This was my first encounter with Luke’s music, over 2 decades ago, and it still might stand as my absolute favorite album of his. Eternally vying with Stop the Panic.
So many fantastic albums from Luke, his music is a serious cornerstone of my life. Even today, I'm massively pissed off and playing a Luke Vibert album while working seemed the obvious thing to do.
The monologue at the start is really atmospheric. Makes you remember that so much turmoil is happening on what is essentially a speck of dust in the world. Amazing track.
Do we want to talk about the increasing tension from 1:58 that ends at 2:14,when the spaceship really speeds up traveling at the speed of light through wormholes emitting that bassline into every direction into the universe
0:00 is "What Do the Eyes of the Millions Seek?" by Herbert Allen, and 1:04 onward is "Sleep On!" by Herbert Allen, from "Space Is So Startling". It's on Spotify, as of 2024.
Just heard this on Groove Salad Station on Soma FM - killer track 👍
Yet another timeless classic by Luke. Like many of his tracks, it seems to be humorous yet atmospheric at the same time.

I've been wondering that as well, I assumed it was Star Trek or something, that funny robot type character
