What a bummer... It started out well with the shade and coverage. Any makeup that emphasizes my lines and wrinkles is a big no-go. This appears to be something formulated for more oily skin types, perhaps. So sorry to hear about sweet Merlin. I'm right here with you, lost my Taj in July from kidney disease just 3 weeks before she would have turned 19. :(
Hugs for Taj! Kidney disease is so sneaky too. They can bounce back from what seems like the end, but then also decline so fast. Mer was diagnosed as early stage back when he was 10 and then they told me expect him to go within 2 years... he made it almost 9 and didn't show symptoms until this year.
@@goow Back when my Taj was 14 the vet told me she had the beginnings of the disease and from that point until earlier this year, her only symptom was drinking lots of water. I converted all of my cats to a homemade raw diet 9 years ago so I think the moisture and lack of so many carbs in cat food kept it at bay for so long. I miss her so much. She was a tiny peanut of a cat, all black with the flat face and round eyes of a Burmese.
So sorry for your loss of Merlin. I lost my mini donkey Jackson, on Christmas night. He was close to 30 according to the vet. Pet loss can be devastating.

Thanks, Tina! That's one of the few things I can thank the pandemic for - being home constantly to care for him in those last few months he was declining. I could've never been so attentive if I had to be away from home for work. So there's that, at least. I spent a lot of time with him this year.

There’s nothing quite like the love of a pet and I wish you my sincere condolences and everything you need to heal.
I loved seeing a picture of Merlin. He looked a little like my Persephone, that I lost at the end of November. She was mostly white with the grey around her head and face also. I'm so sorry that he's gone. The only thing that I can say is that he's over the Rainbow Bridge now and playing with no pain or disease anymore. Thanks for the review because I was interested in this one but it's definitely out now. My skin is too close to your type to waste the money. I wonder if it's the hylauronic in it that's making it feel so dry after a few hours? If it's pulling the moisture out of your skin rather than putting it in or even protecting it from being pulled out. When my dad passed in April, I felt so much comfort that our beloved dogs raised up their heads as they saw him come over Rainbow Bridge & ran to him as my mother smiled & waved. Losing our fur babies is heartbreaking, I agree that they are pain free now & that's what counts. So so sorry about beautiful Merlin. Your an awesome kitty mamma! 🙏💯

I have dry skin but it’s not so problematic skin and not too many wrinkles but I added a drop or two of the Versed Hydration Station Booster with Hyaluronic Acid Facial Treatment - 0.5 fl oz and it worked like a charm really like it a lot! I add that to any foundation that I find too dry and it helps a lot .. And I’m so sorry about your kitty ❤️
Another great honest review. Thank you Shelly. I'll not be purchasing so. Tried out the good molecules primer on new years eve. I had heard so many good things about it and that it even blurred out pores. Not for me it didn't. I'll be quickly returning to my poreless putty primer. Aw Shelly so sad to hear about Merlin. What an age. He obviously was well looked after. It's horrible when our furry sisters/brothers get sick and eventually have to part this world. They really are a part of the family. We still miss our beautiful lab who left us in July 2017. She would have been 16 today if she was still with us. She got diabetes and didn't respond to insulin. She was headed for a diabetic coma and was in severe pain so we had to put her to sleep instead and she fought it. Heartbreaking watching her go. Sending great big massive hugs across the pond to ya

I hate the kind of foundations that cling to my dry patches and just get drier throughout the day. Those are the worst. I just got the cc cream in the mail this week and am trying it out tomorrow when I go to my new FLGS (don't worry, being super safe with masks and going when we know no one else will be in the shop. Oh gosh. I wasn't at all happy with this foundation. The color was off, but I found the foundation to be very drying, tight, and felt it on my face all day. Couldn't wait to get it off. I tried various primers, setting sprays, and even adding an oil. No luck for me. 👎👎 You described it perfectly. Like being in shrink wrap. I was going to warn you, but I wanted to see what you thought. What a sweet picture of Merlin. Sweet boy. 😽 RIP. He was very much loved. ❤ Here's to a better New Year. 🥰💖
So sorry about Merlin. We lost our 15 year old beagle this fall, so hard to lose a fur baby. I just placed an elf order for the new mint bite sized palette and couldn’t bring myself to spend the $14 for the Camo CC cream. Don’t really need another foundation and I haven’t had a lot of luck with the concealers so it didn’t seem like a good purchase. Thanks for the review, I can feel good about skipping it!
hi Shelly! first off wishing you and yours a happy and healthy New Year 🎉... and I'm so sorry about the loss of Merlin 😔... now, the CC Cream, let me tell you, I ordered right after it came out, the shade finder on e.l.f's website never worked so I went by the shade description, oh my! 🤦 besides being too dark for me, it's also waaaay too yellow, and to make matters worse it oxidized 😲 so I ended up looking like an Oompa Loompa 😆 not cute, then I also felt my skin dry after a few hrs, so the 2nd time I tried to make it work by mixing it with a hydrating foundation, still made my skin dry, it didn't look super dry but I could feel my skin a bit tight, and then it looked too matte for my taste, I also like more of a dewy finish foundations, so nope, not a fan of this one 😬... hugzzz ❤️

As soon as people started to compare the elf CC cream with the It Cosmetics one, I declined the idea of buying it bcause the It Cosmetics looks awful on my skin.🤷♀️ My skin is combo (dry/ oily t zone).
Yeah I'm definitely not buying this lol I'm glad I didn't jump the gun and buy it right away. I almost did but I like fresh dewy cc creams and stuff. Hopefully they come out with a dewy or hydrating version like they did with the concealer. Great video!
Yeah the only way I can get this cc cream to work on my dry skin is to mix it with Loreal Age Perfect serum foundation or Missha BB. I bet e.l.f. will release a "hydrating" cc cream soon. Just like they did with the concealer.
I have the same exact face as you! Im 46 as well. I have a lot of micro wrinkles, my smile lines, big pores that arent too noticeable with no makeup, so to put it on and they are excentuated, no yhank you! So thank you for testing it..Im so sorry about your fur baby 😪

