Little to no hope left for Blizzard. Their arrogance and lack of care is destroying their reputation. If Kripp was hired for the director position, without a single doubt I would still be playing D3.
He wasn't quite as.. how do I say it... passive-popular..? Yeah, I mean. he doesn't have to try as hard these days as he did back then. He's more known by majority of people. So he doesn't have to be as enthusiastic and excited about his work / content every day. (Although honestly, I'd wish he still was nowadays) He's more relaxed nowadays because he's more used to it as are we. How I look at it, at least. (Also GF + ESGN = more busy)
I dont think you could of hit the nail on the head ANY HARDER!. I stopped playing diablo3 a few months ago and just started looking into it again. diablo 2 was perfect for all the reasons you just said. Thank you for posting this hopefully the right people see it.

+1, latency in Australia is terrible. Aside from that, I really enjoyed watching this. I normally avoid rant videos but you make good points in a coherent and likeable way. You should be getting paid for this...
Just a couple points. I think repair costs are fine - But then again i also play alot of reverse exp games (You die, you lose alot of time/money/ect) so i understand alot of people aren't used to viewing dying on a game in this context (hurhur generic FPS franchise mentioned). The idea for champion levels. This is something i actually really liked. Alot. The idea of only being able to level it w/ 5 stacks of NV fits Blizz's idea for D3 and gives people an extra perk while farming.
Damn Kripp, good stuff in this video. I quit D3 for the same reason (lack of end-game content). I really like your ideas. If Blizzard does something like this, I'll probably come back. Another tihng though that I think they should do, is make farming for legendaries worth it. I'm so damn tired of yellows and I got really bored farming for gear, because I had no goal. I just kept on doing tedious butcher runs for yellows and money. All I wanted was some sweet legendaries :( Anyway, keep it up man
for champ levels youre gonna have to kill champ packs on 5 nv stacks, and leveling would give u 1 point in a talent tree with stuff like u said, like enhanced town portal, 1nv when u log in, extra buffs on QWER, another item set slot(like in D2 where u could switch sets with one button).
Your suggestions to make a PvP exp system are like the one we had in DaoC. You have really good ideas, for people like us that beat the game too soon, Diablo 3 in it's current state is very boring. Please, post your suggestions in the forums to make everybody see if you haven't done yet.
How exactly can the repair cost limit ur progress? O.o I am stuck in Act3 inferno, during a lack of damage and/or surviveabilitie. However, the repaircost have no impact on this, unless u would try to graveyardgrind, which they wanted to limit by raising the repaircost. If u tried to grind this was, well the higher repair costs do exactly what they were made for.
This.. Is so true! Spot on, mate. Really love the ideas on how to (possibly) build a ladder that will keep people occupied for a while! Gj! :) - Atleast I know, that I would like most of waht you said ;)
You don't get any mercs in a multi-player game, unless the story calls for it.(Tyrael, or the Enchantress when you first meet her in act II. So, it won't affect anything other than your single-player experience.
Kripparrian = My new Prime Minister ... Krip Tips = My new Bible ... This guys way of explaining the basic things Blizzard needs to do = Priceless. GO KRIPP
I fully agree with most of the stuff you said man!!! they can do A LOTT to make this game more interesting for end game. i wanna play thousands of hours aswell for very tiny character improvements
I really like the idea of Champion Levels. Not sure if letting you have more than one merc is that useful, but allowing you to use your TPs faster would be cool! 5 self allocatable stat points per level would bring a new level of customization to characters. Melee wizards might stack str, or something like that. The itemization before level 60 had absolutely no thought or effort put into it...
i really like the idea of champion levels. like in rift, you can level after the max level is reached and you get to spend points into stats, movement speed buffs, small dps increases with x type of weapon etc. stuff like keeps people cranking out the hours man
I watched how You made a run in inferno, when i was like lvl 12. Now i dont play the game because it has lost any point to me. BUT those changes that YOU suggested are just perfect to make me wana play and lvl and farm etc. You sir should get a medal!
honestly I wasn;t too hot on any of the ideas until the "champion Levels." Now THAT'S something I could get behind, and your right, putting those on a ladder would make me want to keep playing just to keep getting those levels back.
Thumbs Up. Especially for mentioning the repair bills. Increasing the repair cost by 600% on a game that once advertised "You WILL Get Your Ass Kicked" seems a bit punishing.
The over-levels are a good idea. In an expansion it would be nice being able to unlock second runes in skills, or extra passive skills. Something like: - Level 65: 2nd rune in Primary attack. - Level 70: 2nd rune in Secondary attack. - Level 75: 4th passive skill. - Level 80: 2nd rune in 1st skill.. - Level 85: 2nd rune in 2nd skill. - Level 90: 2nd rune in 3rd skill - Level 95: 2nd rune in 4th skill - Level 100: 5th passive skill. These extra levels would be ignored in PvP, though.
