@@datname1939 do u realize that lyles wont peak until the olympics (in terms of trajectory with training) and he already was under .1 of a second within a world record set by non other than usain bolt? if everything goes smoothly in training, that world record might be very much his, bolts 200 record is not as unbreakable as people make it out to be (his 100 record is a different story tho)

@@o_CwNOOB_o bolt didnt do indoor events tho, he most likely had far more time to prep for this category, and was already more progressed in training, not to mention lyles speed endurance is likely better than bolts, as his times gets closer and closer as the farther the distance, for example bolts 100m is a whole .25 faster than lyles, but lyles is extremely close to him in the 150 and 200 (.06 and .11 apart)
This video claims that Bolt was not good at maintaining the same speed in the latter part of the race, but it fails to acknowledge that Bolt had competed in rounds of the 100m, which Yohan Blake and Noah Lyles didn't do. Naturally, he was tired before even running the 200m. Yohan Blake's 19.26s was achieved in a Diamond League one-off race with no rounds, allowing him to run while very fresh. Noah Lyles' 19.31s was achieved without running the 100m, although he did run rounds of the 200m, making him much fresher than Bolt, who did rounds of both 100m and 200m. Therefore, Bolt's speed and endurance achievements cannot be compared to these two; he was truly extraordinary.

Noah Lyles will break that WR if he targets Diamond League one-off races or invitational events. He will not be able to break the WR if he tries to do so during the Olympics, where he has to go through rounds of the 100m and then rounds of the 200m.
@@schicco what that had to do with the subject. The guy said no one was ever close to Bolt’s record when someone actually run faster. Yohan Blake’s 19.26 was +0.7 wind aided while Bolt’s 19.19 was -0.3. According to this if you calculate people will say Bolt actually run faster. My point is if Blake didn’t sleep in the starting blocks that day he would have broken that record that day.

His running form in the final 50m is iconic, so clean, he looks like pure speed.
By the time hes done, I won't be surprised if he beats Bolt.
Bolt WRs except for the 9.72s was set after 4 rounds in Globals. The 200m thus was after EIGHT races.
The issue for Noah is that he’s probably maxed his second 100m but still doesn’t have the raw speed for the first 100m especially on the bend. His efforts to improve this will cost him in the closing half. Only peak Blake had both the necessary speed and endurance to break that record and would have with that 19.26 if he didn’t fall asleep in the blocks. And Bolt himself in better conditions could have dropped that record down to about 19:05 or so, just never got great conditions for his record runs.
What up lyels you got to run a 18.87 to keep that record to win nobody can beat it for a long time then you got to exercise when you lifting weights with your legs you don't want to lift heavy you want to lift lite light for amount of time or maybe 3 minutes that's what I do 3 minutes and 20 seconds working on your posture and speed the rest is up to you when you feel the burn that's where you make the growth of your speed also if you know how to use the butt then that'll work as well!
Lyles needs something like a 10.05 + 9.12 = 19.17 to break it. For him that is a really fast first 100 and to hold form / endurance perfectly in the second 100 m. It is not impossible but probability is small !
I definitely think Lyles can break that record, but he would need to solely focus on the 200m to achieve this feat (don't run the double). We saw last year how by the 200m final his legs had so much fatigue in them (100m and 200m) that he didn't come close to breaking it. For Bolt this is made to be far more impressive when you consider the fact that he had 7 rounds in his legs prior, one of which included his 9.58 100m WR 4 days prior. Bolt also ran during a time where there were 2 heats and one semi-final before the finals, as opposed to the one heat and one semi-final of today's time. The conditions he ran both of his 200m WR (19.30 (-0.9m/s) + 19.19 (-0.3m/s) were nothing short of impressive, and one could only imagine how fast it could've been had he chosen to solely focus on the 200m and not do the double and had favorable wind conditions like Lyles and Blake.
When Yohan Blake and Noah Lyles ran their fastest time it was both done while having fresher legs, as Lyles didn't do the double in 2022 and Yohan just had that 200m for that day as part of a regular diamond league meet. I say all this to contextualize Bolt's performance, and to show truly just how great he was. If we engage in "What If's" then it goes without saying that Bolt could've ran near or even under the 19 second barrier had he chosen to forgo the 100m in 2009.
I agree. If he solely focused on it he'd have a better shot that or if he body reaches the right fitness level to do rounds of 100 and 200 and still run at peak
14.41 and 14.35 are neck and neck to one another…just about a step behind. If Lyle’s could maintain the same speed as bolt in the final 50, he can match the record, at least. This is also early season and Noah absolutely never runs fast early…he doesn’t even run his fastest at the trials, so that means he could get that 150M WR if he wanted it later this season. My only concern is with Noah’s endurance in the rounds. I feel trying to double will wear Noah out and he won’t run his fastest final in Paris. He should try to get the record elsewhere, despite the payout for getting it in Paris.

Then, we’ve got Noah on this elevated track platform, and these things are slow also…when putting force down to them they have tons of give. The funny thing is Bolt had more speed, but Noah has better maintenance; Bolt actually decelerated a bit in his final 15-20, and although Noah doesn’t run the same speed, his average speed has got to be very close, if not possibly higher. So, this makes for a good argument.
Bolt's 100m split was 9.91 enroute to his 14.35.
When he ran that 150 split during his 19.19, he ran the curve in 9.92 simply because of his insurmountable speed over the 100m only someone in 9.65 shape or faster can run the curve in under 10 seconds.
That means his 150m time could have been 0.2-3seconds faster on a straight track during that 19.19.
Lyle's 14.4 just means he is probably in 19.6 to 19.7 shape right now.
The 150 is not a reliable way to assess it because it's running early season when Bolt was only in 9.85 to 9.90 shape. Had he been in Berlin shape where he covered his final 50m in 4.0seconds he could have run that 150 in 14.0-1.
Mark my words... any man who beats Bolt's records will not be the same athlete afterwards. After Yohan Blake came close to Bolt's 200 record, things went downhill for him.
