer. I experimented with a heat exchanger from the muffler to heat the water while we drove, by coiling copper tubing around the muffler and cycling the fresh water from the holding tank through the coils and back into the tank using the 12 volt pump. Even though it was well insulated and there was ample pressure I could regulate at any level, I never could get it to work very well.
I wish I'd read that "not in America" first! I was nostalgically remembering (and comparing) all the features my 1980 Vanagon/westie had to this and I'm not surprised they improved and added extra niceties! Why no remarks about engine power, clearance and ease/comfort of the ride? It has to get one where they're going! Love the improvements you showed with the window curtains and pop-top; old bed design looks more comfortable though!

The Westfalia version of the Eurovan was also called the "California". I briefly owned one (1993 model year) that had been imported from Canada. All of the camping gear shown in this version is very similar to the Eurovan California and Vanagon campers.

It's a great idea, although research the legalities and logistics of living in a van in your area. In some ways I like the romantic notion of vanlife or jeeplife, but I wonder how sustainable it is.
some of it is way to flimsy. You get your 400 lbs half-drunk/half asleep friend/gorilla in there and he wants to put down that weak aluminum table leg so he can put up the bed and go to sleep and it won't last long. In fact I bet a lot of VW dealership work will be clogged with fixing the wear and tear on the interior of these vans and part shortages to do that work so that's probably why it isn't coming to the US, yet. Give it time.
2018 Baby-Boomers are going to love this!!! All jokes aside, this is a hella cool rig! I don't like the absurdity that people call Rvs, so this would be right up my alley! Just imagine... living in the suburbs of Seattle, and at a moment's notice, you could go to the mountains and camp with your loved one. Super cool!
As a Seattle native i was heavily excited by this vehicle and the opportunities this would present. And then he drops the not available bomb. So close! 😭
Yeah, Baby-Boomers would be the only ones able to afford something like this. Although, in California, this might be better than wasting more than half your income on a studio apartment in a modified closet.
VW is Hitlers Revenge!! VW keeps coming out with More Crap! WOW, that is Worst than one of those Tiny Homes. So Germany & Europe Can't pay Half-a-Penny to NATO but gives BILLIONS to COMMUNIST Russia for energy and they want to sell this CRAP in the USA??!! ~~ NO WAY! ~~ The USA could make something Way Better!

My dream is to own something like this. It's a shame they won't sell them in the states despite it being called, you know, THE CALIFORNIA! After one of the most popular hippie states in the country that would totally eat this thing up for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
It’s actually called the transporter, the California is just an edition hence “T6”. Much like the eurovan (T4) was/is the transporter/multivan/caravelle/California etc.
I do too, it would widen the market and make brands more competitive and strive to keep business but also, the market would be flooded with cars that nobodys buying
in 2018 I rented a Toyota Hiace van in Japan for three weeks. It had all the same stuff as this VW, down to the electric roof mechanism, the table, chairs, fridge, sink, heater, shower, etc. It also had a microwave and a WiFi hotspot! It was a reliable, reasonably priced, awesome machine. Service it anywhere.
when i saw the furniture being pulled out i thot the same thing ... lol! 'vw meets ikea' very cool! now ... why the heck would they have one in the usa, to test? and yet not sell em here. but they will have the vw buzz here!!
The 1973 thru 75 VW Campers were Great- Porsche engine & 'everything' was functional & well made. Comfortable & a pleasure to drive. I miss it. This new one looks busy & cheap. A sad loss, a time gone by.
Not available in America? I was about to buy. I have a 1 ton pickup and tow a 30 foot travel trailer and was looking to downsize. This would be perfect. Damn you Volkswagen!
I watched this video 3x so excited for renting this van, and when I got mine, it was the California Beach instead of the Ocean. So no sink, stove, storage, shower, automated pop top, etc. It was a total bummer!
I camp in a 1986 Volkswagen Vanagon Pop-up Camper, and love it, except for the lack of a toilet and shower. I solve the first problem with a very nice Thetford porta-potty with electric flush, which fits behind the passenger seat, and can be accessed in the middle of the night, if needed. This van doesn't have room for a potty when the bed is down.(but the bed is much nicer than mine! With all the wonderful innovations, including a shower, why not add a toilet of some kind--and flush it into the waste holding tank, which is now built-in?