You have good ideas, bro. Some of the simpler ones aren't really all that fleshed out, to the point where, as they are, they suck because they're not detailed or thought out enough. But all of them are, at the very least, great jump-off points. Given the Paragon levels they're implementing in 1.0.4, they seem to be listening...I feel like PvP, ladders, stuff like that, I really think it's just stuff they're working on and getting the kinks out.
It's incredible how blizz announced Paragon Levels 2 or 3 weeks after this video. hahahaha And guess what? They didnt even mention Kripp. I just want to thank you, Kripp. For all your effort in making this game better, and say that a lot of people got really sad when you quit D3, but we can understand your reasons pretty damn well. RIP :( (at least in D3)
Krippi had an amazing idea about the PVP system, which had been proved to be a successful system in numerous Chinese online games. Tens of thousands of people just want to be good at the PVP system to play the PVE, to farm, to do everything.
All the cool stuff in Diablo 2 like runes, runewords, class specific items, elite items, elite uniques were put into the expansion for 39,99 just a year after the original was put into circulation. But the buffed runewords, redesigned skill system with synergies, pandemonium event, Uber Diablo etc were put into patches, free for anyone just when user numbers were starting to decline. The expansion will add half a game and more but the patches will be quite significant as well
Kripparian, how do u like this idea?: Super-elites, or epics. There is one per zone, or on the final dungeon levels. The have 10 affixes, guarantee to drop 5 rares + chance for more, so high chance for legendary. They have 10x more health than a normal elite, hit harder, and have new textures and models so they really are unique to everything else. They could also have a chance to drop up to Star gems.
I like your way of thinking, i stopped playing d3 because i cant progress anymore. I can remember times when i played d2 for months and months just to earn xp. I never finished my quest to get to lvl 99(i had barb lvl 89) so im now thinking of playing d2 again. And items i got in d2 were a lot cooler then in d3, low level legendaries from rakanishu, aah the good old times..
Great base ideas Krip, I think Blizzard definitely needs to consider some of these ideas, if not all and just sculpt them, they are game developers, it kinda is their job, to invent new cool innovative game play, and i think added to the Champion System, for any other players that are still looking into farming after reaching level 40 C Lvl, you should start games with an automatic 5 Stack neph, as for me i would still farm here and there, so that'd be very cool to have an automatic 5 stack
Nice work Kripp. I'm nowhere near the player you are...more the casual that still struggles with Act II inferno post-nerf. =) Nonetheless, I enjoy the game and value your effort to keep it alive past the current dead-end end-game. Keep it up.
I had that idea too. You should be able to join the goblin portals if youre fast (it should be hard to do that tho). You then enter the world of the Goblin King and fight his minions. Thatd be fucking awesome man, lots of loot of course! Blizz listen to Kripp, hes the man ... he got like 8000 on intellect man. Them ideaz
it's like you are getting your ideas from a magic box that's called "gamers wishes for diablo 3" it's like your putting everything together , i just enjoy your videos hope that blizz will listen to even 10 per cent of what u said . greetings from tunisia by the way ;)
Me too! Wasn't sure what everyones fascination with Kripp was but after that statement my respect for him went up tenfold! 290ms ping is good for me down here lmao. Id be happy to sit on that. But it still spikes
Like most other DAoC players, I agree with you on the end game stuff. I do however think that the increase of repair cost thing was good, but they didnt have to higher it 10x or whatever they did now :).
I agree with everything you said seriously hire that guy he thought that on the fly, awesome video man. Although you missed a big part, why the F*CK did they put mercenaries out of multiplayer/pvp ? They were such a HUGE part in diablo 2. Worst of all, they do around 5% of your damage and get one shot by non elite mobs useless. Auras (which is also a huge part missing in d3) would be a great add too, have merc trinklets give auras that stack up to 3 while giving more stats at the time.
I understand what you're saying about keeping the endgame. Wrecking items and increasing the base framework of stats you have to work with also works negatively towards Blizzard keeping their RMAH / player trading. If an item didn't make a tremendous impact on a character, they wouldn't sell as well as something similar to a Sword of a Thousand Truths, aka less profit.
I don't get the stats argument. D2 stats were "put in enough to wear your endgame gear, everything else vitality." You could survive in naked gear due to skill point allocation, which isn't really an option anymore. champion levels worked out really well for SWTOR :>
