I've only done soils and regular hydro with leca before,I still watched this entire video and when I found out about pon and granulets semi-hydro, I had to try it. This is by far the most informative and helpful starter video out there.I wish I could have showed it to myself a few months ago!!

Ann, could you advise on any home made nutrient solution I can use for this? Seaweed extract liquid or others? Could you advise, on how this can be made? I am ready to create this set up and had forgotten about the hydroponic solution you used. Am eager to try it without waiting to obtain the solution. Do let me know if there’s such an option..many thanks!

Co-incidence. I recently started growing my dying monstera deliciosa cutting in Leca. It's doing well and looks beautiful in a glass container. I wasn't aware about the hydroponics nutrition as I didn't do much research. I'll get that soon.
I want to explore more options too in hydroponics but unsure if I should do that right now. So I guess I'll keep experimenting with Leca for a few months.
Thank you for this informative article Ann,
    it helps a lot. 💚

Weekly flushing is also needed to avoid issues. Some might say its not necessary but once a healthy plant rots one will realise how important it is.

These are designed to be used for hydroponics and semi-hydroponics. They may be too diluted to be used with soil. For soil ideally you need nutrients that get released slowly over time.

When the video started i immediately started thinking of asking if string of hearts will do good in leca because my SOH almost died in soil. So i took it out and have placed them in sphagnum moss inside a closed container. Had ordered plant substrate from nicole and asked if it will do good in it but she said it wouldn’t. Now i guess after this video i m clear that it wouldn’t do good in leca either. So can you suggest if i should repot the strings in soil later or shall i leave it sphagnum because its doing good their

Since the water level is not fully exposed and the top layer is only Leca, it is difficult for larvae to survive. I have never had mosquitoes breed there. Nonetheless, it's best to keep a keen eye out.

    Hi Ann ,
That point at 14 minutes 7 seconds! Caught my attention 🙋That's what I was really wanting to hear about... I lost A few cuttings of my wandering jew n money plant... Maybe it was the lack of nutrition or brittle roots , or even over watering 🙆 I used to fill it up to the brim 🤦
Actually tried it out after watching your video with Plantastic Sunny ... I had it all wrong n put my leca off in the corner of my garden thinking it's useless 🤷 Maybe it's time to get my hands back on them 🥳 Going ahead n trying it once again with the tips n tricks I learnt in this video 🤗
    Happy Gardening 💐
    P.S.
Wanted to know if it's really necessary to wash/clean the leca or soak it before using them for the fist time after purchase ...
Please do lemme know on this 🙋
    Thanks 😊