Too hard to make complient for every jurisdiction. And if it goes wrong, you will have many angry customers. They would prefer people went aftermarket and save vw a lot of headaches
Go buy a used Japanese van, strip it out, take it to a professional outfitter and have one custom made. There are lots of companies that specialize in this, and do it a lot better. This looks like finicky, expensive, euro-junk to me.
If VW started selling this camper in the USA they would eat up the van camper market by storm. We don't need their cars ,we need Campervans. Liked your video. Thanks
NOT SO FAST: "looks like a rinky dink, pain in the behind. Dinner is cold by the time you've put down the table, you have to cook with one knee on the seat, nothing moves without struggling and wrenching and you can only do one thing at a time. No thank you." AS NOTED BY Pluscelamemechose
Oh, how I miss my 1971 VW Campmobile. Ordered it at a VW dealer in the States, picked it up at the factory in Wiedenbrück-well, the Westphalia factory where the Kombi conversions were done-and drove it around Europe for three months. Shipped it back to the States and enjoyed it here for a number of years. Part of me would buy one today-if it were available here. Probably not as easy or possible to do that today. Certainly not buyable at the 1971 price of US$ 3,200. Oh well, at least I still have those three months of memories of camping and exploring in my VW Campmobile.
If their market research indicated a demand for these they would either import them or tool up a US VW plant to make them here. Not many people would buy them. For traveling on paved roads there are much better options for the price. They are useless for off road so adventurers wouldn't buy them. Maybe college kids for spring break but at 80K they couldn't afford it.
As long as one doesn't exceed the payload allowance the German engineers could not care less. However I don't know how obese Germans are, but I 'm thinking the van isn't sold here because of our obese citizenry. The payload allowance might not be great enough to carry an average American family. A disclaimer: I am overweight.
It's left hand drive, named after a US state, is a camper and is perfect for America yet they won't sell it here? That is a dumb decision. Volkswagen, please sell these here. People would buy this.
"It's left hand drive" 75% of the world is. "Named after a US state" Which was named after a Spanish queen. "Perfect for America " ...yet there's no giant cup holders? I admit, VW would probably sell loads over there but for you to behave like it was designed specifically for the USA is just so.....American.
@@hawk2million have you seen how tiny some cupholders are even in American cars? Also I thought most of the world was RHD. Being LHD means importing it to the US would be easier than importing a Nissan Van of some sort since America is, obviously, LHD. The main reason it'd be perfect for America is how well the original VW bus did. If we knew these still existed, we'd have a demand for them.
No, we dont want it, if its not a shitty crossover or an F150 us Muricans wont drive it. Thats just how its become here. Ford and GM are killing their sedans, and while FCA will probably go bankrupt before killing the Hellcat/Demon, that doesnt mean they arent gonna go bankrupt trying to be the hip young radical brand lol.
I had the earliest camper. Not a Westfalia. It had sink, running water, icebox, closets. And it had my all time favorite bed. Seated seven people. This new version is incredibly awesome.
Mert Pala I know that was funny. I was makin a joke àbout it in my head before he even finished gettin in there. He seemed like he was gay though anyways.
fprintf he is definitely a small guy. Have you seen how he fits in the closet? Lol Anyhow, you have a lot of room in the upper bed. The down bed seems a little bit weird, because it seems there’s space but the seats and mattress doesn’t take profit of all ...
If VW exported this camper to America it would be priced around $70,000. A vehicle which is that camper specific for $70,000 is only going to appeal to a limited number of people. Americans are not going to give up their $40,000- $50,000 SUVs or mini vans which are more versatile and very popular for a $70,000 camper that might be used for camping only a handful of times a year. Most Americans that are truly interested in a camping type RV want something bigger than the VW camper. These facts make it very hard for the VW camper to compete in America, especially in that price range. Volkswagen certainly understands this. I would buy the VW camper in a heartbeat, but I'm retired and have the money. I also have the time to actually take road trips. Plus, I don't have to do the daily drive to work or haul a bunch of kids to school, soccer practice, etc. So the SUV is less appealing to me. But I'm in the minority. Don't expect VW to export the camper van to the USA anytime soon.
