I was greeted by two Newfies yesterday when delivering parcels and they just wouldn’t let me leave. They’re the coolest dogs out there and trust me, their strength is no joke. I’m 230lbs and workout and I couldn’t make these guys budge when they surrounded me as they wanted to be petted endlessly. Covered in fur for the rest of my shift but I didn’t care. For 10 minutes of my time, they made my day.
I have had many dogs, but none as smart and sensitive as a Newf. They KNOW things, such as people's intentions. They also seem to know how people will react to them. Loved the neighbors awe of these beautiful pups.
@@rbrtmllr Newfie in terms for the dog is not seen as a derogatory term. Not that I have ever heard and I am a Newfoundlander too When used a s derogatory term for the people from here, yes we do take offence. For me though it is in all how it is intended.
@@caeliknight in the UK we call the Dogs Newfies.....Plus it depends on how its being used as a word. It can be used as a term of endearment or be derogatory - it depends on the context. Its like the Brits calling Americans Yanks - Which of course in the context of WW2 was very endearing...Brits calling the French Frogs....well yeah...guilty as charged
I guess it is fair to say the bigger the dog, the more placid they are. I would love to look after a Newfoundland dog for life and make sure they are loved like family well they are family as far as I'm concerned but there is a couple of drawbacks, the food bill will be off the scale but the worst drawback is bigger dogs like Newfoundlands usually never live that long and that is the biggest drawback of all no matter much a large dog is cared for. The reason why I say looking after instead of owning a dog is not because of a temporary thing but it is a known fact that almost all living beings on the planet have their own ideas and thoughts, including dogs and there different types of intelligence not more or less but different types only which is always a good thing.