Once you reach level 60 and beat inferno there should be a choice that do you wish to upgrade your toon into a champion and compete for the max levels. Like in D2 ladder and normal characters were divided into their own community. This could work between champions and normal toons aswell. And once the ladder gets reset your champion character turns into a normal lvl 60 character WITH all the champ bonuses, but unable to participate to the next ladder with that certain lvl 60 char.
Another Idea i have no sure if you will read it it's for end game PVE You have a endless dungeon system called "Enter Hell" or w.e. You just keep going down dungeons and dungeons. every time you hit a certain stage , difficulty increases, higher rate for better items. You die you restart at the beginning. This where blizzard can make ridiculous buffs for mobs in higher stages.
However, ladder can exist with current version: it's a race to completing inferno. I know this has been done fairly fast in softcore, but if you isolate ladder like hardcore (no RMAH) it's fairly longer to complete. And if you consider that competitive environment, people should sell at higher prices and there would be less items (since there is less people in) making it more interesting and challenging to get good items.
Quoted from blizzard. I have personally watched both of the videos (Kripp Tips as well as Athene's feedback video) and in my own opinion they were great to watch and contained some very interesting feedback on Diablo III. Please continue to post your thoughts on both of these videos as well as giving your own constructive feedback for Diablo III :) So yeh they did come cuz of a vid.
WOW sooo cool ideas! Repair costs are fine imo, the other ideas are rly cool. Also heres an idea: PvP tournaments with 100k buy in (for example) where the winner gets rly rich... and can sell the gold for real money ofc :)
I agree that these are some good ideas. I was thinking a lot of the same myself. Personally, some of the things I miss about Diablo II are killer. What about making it easier to find a like-minded group? Yeah, I can join public games based on quests, but how do I know that people want to farm or just quest or level up? It is a crap shoot whenever I enter a game.
Funny how I watch this video and listen to Kripp's theories and then looking at the date the video came out and when Blizzard released PvP and other shit. Kripp was right. He said they were going to rush pvp and release some flat arena shit, they did. Kripp is the best RPG player in the world :)
hope they take the pvp stuff too. or ANY from actual D2 players ideas. this was the 1st and very tiny step into make D3 what iit should be Kripparagon levels!
You have a lot of good ideas! However, grinding items was my end game in Diablo 2! The problem is that in Diablo 3 the gear you get is almost always crap or something good that you would rather sell in order to buy something that you want. This is because they dont want inflation on AH, there is no ladder resets. It takes away the thrill of finding items. Also, the items that drop are not interesting, there are no +1 whirlwind fists for example. AH and lack of interesting items broke my endgame.
I agree so much with you, cant put that into words. Most of my friends are playing something. So i brought about 20 people to diablo 3, about 15 of them have already quit that. Might, you should really work for Blizzard or some other gameforge. Because of your ideas and the way you think. That industry needs badly brains like you. Most of that good guys, they had one time, quited their jobs. If Blizz would be clever enough, they would kidnap you with a helicopter or something like that :P
I think the best way with gear and PvP will be, if they implement particular PvP gear, which can be used only in Arenas, or whatever kind of PvP Events.
these are good but you have to remember that blizz is going to release expansions to so for example the champion level thing wont work very well when the level caq is 100 after the third expansion
Tons of people said the same thing on the forums plus other additions that were added to the paragon system. Are they gonna get credit too or just this guy that you obvious idolize because he named 100 things and got 1 right?
Here's the thing Kripp, it was said about 8 or so years ago that the problem with video games is that they're not made by players anymore; they're made by people who go out on the golf course. This idea fully applies to Blizzard today, which means that everything you're saying is going to come second to profits. Once you have a good idea, take a moment to ask yourself "would this encourage or discourage the use of the RMAH?" If something would potentially discourage RMAH use it won't be done.
This is the Hardcore No-Life Kripp before the grill and the twitch money. I miss him. FeelsBadMan
"Champion levels" lol Kripp crafted the Paragon system.
wow... I can't believe this was made one month after the release... you are the real gamer...
Kinda funny that they did the exact "Champion LvL" idea... Just called it Paragon Lvls
Holy crap Krip they actually did it :D I used to watch this channel when I played Diablo 3 years back hahaha... you the man !
Little to no hope left for Blizzard. Their arrogance and lack of care is destroying their reputation. If Kripp was hired for the director position, without a single doubt I would still be playing D3.