Brian Wittling winnebagos are fiberboad shit. Only an idiot would buy a giant bloated RV that can only seat 4 and you cant park anywhere. If this VW were sold in the US every RV company in america would go bankrupt.
00 00 - Then how do you explain all the giant RVs you see on the roads today? There sure are a lot of them and as the economy has prospered in the last couple of years, there are more than ever. Winnebago has been one of the better success stories of all the RVs. They've been around forever. You don't get that longevity by building "fiberboard shit." And VW must agree or they would again start selling their campers here. The VW camper van was once very popular. But that was when it was affordable and competitive with other U.S. vans.
00 00 hahaha! no. A Travato is a Class B.. completely within the OEM steel van body. As are many other Class B examples on Sprinter and Transit chassis that sell in the $70k range. If you think these are "fiberboard shit" then I guess you're only familiar with the cheap non-Winnebago shithole fishcamp trailers and 5th wheels.
Volkswagen is a German company, and in Germany stove and oven - Herd und Ofen (or Backofen) - mean pretty much the same as in the US. A Backofen can often refer to what we call a furnace here.
Mark Nadel It’s definitely not an oven, that’s something you put food inside, not on top of, no matter where you’re from (I’m from the UK). This would be called a stove, gas hob or just a cooker.
Except for a little bell here and a little whistle there, this is the same design as my 1979 Type 2 camper. Mine actually works better in many instances. Passenger chair turns around, stove works, sink works, fridge works, etc. the “ceiling” in the cabin is better in mine actually because it folds all the way back, giving you daytime storage and no danger of it falling and hitting your head. The engine is probably fresher but let me know how it’s doing in 40 years.
I grew up in a 1960 Westphalia VW Camper. All wood finish and when I started watching this, I was wondering why they would try to fix a design that really wasn't broken. I kept watching anyway. This thing is pretty cool. I would definitely like one.
This guy reminds me of Joey in the Friends episode where this guy comes over to look at and buy a tv entertainment center and bets Joey that he can’t fit into the entertainment center so Joey climbs in and closes the door, the dude takes a hockey stick and ‘locks’ Joey in the entertainment center and then proceeds to steal all their furnishings from their apartment leaving Joey and Chandler with an empty apartment, smh.
You glossed over the sink insert, but it's important.....that's because there's no separate bathroom sink, so that is to separate kitchen activities from bathroom ones. They got the idea from the Roadtreck vans which 1st came up with the concept.
You nailed the biggest problem... I'm European and it's one of the only campervans in its class you could use as a daily car. And by this it ends. Not usable in winter season, you will have cold at night, battery power is limited.... very fine campervan for 2 persons in summer (but the lady wants a toilet...)! And f**king expensive for what you get, I know it's VW!
This isn't an issue for me because I'm familiar with the toilets in camps in the EU at least in my part of EU and if you have a small camper like this the toilet is irelevant in most cases.
i can't buy one in the UK, or can't justify one. They cost around £55-65k, and i can get a converted 3 year old VW panel van for £26k. These would make great second-hand purchases i guess.
Great enthusiasm! Talking about things that fold out, collapse in, etc. .... crazy idea: Retractable or "pop up" wind turbines. Most cars are camped (parked) about 22 hours a day, and can generate electro all that time. :)
tripjet999 This redesign should have come out in the 90’s or 2001.... It is so strange to see anyone become excited over what was 1970’s comfort...not high tech... So strange the times we are living in... It’s like the German Rothschilds dumbed down the US population... and this video and all the comments are the proof..@12:10 “ VW did a pretty good job at this... They have been making Vans like this for decades so it kind of makes sense that they get this right”....lol
May be a newbie question but... can you have the roof up when it rains? Looks like the sides are fairly thick and with the heater being good as you said.. thanks
It doesn't sell in the US because it wouldn't sell. In Europe VW is perceived as special. In the US VW is seen as below mainstream brands in terms of desirability. Its poor reliability record, dealer experience, and maintenance costs work against it. Therefore, there is no way you could justify the cost of logistics of selling another model considering how few of those $65,000 vans would find buyers.
