Great video, this assembly line is a great example to implement lean methodologies The line seems to be very manual from coaters to end pack. Few things I have noticed: Excess inventory, people on the lines, low units produced per scheduled hours, high risks of injury especially on rotary equipment like seamer, flanger, curler. The body former and welder can be combined to streamline the process and reduce excess labor. Considering the cost of metal, labor cost . I am curious to learn how the owner has managed to keep the business profitable.
me singing: "Come with me..... and you'll see.... a world of OSHA violations"... Apparently in India the metal is not sharp so you do not need cut resistant gloves. No need for machine guarding there. Then on the seamer where there is spinning equipment, they do wear gloves, which is the worst thing you could do. Just WOW
Wow! That can factory is one FILTHY place!!! And I was surprised by which parts of the process are very automated--and which other parts were NOT! What a boring, repetitive, and de-humanizing job it would be to work in such a place, doing the same simple movements over and over again, all day long! It couldn't be done without an ample supply of very cheap labor...
