Personally, I have to calm down. Lol I have to listen to folks like you who have been through this before . I think I am just gonna save up for the CZ Giratina so I can finish my master set & enjoy my Prismatic order. We'll see what happens.
I'm definitely not spending these prices on prismatic. I'm happy picking up the unwanted sets haha. Shrouded Fable was one of my favorites to master set
You have definitely opened my mind to just purchasing singles. With the amount I have spent on lost origin, I could have already bought the giratina. 😂
The chase is a big part of the fun and after a while that went away for me. It was almost always a loss so the chase became less exciting over time. I totally get the pack opening I just changed how I collect over the years.
I’m going to resist anything new for now, saving for the black and white. As that was my favourite era. Still got surging sparks cards to finish yet, and help the kids finish there shrouded fable sets.
Danggit Bobby, just when I was ready to move on the sell out rates before I can grab anything new have me thinking of overspending on older stuff I had convinced myself I no longer want. I'm still wanting something Shining Fates sealed.
I believe Umbreon has hit the ceiling but that is just my guess because of where it is at. I recommend a channel called Reserved Investments. I've learned so much from him and I think his knowledge would be beneficial for you because you have so much knowledge and perspective on the Pokemon cards.
@@VRule1@craigybaby22 The temptation is real. It's addictive as any drug, haha. I feel like this channel and the comments are kinda like a support group for staying grounded.
Trying to share a real journey. I am very blessed and I know there are people who can get a lot more than I but also many who can't get much at all. The journey is a long game and in the end works out for people.
At this point in the hobby I have decided, after around 24-30 packs of one set to: either buy the chase cards in that set I want within my price range, buy more product to not open for 3-7 years, or consider it done and put it in a binder. (With the exception of special set's im interested, like Eeveelutions)
As someone who just appreciates your content and only has a small chance of winning anyway I would be happy to receive any ETB pokemon center or otherwise. Love what you’re doing man keep up the great videos!
Agreed people who purchase at ridiculous prices are to blame. I understand the investment side of the hobby that become a thing over the years but I dislike it tbh. I have been collecting since 96' and I preferred it when it was about collecting cards, not product to keep sealed and stare at
I think if pull rates were better people would lean into the master sets more often and sealed wouldn't be as valuable this early on with sets. Back when Pokemon started you could get a booster box with 1-3 charizards in it. Lots of duplicate cards because the focus was the game. Now it has changed so much people who re-enter the hobby are in shock of what it has become and have a hard time recognizing it.
Yeah, something happened and it looks like this release was an epic fail. Not the first time they have had this. Pokemon Company needs to carve out a new position so I can help with set release and product availability strategies. It really isn't that hard to securely regulate this stuff.
With great caution, especially during a boom. Seller ratings, their history as a seller, recent listings are all helpful in selecting who to buy from. Use a credit card through PayPal and that with eBay perfection will be a help should you get into a bad situation.
Crazy days! I've been in the hobby for about 2 months and I'm discovering that I'm not built for investment collecting or marathon ripping. I love the dopemine rush of pulling great cards buuut... I'm going to be focusing on the IRL TCG. Building decks and playing with fellow hobbiests. Its a great way to enjoy the hobby for cheap. Playing Pokemon TCG Live online is a great way to learn and test out decks. As far as collecting, I can still just buy individual cards that I personally love the art for. I'd love to still build some master sets but I'm going to go at my own pace. That isn't to say that if I won the lottery tomorrow that you wouldnt see me out there, wheeling and dealing with the big kids. Haha.
Doesn’t really matter what people say at the time of release over time it all goes up. Looking to singles is a good shift when it is so hard to get sealed.
@VRule1 i mean yeah that's what I had to do for 151 and im still missing collection boxes but not going wild. Seriously couldn't get anything of the journey together because the site kept crashing. I'll focus on grading cards this year.
This might be odd but because this set is impossible for me to get I changed over to Japanese cards. It feels so much better mentally. It's like enjoying Pokemon again but you are outside of the toxic part of the game.
Id like a video on some of your personal collection and any backstories that go with them :D
That's a good idea. We know I can go on so it wouldn't be hard to do.
We're waiting for this, selling more now. To keep ahead of it. Love your show
Thank you!
Always appreciate your perspective. I've started to become a little more selective myself.
That's the way to go!
I think im gonna save up for the crash and sit on my throne of shrouded fable etb's waiting... silently... ready to strike
Nice!
Great to see your channel growing good stuff
Thank you!

It takes time to figure out what works for you and it will change as you grow with the hobby. I have a lot to learn still.
I'm definitely not spending these prices on prismatic. I'm happy picking up the unwanted sets haha. Shrouded Fable was one of my favorites to master set
I'm sticking to older sets in scarlet and violet. And working on master sets for them. Also best of luck to hitting 5k subs!
S&V base is a great one to master. Obsidian is also reasonable these days considering the booming market.
Thanks for your content 👍🏻
Thank you for watching. The support from all of you is what keeps me going!
Very informative knowledge different options to obtain cards i need along the way
Thank you!
I agree please could we have more about you and how u got into it. Do u have a favourite artist?
I'm boring. lol my wife thinks I'm a nerd and we don't tell anyone I'm into pokemon haha
Lets go! Love the content love the channel! Happy collecting my friend!
Thank you for the support!
Keep up the great work my man !!!
Thank you!

That's a good plan. It will feel good to complete a set amid the craziness of the hobby!
🎉🎉
Thank you!

Shining fates sealed isn't too bad these days it may be good to work toward an etb or something.
🫡💯🤙🤙🤙

I'll have to take a look. Thanks for the suggestion!
😊

Everyone: Don't buy sealed items 2nd hand.. Simple!!
If it were only that simple. People can't help themselves and idk if we can help them understand.

Good to see someone with the feet on earth to this madness 😂

Never bought a booster box, but Ns reshiram is a must have!
Agreed!
Good work
Looks like the Gengar And Tina alt arts will be $1000 in a couple months. Just crazy.
They easily could. Will they sustain at those prices? Time will tell. This boom will cost some people a lot if and when things settle again.
Lets go Vrule!
Thank you!

I don’t see journey together
on the Pokemon website anymore. Even the booster boxes I have are going up fast

the prices are insane tbh
Yeah they are getting hard to handle at this point.
I'm really excited for journey together
Curious as to what you think of buying from eBay for sealed items and how you approach it.
With great caution, especially during a boom. Seller ratings, their history as a seller, recent listings are all helpful in selecting who to buy from. Use a credit card through PayPal and that with eBay perfection will be a help should you get into a bad situation.

Agreed. Find the few you really want in a collection and work toward that. "Gotta catch em all" is long gone these days.
Im just amazed at how much money people have to buy from the scalpers.
Seriously. I could not spend $150 on an etb that isn't even out yet. It's nuts!
I'm hoping when I go to another card show that I can trade with someone for an evo skies booster box. That price is crazy but understandable.
Trading into select products and cards seems to be a more viable option to building out a collection these days.
@VRule1 i mean yeah that's what I had to do for 151 and im still missing collection boxes but not going wild. Seriously couldn't get anything of the journey together because the site kept crashing. I'll focus on grading cards this year.

I find myself looking to other languages as well these days.
Shrouded is just a trash set all around nothing really good in that set
There are a couple of cool looking IRs.
Giveaways are fake
damm this box will be mine
Sounds like a plan!