They've sold out every year they've been sold in the US. And the resale market for these is, I'm guessing, higher than you can imagine. Try and find a USED camper with less than 100K miles for less than $20,000.00 I'd bet every single Camper that was imported into the US would sell for over the sticker price.
You may not be able to have a VW 'California' in the US but check out what it actually takes to legally import a car over: th-cam.com/video/5HvgkdVPfaQ/w-d-xo.html

Oh c'mon 12 minutes of Jew heaven
2018 Baby-Boomers are going to love this!!! All jokes aside, this is a hella cool rig! I don't like the absurdity that people call Rvs, so this would be right up my alley! Just imagine... living in the suburbs of Seattle, and at a moment's notice, you could go to the mountains and camp with your loved one. Super cool!
Peter Salter too bad we can’t get such cool stuff in the US.
JesseArt Really! It probably cost an arm and a leg!
Yes, you could drive it over to Ballard and park on the street and shit on the sidewalk with all the other bums.
Is this model available in The States?
Only if it were sold here :(
Probably cheaper than rent in San Francisco :-O
This guy, Torchinsky, is by far and away the world's very best presenter. Exacting, hilarious and real. Very WELL DONE!
Awesome review. VW could be selling these by the boatload in the US to all of the people enjoying vanlife. They are really missing out.
EUROPE GETS ALL THE GOOD STUFF!! 🤬
CycleCruza: yes we get all the good stuff. You get 45 lol
Tacoma, and my favorite dear gun the AK-47
They dont get good guns. Haha
Stacy Ash says an american war driver? you in america since all nacistic assholes and the most hated nation in the world.I can wait the day where the Eu will rip your ass for all the evil. greetings from Germany
My dream is to own something like this. It's a shame they won't sell them in the states despite it being called, you know, THE CALIFORNIA! After one of the most popular hippie states in the country that would totally eat this thing up for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
CaptAdam maybe its because of some stupid law or regulation
It’s actually called the transporter, the California is just an edition hence “T6”. Much like the eurovan (T4) was/is the transporter/multivan/caravelle/California etc.
Saw this as a concept In 05 at the factory...nothing like making a timely decision.
i just wish there was a lot more European cars in the U.S
I do too, it would widen the market and make brands more competitive and strive to keep business but also, the market would be flooded with cars that nobodys buying
Who else wanted to see him completely enclose himself in the tiny closet by shutting the door completely?
Jason Kirk , 🙋😹😹😂😂
Jason Kirk 100th like
And never come out! They find his decaying body months later.
Yep but his momentus coming out of the closet will go down in the annals of history.....glad i didn't get a typo on my spelling
in 2018 I rented a Toyota Hiace van in Japan for three weeks. It had all the same stuff as this VW, down to the electric roof mechanism, the table, chairs, fridge, sink, heater, shower, etc. It also had a microwave and a WiFi hotspot! It was a reliable, reasonably priced, awesome machine. Service it anywhere.
Camping is one of the best things one can do, specially after retire.
My country need to apply permit if you want to camp.
If IKEA made a car.
Don't want a car I have to assemble myself. I don't have that kind of time or strength
when i saw the furniture being pulled out i thot the same thing ... lol! 'vw meets ikea' very cool! now ... why the heck would they have one in the usa, to test? and yet not sell em here. but they will have the vw buzz here!!
Libtards must die "Wood"
they messed up. the concept was sooo much better
ikutoisahobo
😂 Right? That’s what I was thinking too.
"Make sure you look great when you're coming out of the....uh...closet" lol. Ded
Very good. How much the price?
The 1973 thru 75 VW Campers were Great- Porsche engine & 'everything' was functional & well made. Comfortable & a pleasure to drive. I miss it.
This new one looks busy & cheap. A sad loss, a time gone by.
@w4csc they're built by Volkswagen in Germany at the Hannover plant. Beautiful vehicules that are very well made
Not available in America? I was about to buy. I have a 1 ton pickup and tow a 30 foot travel trailer and was looking to downsize. This would be perfect. Damn you Volkswagen!
Yep. Volkswagen is a great company. Volkswagen of America is not.
