So happy for you that you can go to Rhinebeck!!!! With your colorpalette you just have to be there! (And I'm excited for myself that we can live it trough you!) Loved the chatty and vlogs bit in this video, as I'm not in to spinning. Your blouse looks amazing! As does your sweater progress!
I am excited that you get to go to Rhinebeck!! That part of New York State is gorgeous, especially in the fall. Your handspun is going to be perfect for framed.
Oh wow!! Congratulations on being able to go to Rhinebeck! That's incredible! What a dream! I hope to be able to go someday as well! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing your videos about Rhinebeck and knitting for it!
How exciting that you can go to Rhinebeck! I made it to Flock this year after not being able to go last year and it made me so happy. Your Marlene knits colourway looks even better spun up. Love it!!
Love the madder root bag and so happy to be matching!! I hope you have a lovely time at Rhinebeck, I'm sad to miss you there but hopefully we'll see each other again at a yarny event someday!
I have to say, I love your spinning videos very much. I like to spin too, so I find it quit interesting! Happy for you that you get to go to Rhinebeck. The framed sweater looks very promising!
I’m currently working on my Framed sweater and then I see your thumbnail and we have very similar colors so of course I have to click! How exciting for both your first sweater spin and Rhinebeck! I’ve never been, but maybe some day.
So cool you're going to Rhinebeck! I've been every year for the past 3 years and going back this year 😊 your framed is going to be stunning. I'm absolutely smitten over mine as well. Try all the food you can in the area. It's all great. Rhinebeck sheep and wool is magical ✨
This will be my first year in Rhinebeck as well, I've always lived within 2 hrs but this is my first year in the fiber arts :) I hope I will get to say hi! And I'm in love with your colorway, it is very autumnal and moody. I'm just beginning my spinning journey and already thinking of a sweater spin where i handye my own fiber :)
I am so excited for you! Your Framed is going to be so beautiful. Also, a little off topic - do you think you might share your london fog/maple oat latte recipes at any point (or have you already?) they sound delicious.
aww thanks so much 🥰 I just brew an earl grey tea, then put some maple syrup into it first and then add some (oat) milk that’s been frothed ☺️ not sure if it’s the exactly correct way of doing it but I love it! :)
How exciting! I’ve always dreamed of going to Rhineback myself. Maybe one day. Would you be so kind to do a short video of how you knit color work using both hands. Your method looks quite simple. 😊
So excited for you! This video kept me company while casting on my Framed sweater for the 4th time 😢Entirely my own fault (miscounting twice and twisting my join in the round) See you at Rhinebeck!
oh no, I know the feeling of messing up a tubular cast on! this time around I kind of used a tip by Andrea, and went in steps of 10 - but instead of putting a stitch marker every 10th stitch I put it in my calculator on my phone and it work on the first try!! 😌 I was very chuffed with myself as you might expect 🤭 see you in October!
The cat’s out of the bag! I’m so excited to squish you in person, I just can’t stand it. 😊 Caught up with you today while knitting…. nothing! Just vegging on the couch after a day spent hiking and walking around the Olympic Peninsula after being completely inspired by your travel vlogs last year. Talk soon! ❤
🥳 a lot of squishing will be happening, of yarn and fiber and lovely people! I love seeing you explore the Peninsula and seeing the beauty of this place through your eyes - it’s truly one of the most special places on earth 🌲🌊 so happy we get to inspire each other, talk to you later! 🫶🏻
in reference to customs, as a Canadian, I've ordered yarn overseas several times, both from wool warehouse and from Nutiden/Honer Och Eir. Neither times have I had to pay for customs, however once when ordering from USA I had to pay for customs. I'm not sure exactly why this is, but I do think it's very interesting. I hope you enjoy Rhinebeck!
I have a son in NYC and am visiting him at that time, so I am going up by train for the day on Saturday. I hope I run into you there. I am also making the Frame Sweater. Also...how brave you are to do the colorwork without setting in tons of markers. I have marker set for every star repeat!
that sounds so nice! hope to see you there, definitely say hi when you spot me 🥰 I do as well normally but this repeat just came really natural to me so it was okay to do it without ☺️
How exciting! I have always dreamed of going to Rhineback. Would you be so kind to create a video of how you knit colorwork using both hands? Your method looks so simple. I’m trying to find a method that works best for me. Thank you!
thank you ☺️ I’ll see what I can do but I usually don’t do technique videos since I’ve always found good ones on youtube whenever I was asking myself how to do something! I have a lot of great ones in my knitting playlist on my channel and the technique I‘m using is most likely called something like colorwork knitting with both hands while weaving in floats every 3-4 stitches :) hope this helps a bit!
Congratulations on getting to go to Rhinebeck. Ive been going since sometime in the late 90’s. It’s only an hour away from me. It would be silly to miss it, right? :D If I happen to notice you in the crowd (and I do mean crowd), I’ll probably be fan-girling all over, but I’ll try to keep my enthusiasm in check. (I have been described by others as a very enthusiastic Irish Setter. Lol)
Thank you!! I mean I would totally go every year if I lived that close! definitely do say hi please and do not keep any enthusiasm from me ☺️ I’m buzzing about everything and everyone I will hopefully get to meet ☺️
the sandnes garn double sunday is readily available at many online stores though I‘m not sure where you are located, so you’ll have to see for yourself! the corrie worsted from la bien aimee is a bit more rare to find, I got my skein from a german (online) yarn shop called mylys and the handspun shaniko wool is from yarnjam called „marlene knits“ and will be available from the 6th of september from her online shop! ☺️
I love that pattered fabric! It’s so pretty on you. Also you have inspired me to get my spinning wheel out again. Have fun at Rhinebeck!
Yay, what are you spinning? Thank you! 😊
