I really hope Exodia comes back as an A Challenger Appears deck. It definitely isn't as hysterical to watch as it was at first, but having it show up for a video for future CBCs would be a riot.
Okay just finished the video… wow. All it took for Exodia to finally get beaten was losing dice roll to a deck that floodgates special summons, runs droll, and dimensional fissure. 😂
props to the winner, I think the side deck really made the difference here as the drolls and the dfissures are hugely impactful in this matchup whereas if you look at the previous match vs Metalfoes, that deck had almost no way to meaningfully interact with the exodia deck at all
Correct me if I'm wrong, but was setting the Sangan around 2:06 a misplay? If held then there are multiple topdecks that win it, including the 2 remaining pieces which allow you to discard the Sangan to hand size and search the remaining piece, unless I am missing something.
FFS surrending so early with exodia, spellbooks are so slow you easily get a few more turns. You could hard draw the exodia pieces with cards like graceful and pot of greed
Turns out the only deck that can beat Exodia is the one deck that’s even more consistent than Exodia (and also has the anti-last will floodgate monster)
I’m glad something finally put a stop to this cheesy ass exodia deck. Droll and spell book of judgement where just the right tools needed to defeat them it
Well, what do you know? I voted with my heart, and I was rewarded. Well done to one of my favorite decks. I'm glad to see the first win against Exodia wasn't a fluke.
i have a strong feelings next video will be 15 min and if Lith includes exodia vs whoever wins, it will go over 20 min and I don't mind starting my year with an over 20 min from Lith 😁
@@toadfan64we can do without all 3? @@andrejv.2834synchro infernity appeared a lot as well (both with and without Trish), pend magician won the CBC 2019, Sylvan underperformed twice (same problem as XYZ infernity, soul charge cannot carry all the time). I would like to see evilsearm again tho.
Sad to see. Exodia was probably the deck that can take 2 games off both Tear and Snake Eyes. It functions fine under Veiler, Imperm, Mourner, and Nibiru. It doesn't care about having Kaleido or Rulkallos summoned on its turn.
idk if it’s just the inflection in his voice, but at 3:15 it sounds like he says “that shit is funny” and honestly it fits even if it’s not what he says lmfao
Lame. Wanted to see Exodia face off against Tear. Also, do bring back Exodia again next year. The matches were wayy too funny and to see a 1999 deck actually do what it did is too good.
"Exodia is the best deck and is gonna beat ish tear in finals" 😂😂😂. Jokes aside, im really glad spellbook took this one. The cross banlist tournament was not exactly a cross banlist cup, but if you wanna consider that as part of this series then spellbook is the first two-times champion of the cbc 🎉🎉🎉. Honorable mention to pepe and clownblade, both decks made it to finals twice but only won once. Rulers kind of won twice but you know, baby rulers and ravine rulers sre different decks in my opinion so... Ok whatever. Im glad to see 2013 domination 🎉🎉🎉.
Well deserved win. I think exodia was cool to see at first, but as a contender on cbc it gets stale really quickly and prevents us from seeing other decks that offer actual gameplay. I prefer it on a challenge appears
Spellbook has faced modern decks in previous editions and sadly ... Lost every match... It only defeated dark warrior so it's not looking that great to be honest 🤔
@@sejotejerina3732 Spellbooks beat Tear in 2022 during a challenger appears. Obviously needs to go first and end on Jowgen to have any hope, but it's not impossible.
@@that70sjunkie well, that was a best of 1. What I said is when spellbook participated in the bottom bracket, spellbooks didn't stand a full match, except of course against dark warrior, the weakest deck from MR4, but that was a super strange and boring match.
I mean there is a reason its behind 10y of powercreep and now has all legal at 3 and dont see play ahah, but in 2013 when you read spellbook of judgment for the first after waiting support for a cool grindy deck was very xddd
Yeah, somewhat expected. Spellbooks is a super hard counter to Exodia. Exodia's hands not the best either. Next match, matchup of the titans. Two decks that were expected to be here, though it hasn't been too smooth a road.
name a more lopsided deck than this exodia deck. literally every video with it is dub 10 minute because you either ftk in like max 10 effects or it does absolutely nothing and just dies instantly

Happy new year Lithium2300 and more Cross Banlist Cup for 2025 🎉🎉🎉
Gelukkig nieuwjaar, happy new year!
10 years after the first ever Cross Banlist Cup, Spellbooks take it again! This is so hype. Happy New Year, wish you all the best
its the third judgment that gets you

Yeah I want to see how it fares against some of the lower bracket decks lol
Okay just finished the video… wow. All it took for Exodia to finally get beaten was losing dice roll to a deck that floodgates special summons, runs droll, and dimensional fissure. 😂
books would have won even if the die roll was reversed
@@necropants9971duh, they have droll
I've been saying the whole time it would lose to the 1st deck that played droll or shifter against it
It lost twice against spellbook

Not really because he couldnt attack either way because of the spellbook quick play. There was nothing else to do.
You're absolutely right, Lithium needs to be thinking about end phase discard as an actual line more often
7:06 pretty sure Spellbooks won the first ever CBC, against rulers in the finals
They did, yes. They won pretty easily because there was no siding allowed back then.
Its because judgement was busted
FFS surrending so early with exodia, spellbooks are so slow you easily get a few more turns. You could hard draw the exodia pieces with cards like graceful and pot of greed

I have never wanted Spellbooks to win so bad. Get this toxic Exodia deck out of here!
Turns out the only deck that can beat Exodia is the one deck that’s even more consistent than Exodia (and also has the anti-last will floodgate monster)
Ahhhh my favorite New Year’s Eve tradition. Watching the finals of the cross banlist cup 😁
6:05 Judgment inception 😵💫
Last Will is game if you just have 16 monsters in deck including Cannon Solider, even if you don't have Exodia
Your PFP solo’s this entire match.
Almost tied with the other Spellbook matchup for longest Exodia video!
I’m glad something finally put a stop to this cheesy ass exodia deck. Droll and spell book of judgement where just the right tools needed to defeat them it
Jowgen Pass proving not even Exodia is a threat.
Spellbook is designed to counter exodia. Chaos and metalfoes might actually beat that in a match
3 floodgates at 5:00 lmao
eat shit exodia
8 MINUTES??
I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE TWO 4 MINUTE MATCHES LMAOOOOO
Dimensional Fissure came in real handy for this matchup.

OG Runick won as expected, Droll + Jowgen + 2 Bo5's is too much for exodia
Wonder if they even get one game against the modern winner
Honestly, we don't need the OG Exodia deck in the CBL again, watching that deck play felt like watching MR4/5 all over again...

A floodgate deck vs a FTK deck. Old yugioh had its fair share of shenanigans too!
Thank God. Never thought I would cheer on a floodgate deck ever in my life. Never put this cancer Exodia deck in again.