Loved the van but the star of the show was the presenter.
Very funny guy.
With all the wonderful innovations, including a shower, why not add a toilet of some kind--and flush it into the waste holding tank, which is now built-in?
dawsonsld
.
Too hard to make complient for every jurisdiction. And if it goes wrong, you will have many angry customers. They would prefer people went aftermarket and save vw a lot of headaches
Magnetic shower curtain to hang around the back hatch?
They make a rear tent attachment that lays on the boot lid. Can be bought as an accessory
1985 NISSAN 300ZX
The complete opposite kind of vehicle of a $65,000 hipster camper van.
This is the coolest mini van I ever seen. So many well hidden stuffs. Makes me want to get one.
Hmm. I rode inside in a 1959 VW camper from Texas to Canada in 1969 July August time frame. Now THAT was awesome. No Air conditioning and no radio.
no 50 cent gas either.
Paul Hinson b
✌
Paul Hinson our family went thru 3 vw “buses”
Are you truly complaining about 50 cent gas? It's $6 per gallon in Germany.
Pretty savage of VW to name it after a place where they aren't selling it 😂
Right! But you can totally buy the Eurovan in the US! The irony...
Maybe it was named after the Ferrari?
lol
Toyota honda come on. Reliability and something like this. Would sell a gazillion
Go buy a used Japanese van, strip it out, take it to a professional outfitter and have one custom made. There are lots of companies that specialize in this, and do it a lot better. This looks like finicky, expensive, euro-junk to me.
Joe Schmoe Honda reliable?😂😂 LOL
they have toyota vellfire and alphards, but theyre luxury vans
If Subaru ever makes something like this I'll be one of the first to buy.
MrPotato honda is reliable. my dad lended me a '95 accord and it is still in good condition.
I had a 1969 VW Camper down on Virginia Beach, I wish I had it now, I paid $2100.00 for it in 1972! Yes, it was a pop-top.
The best narration on TH-cam of any video!! Cant afford the van so Ill make mine from pallets :)
If it's 4wd, I'm sold
Its too bad we pissed them off so much they wont build another in the US.
"im gonna take off my shoes" The guys socks were dirtier lmao!
I love this guys sense of humour
would be nice if the roof had a solar panel
Luo :Easily added
Extra weight. That's not what they're about. Lightweight, efficient simplicity. That's an all around German motto!
As long as one doesn't exceed the payload allowance the German engineers could not care less. However I don't know how obese Germans are, but I 'm thinking the van isn't sold here because of our obese citizenry. The payload allowance might not be great enough to carry an average American family. A disclaimer: I am overweight.
William Branham
Too much to ask for as is
Just when you think okay great, this man says wait there's more.
It's left hand drive, named after a US state, is a camper and is perfect for America yet they won't sell it here? That is a dumb decision. Volkswagen, please sell these here. People would buy this.
"It's left hand drive"
75% of the world is.
"Named after a US state"
Which was named after a Spanish queen.
"Perfect for America "
...yet there's no giant cup holders?
I admit, VW would probably sell loads over there but for you to behave like it was designed specifically for the USA is just so.....American.
@@hawk2million have you seen how tiny some cupholders are even in American cars? Also I thought most of the world was RHD. Being LHD means importing it to the US would be easier than importing a Nissan Van of some sort since America is, obviously, LHD. The main reason it'd be perfect for America is how well the original VW bus did. If we knew these still existed, we'd have a demand for them.
spaceship80sguy because the realty industry would rapidly drop and this vw threatens the growing “tiny house” streak here #FACTS
@@cowboydelnorte3078 so make them limited.
How do you keep cool in summer ? Especially sleeping ?
I had the earliest camper. Not a Westfalia. It had sink, running water, icebox, closets. And it had my all time favorite bed. Seated seven people.
This new version is incredibly awesome.
"So you look good when you come out to the closet" this guy is a low-key savage 😂😂😂
Mert Pala I know that was funny. I was makin a joke àbout it in my head before he even finished gettin in there. He seemed like he was gay though anyways.
Yo Pappy he’s probably not, he reminds me of a “dork” or “nerd” that be in nick and/or Disney.
