kripp doesn't understand how this upgrade design works, it's not meant for you to upgrade all your gear, it's meant for you to prioritize which gear to upgrade, give you choice on which item you want to upgrade. Second point is that it was done to make valor points usefull all the time not only in the progression stage and alt gearing.
I would never upgrade an 476 ilevel weapon. What I did was wait for the sha touched weapon from the Terrace (lfr) raid, use the sha legendary gem, enchants and stat upgrades. You can max out your VP each week by run LFR raids and running a daily heroic dungeon. Done, VP for the week.
Also Brawler's Guild is damn fun, if you got the g to get in that is. The rank 8 battles are possibly even harder than hard mode raid fights. On Illidan there's only 2 kills on 3 of the bosses and 3 on another in the rank 8 bracket. Honestly though there's still plenty of things to do for non-top end people to do. There's plenty of bosses people are still working on not to mention challenge modes to work on.
He has valid complaints. A lot of people don't like to do dailies or have to "grind" to max valor caps. Shit there shouldn't even be a weekly cap. It's one of the dumbest things they've done imo. In the past, people could spend a day or a couple days of the week and grind out what they needed.. Now, people have to log in every day because we're gated on everything. A lot of people hate that shit. I do. I don't want to HAVE to log in every day if I want to stay on top of gear etc.
Yeah for BiS it does seem like a let down if they do not add other ways of getting or improving gear but for raiding guilds who have limited raid schedules the upgrades give us ways to gap the bridge between a guild having cleared heroic sha and where my guild is at almost clearing normal HoF.
No. Unless Blizzard decides to take out the 1k weekly Valor cap, Kripp's prediction is spot on. It would take 23 weeks to upgrade 15 pieces of epic gear that will eventually be replaced by better epic gear.
if its worth upgradeing for a "semi-hardcore" guild that has around 10/16 HC bosses you will atleast wait to you get heroic BiS items for you char, and if you are in a 10man guild that shit never dropps. Atm I only have 3 items that are even worth upgradeing. But for WF guilds that have full BiS wont even need the upgrade because they are done progressing and will upgrade only upgrade like wep and trinkets that will really push your dps. so the off gear you will focus on last/not at all.
Justice/Honor/Conquest points...common Kripp. And I think it adds a new level of diversity, you'll have to CHOOSE what to upgrade, and for the most part people wont upgrade (or upgrade to stay below the cap) until they get BiS gear.
I dig your vids Kripp, but the VP upgrade system is a good thing. When you look at it from the perspective of upgrading all your gear, it is daunting. However, in the past you would just end up with tons of VP & nothing to spend it on. I prefer to at least have it remain somewhat useful down the line. Upgrade your best pieces & wait till you have something new that's worth upgrading before you spend more. Simple as that.

Well i dont mind cost in VP, some items do become insanely powerful like weapons, but some dont. Also you wont upgrade items that you are planing to trash when u get better in next we weeks. This can be fixed by increasing cap limit, there is no logic in having it anyway and this gear upgrade proves it.

They mostly did to PVE what PVP players are used to, i.e. we have to farm points to buy/upgrade gear. Except that we still have to farm the gear in the first place. *sigh*
Having said that, and afterwords played the new patch, I like the new changes,. the stun shower in bgs, the way stats look different, and finally, the Story quests in Krasarang Wilds!!!
It's funny because a lot of guilds have already downed sha heroic so there is pretty much no reason for them to do anything within this new patch because there's no progression through this
People really underestimate the Diablo 1.0.6 patch. It means that pretty soon we'll get new chat functions, new game create options and other Battle.Net updates. To me, that sounds pretty awesome. Especially since Diablo is really anti-social game right now.
for any min-maxer out there, we all look at it like kripp... I had all my valor gear and was glad all i needed to do is login for raid night and get my 300 valor/week! Now its pretty much forcing you to cap everyweek until you stop playing wow, aka burnout

It is indeed expensive to upgrade all you gear, but I think they made it so people that have nothing to spend VP on, actually get something to spend on, it may be a small upgrade compared to getting a new piece, but it's better than nothing. :/

They added a Achievement for collecting 150 mounts, wich i got instantly... ( have 164 mounts) its the highest achiev for mount collectors now, and they managed to Bug the mount Reward....
I've never disagreed with Kripp, ever. Until now. Not only because of the 'need' to upgrade everything being pure bullshit (you upgrade what you can with your LEFTOVER valor points), but "the only thing everyone cares about is gear"? No, just no! I've never seen this much progression in lore in a single patch, and ofcourse some people don't care, but many do.