You dude made my day these tips Are so damn usefully!!! that champion level thing is something mind blowing!!!
"They never called me on skype" - Kripp
+Leorocks Back when they needed. His. Tips.
I wonder if they got the paragon level idea from him because they were almost dead on with each other.
I love how you don't edit the hell out of your vlogs, its really genuine unlike other vloggers who edit every couple of words or sentences..
Kripp looks pretty cool in this video :O like so much younger and more energic
he is probably not stoned in this video
He wasn't quite as.. how do I say it... passive-popular..?

Time has shown they did no... at all :)
hahaha they sure didn't rush it! lfmao
almost 2017 now, still no pvp ;D

Great suggestions man! It's amazing to see some constructive thinking in the community!
Having played DAOC for 7 years.. man. You NAILED it with this video. LOL'd irl how you got more and more wound up after every point you made.
Just a couple points. I think repair costs are fine - But then again i also play alot of reverse exp games (You die, you lose alot of time/money/ect) so i understand alot of people aren't used to viewing dying on a game in this context (hurhur generic FPS franchise mentioned). Brilliant. Your Champion level idea is golden. Let's hope PvP doesn't suck too hard when it comes out.
for champ levels youre gonna have to kill champ packs on 5 nv stacks, and leveling would give u 1 point in a talent tree with stuff like u said, like enhanced town portal, 1nv when u log in, extra buffs on QWER, another item set slot(like in D2 where u could switch sets with one button).
Your suggestions to make a PvP exp system are like the one we had in DaoC. You have really good ideas, for people like us that beat the game too soon, Diablo 3 in it's current state is very boring. Please, post your suggestions in the forums to make everybody see if you haven't done yet.
Your PVE ideas are fantastic.
I hope someone at Blizz is watching this!
Love the Champion system you thought up.*Subscribing* Hope the game works out too man.
How exactly can the repair cost limit ur progress? O.o
I am stuck in Act3 inferno, during a lack of damage and/or surviveabilitie. However, the repaircost have no impact on this, unless u would try to graveyardgrind, which they wanted to limit by raising the repaircost. If u tried to grind this was, well the higher repair costs do exactly what they were made for.
Absolutely agree with champion levels.
Even with the small bonus, it would give a lot of incentive to level up and continue playing.
Great ideas! would defo get me back into playing d3. Hopefully Blizz pulls their fingers out and does something spectacular.
This.. Is so true! Spot on, mate. Really love the ideas on how to (possibly) build a ladder that will keep people occupied for a while! Gj! :)
- Atleast I know, that I would like most of waht you said ;)
Right up Kripp !!!
Reaallly nice ideas. Just hope they include some of it. Sounds delicious ! Makes me wanna keep on playing!
I like these ideas and really hope blizz listen and take some of this on board :D
Blizzard really should employ Kripp, he's very knowledgable and also prepared to admit to mistakes and adjust to the greater good. Top man.
You don't get any mercs in a multi-player game, unless the story calls for it.(Tyrael, or the Enchantress when you first meet her in act II. So, it won't affect anything other than your single-player experience.

The over-levels are a good idea.
In an expansion it would be nice being able to unlock second runes in skills, or extra passive skills.
Something like:
- Level 65: 2nd rune in Primary attack.
- Level 70: 2nd rune in Secondary attack.
- Level 75: 4th passive skill.
- Level 80: 2nd rune in 1st skill..
- Level 85: 2nd rune in 2nd skill.
- Level 90: 2nd rune in 3rd skill
- Level 95: 2nd rune in 4th skill
- Level 100: 5th passive skill.
These extra levels would be ignored in PvP, though.