Does it come with the VW camper 'musty' smell? I love it,,, it brings back childhood memories....
Ok, it doesn't have the iconic look at all. But it's freaking cool. Well designed. Great presentation/ adorable presenter too.
You said you are short, and yet you fit in the bed end to end making me think this isn't good for anyone 6 foot or over.
fprintf he is definitely a small guy. Have you seen how he fits in the closet? Lol
Anyhow, you have a lot of room in the upper bed.
The down bed seems a little bit weird, because it seems there’s space but the seats and mattress doesn’t take profit of all ...
fprintf these vans are around 8ft from the back door to the back of the drivers seat.

That’s why it’s only sold in Europe? 🤷🏼♀️😂
Don't expect VW to export the camper van to the USA anytime soon.
absolutely. you can get a Winnebago Travato, built on the Dodge/Fiat Ducato chassis.. an all mod cons RV starting at about $70k..
I will never own a mini van or a full size SUV, but I would ride this all day long.
It's a stove, not an oven!
Relax Butthead
Its an oven in Europe - VW is European. Stove is different thing - usually a heater in Europe.
*you're
Except for a little bell here and a little whistle there, this is the same design as my 1979 Type 2 camper. Mine actually works better in many instances. Passenger chair turns around, stove works, sink works, fridge works, etc. the “ceiling” in the cabin is better in mine actually because it folds all the way back, giving you daytime storage and no danger of it falling and hitting your head. The engine is probably fresher but let me know how it’s doing in 40 years.
Doug DeMuro should look at all the quirks and features of this new VW camper
I saw this a few months ago here in Europe and thought, "it sure would be cool to have one of these back in California"... oh, well.
One of the best reviews ever! Funny but concise. Top job!
😂
I love this idea for a camper. VW has definitely made huge progress in this area! Thanks for sharing this! Take care!
Volkswagen needs to sell this in the US tbh
You glossed over the sink insert, but it's important.....that's because there's no separate bathroom sink, so that is to separate kitchen activities from bathroom ones. They got the idea from the Roadtreck vans which 1st came up with the concept.
Not gonna lie, i would rather have a van with a toilet than a bed, seemse more important, u can sleep on the seat or toilet
SICK! Three things on my mind, TOILET, how to add SOLAR PANELS and what about VENTS?
You nailed the biggest problem...
I'm European and it's one of the only campervans in its class you could use as a daily car. And by this it ends.
Not usable in winter season, you will have cold at night, battery power is limited.... very fine campervan for 2 persons in summer (but the lady wants a toilet...)! And f**king expensive for what you get, I know it's VW!
They used to have toilets in them.
Also towing the motorbike
Let’s go for a rideeeee
This isn't an issue for me because I'm familiar with the toilets in camps in the EU at least in my part of EU and if you have a small camper like this the toilet is irelevant in most cases.
When you're living in a van down by the river.
how beautiful this! do you know how much cost?
5:56 jeez I don't even have a walk in closet at my house
I was hopeing that you'd tell us how much it costs.
Instead you told us that you can't buy one in the USA
I'm so disappointed
i can't buy one in the UK, or can't justify one. They cost around £55-65k, and i can get a converted 3 year old VW panel van for £26k. These would make great second-hand purchases i guess.
@@tonywhite6985 if you can find one second hand that doesnt have half the knickknacks and tools missing.
Great enthusiasm! Talking about things that fold out, collapse in, etc. .... crazy idea: Retractable or "pop up" wind turbines. Most cars are camped (parked) about 22 hours a day, and can generate electro all that time. :)
Were do you fill your water tank and the where do you hook up your power cord and does it have city water hook up and where is the Lp tank at

tripjet999 This redesign should have come out in the 90’s or 2001....

I just took a shit on your head!
wow nice van, and its good looking van also.
They really thought about everything and did a good job fitting things the best way possible
May be a newbie question but... can you have the roof up when it rains?
Looks like the sides are fairly thick and with the heater being good as you said..
thanks
Your mother did raise an animal! You had your shoes on!
Those were different days for VW in the US. Half of my friends had VWs. Now they wouldn't touch the brand.
Hey mtv, welcome to my crib