Girl you’re not alone, nearly every foundation that typically looks great on me has been looking like a flaky patchy mess. I already have dry skin and it just gets that much drier during winter.
I’m so sorry about the loss of your kitty 😭😭. And I have really dry skin too and the only way I’ve been able to make the camo cc cream work is by mixing it with the elf retro glow oil! Maybe give that a try! Along with a hydrating primer
I actually found this cc cream at my local target and I thought it was weird since I thought you could only buy online but anyway I was so excited to see it that I almost bought it lol but glad I decided not to cause after seeing your review and many others I know now I’m definitely passing on this one cause I heard many others also say it’s drying! Shelley I’m so sorry to hear about Merlin. We lost our Sophie girl on the 27th and man. I miss that damn dog ever single day. Our fur children mean so much to us. Anddd now I’m crying lol. Hugs from WA. Hope the other kiddos are dealing ok with their loss.

I'm so very sorry about Merlin. I have two cats and a dog myself. If I lost any of them I would be inconsolable, so I feel for you. I hate the kind of foundations that cling to my dry patches and just get drier throughout the day. Those are the worst. I'm so sorry for your loss, its never easy losing a kitters. I just got the cc cream in the mail this week and am trying it out tomorrow when I go to my new FLGS (don't worry, being super safe with masks and going when we know no one else will be in the shop. I need to get the Plague Doctor plush!) Hopefully this can with stand mask and my weird oily/ combination skin!

RIP, Merlin. I'm so sorry, Shelly, for your loss. We lost a cat about 3 yrs ago now who had lived a long life and was my daughter's baby. It was devastating mostly due to how quickly she went downhill. We still have 2 cats and a dog, and 2 of the 3 are getting old now and having some problems. I dread going through that pain again. 😪

I'm so sorry for your loss, Sarah :( With so many cats having chronic kidney problems in old age, I wonder why we haven't been able to improve it with science yet. I suppose veterinary medicine doesn't get the same funding as human medicine. But oy it hurts the heart!

Oh gosh. I wasn't at all happy with this foundation. The color was off, but I found the foundation to be very drying, tight, and felt it on my face all day. Couldn't wait to get it off. I tried various primers, setting sprays, and even adding an oil. No luck for me. 👎👎

I didn't like the Elf CC cream when i used primer. Had the same problems. Used it without primer and it worked great.

So sorry about Merlin. We lost our 15 year old beagle this fall, so hard to lose a fur baby. I just placed an elf order for the new mint bite sized palette and couldn’t bring myself to spend the $14 for the Camo CC cream. Don’t really need another foundation and I haven’t had a lot of luck with the concealers so it didn’t seem like a good purchase. Thanks for the review, I can feel good about skipping it!

hi Shelly! first off wishing you and yours a happy and healthy New Year 🎉... and I'm so sorry about the loss of Merlin 😔... now, the CC Cream, let me tell you, I ordered right after it came out, the shade finder on e.l.f's website never worked so I went by the shade description, oh my! 🤦 besides being too dark for me, it's also waaaay too yellow, and to make matters worse it oxidized 😲 so I ended up looking like an Oompa Loompa 😆 not cute, then I also felt my skin dry after a few hrs, so the 2nd time I tried to make it work by mixing it with a hydrating foundation, still made my skin dry, it didn't look super dry but I could feel my skin a bit tight, and then it looked too matte for my taste, I also like more of a dewy finish foundations, so nope, not a fan of this one 😬... hugzzz ❤️

As soon as people started to compare the elf CC cream with the It Cosmetics one, I declined the idea of buying it bcause the It Cosmetics looks awful on my skin.🤷♀️ My skin is combo (dry/ oily t zone).
Yeah I'm definitely not buying this lol I'm glad I didn't jump the gun and buy it right away. I almost did but I like fresh dewy cc creams and stuff. Hopefully they come out with a dewy or hydrating version like they did with the concealer. Great video!
Yeah the only way I can get this cc cream to work on my dry skin is to mix it with Loreal Age Perfect serum foundation or Missha BB. I bet e.l.f. will release a "hydrating" cc cream soon. Just like they did with the concealer.
I have the same exact face as you! Im 46 as well. I have a lot of micro wrinkles, my smile lines, big pores that arent too noticeable with no makeup, so to put it on and they are excentuated, no yhank you! So thank you for testing it..Im so sorry about your fur baby 😪

Are you going to do the new Wet n Wild tinted moisturizer? I'm glad I had self control and didn't buy this because almost everything has been looking super cakey on me lately.
Girl you’re not alone, nearly every foundation that typically looks great on me has been looking like a flaky patchy mess. I already have dry skin and it just gets that much drier during winter.

I’m so sorry about the loss of your kitty 😭😭. And I have really dry skin too and the only way I’ve been able to make the camo cc cream work is by mixing it with the elf retro glow oil! Maybe give that a try! Along with a hydrating primer
I actually found this cc cream at my local target and I thought it was weird since I thought you could only buy online but anyway I was so excited to see it that I almost bought it lol but glad I decided not to cause after seeing your review and many others I know now I’m definitely passing on this one cause I heard many others also say it’s drying! Such a shame cause ELF always makes outstanding products