Hi, i'm wondering if Blizz contacted him ?
All the cool stuff in Diablo 2 like runes, runewords, class specific items, elite items, elite uniques were put into the expansion for 39,99 just a year after the original was put into circulation. But the buffed runewords, redesigned skill system with synergies, pandemonium event, Uber Diablo etc were put into patches, free for anyone just when user numbers were starting to decline. 100% agree, the best game developers seem to be the hardcore gamer's themselves. This proves it. Kripp knows d3 better than anyone @ blizzard.
Those are pretty good tips man! Would be awsome, if some (preferably all) goes on live.
Keep rock!n
I like your way of thinking, i stopped playing d3 because i cant progress anymore. I can remember times when i played d2 for months and months just to earn xp. i miss to get half of the monitor fill with mobs... the nearest experience to that in D3 is Act 3 and part of 4°, but not enougth.
Blizzard, listen to this guy.
That small buff you mentioned, faster TP, just something small like that WILL make a difference. It's awesome. Period.
I had that idea too. You should be able to join the goblin portals if youre fast (it should be hard to do that tho). You then enter the world of the Goblin King and fight his minions. so for the champion levels maybe one random day a week can give double exp. same with pvp levels.

Like most other DAoC players, I agree with you on the end game stuff. I do however think that the increase of repair cost thing was good, but they didnt have to higher it 10x or whatever they did now :).

I don't get the stats argument. D2 stats were "put in enough to wear your endgame gear, everything else vitality." You could survive in naked gear due to skill point allocation, which isn't really an option anymore.
champion levels worked out really well for SWTOR :>
awesome, i am with you, i want end game also, and i think you went about it the right way.
Thanks Kripp
You're a Genious... This will be very ideal for the perfect D3 gameplay.
Hope Blizz will listen to you.
I love the champion level and mercs reward, I really whish they apply this in the future patches
What is a merc? or however you spell it (13:09)
Once you reach level 60 and beat inferno there should be a choice that do you wish to upgrade your toon into a champion and compete for the max levels. Like in D2 ladder and normal characters were divided into their own community.
This could work between champions and normal toons aswell. And once the ladder gets reset your champion character turns into a normal lvl 60 character WITH all the champ bonuses, but unable to participate to the next ladder with that certain lvl 60 char.

it's crazy how much has changed in a year. you could actually see his eyes back then! and he had so much more energy lol

So yeh they did come cuz of a vid.
kripp #1 pvp lvl and pve lvl ideas are amazng,i wish blizz takes that into consideration
WOW sooo cool ideas! Repair costs are fine imo, the other ideas are rly cool. Also heres an idea: PvP tournaments with 100k buy in (for example) where the winner gets rly rich... and can sell the gold for real money ofc :)
At 13:12 he was talking about "marks"?
Great ideas man, keep up the optimism! I'm a big fan Kripp, I hope blizzard is smart enough to listen to you.
Kripp is the best RPG player in the world :)
hope they take the pvp stuff too. or ANY from actual D2 players ideas.
this was the 1st and very tiny step into make D3 what iit should be
Kripparagon levels!
I really do hope that blizzard watches this video because this is GREAT CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM AND NOT AN OUT-RIGHT ATTACK.
I like the new championship+Ladder stuff the best. Not bad tips all around, but that last one stuck out as a real instant game changer.
I think the best way with gear and PvP will be, if they implement particular PvP gear, which can be used only in Arenas, or whatever kind of PvP Events.
brilliant suggestions, they really ought to hire you and bring you down to whereever their studio is
these are good but you have to remember that blizz is going to release expansions to so for example the champion level thing wont work very well when the level caq is 100 after the third expansion
Tons of people said the same thing on the forums plus other additions that were added to the paragon system.
Are they gonna get credit too or just this guy that you obvious idolize because he named 100 things and got 1 right?
12 years is a little while?
Looks baked... He should run for President of Earth... Love this man. *thumbs up*
I want Diablo3 to succeed, i think Kripp's tips are going to lead Diablo3 in a better direction, and I approve this massage.
