You know what makes me mad ? The fact that this show doesn’t get the recognition it deserves, such good episodes and good actors

AMEN it's super sickening the acting performances in this show are top notch yet nobody gets any true recognition or awards that's why I can't watch awards shows because shows like these doesn't get what's rightfully recognized. Atwater went full Denzel Washington on us at the end of the episode on some Training Day shit.
It did get renewed for 3 more seasons..but I get what you mean

Gineesje I saw those. But like I want more. Like he’s changed a lot and I wanna see that growth. There was one episode with his siblings and it was one of my favourites, would love to see more that side of Atwater as like a older brother than just a cop.

Excellent acting by LaRoyce Hawkins. This was his best performance ever on this show. Chicago P.D. is the best show on television!
Facts among his other good acting. Him growing up outside the Chi and real life makes this hits home for him.
Now if we can just get them to stop yelling at suspects from across the street instead of sneaking up on them first or standing in front of doors when they knock on them.

You have to see the whole episode. One of the best. I love how Atwater stood up even though everyone told him not to, even though it meant sacrificing the career he worked heard for, even though it meant he would be blackballed. This is the example we need. Kudos Atwater❤

I don't think they will, it's odd to say but I don't think they want to get rid of the only black guy on the team, on top of that we really haven't gotten nearly as much of Atwater's character as others in the show for them to write him off just like that

Yoooooo this is a topic that I get soooo angry 😤 about because it happens way to often. We are born into this world with our God given skin and we should not be judged or harassed for it. This episode needs to be recognized because it shines light on issues that we still continue to face. What cops don’t seem to understand is that under that uniform is a person and we are people too.

Fool Slayer This show has been on for seven seasons. There’s no reason to show Voight as a racist this deep in the game. If they do make that kind of drastic change it would be bad writing on their part.

Every episode involving the inner city of Chicago (gang violence, racism, corruption, etc...) and/or Atwater as one of the lead characters, Eriq LaSalle has either served as director, or co-producer, or executive producer (since season 4). As of right now, he is still on the P.D. directing and producing team.
Yeah and they immediately forgot about this storyline once the protestors were out of the news. These networks don’t care.

I was really happy that Atwater didnt stay quiet. This should be an interesting storyline next season. I wanna see how Kevin deals with the blowback and I wanna see the unit rally around him. They can run with this the whole season.

After viewing this, I realized they hadn't addressed Atwater's racist enemies during this last season. Hopefully, they will continue with Kevin and the issue with Nolan next season. This show is my favorite and so is Atwater👍
They did. He broke into Nolan’s house and basically said if you force me out of being a cop I’m marching in the street with my signs labeling you as a racist. My team will be marching beside me backing me up, do you think your team will still stand beside you when I label you a racist? I’ll destroy your legacy and your reputation. Nolan agreed to back off of Atwater and that’s how things ended. Kevin kept his job, a bad cop was neutralized and the memory of an innocent man and father preserved(the guy who was delivering sneakers) and well everyone knows Doyle was a bad and reckless cop and it led to his death.

So I just started watching this show like a month ago and I can’t get enough.
Season 8 is gonna be great
Wow such an explosive and emotional episode. Unfortunately we will have to wait until next season to find out what happens.
Atwater now has a bullseye on his back; time for Intelligence to rally the troops and call in some favors. Chicago PD is one of the best police dramas to grace the small screen.
As an aside, it would be cool if the writers would allow Atwater to have some sort of romantic interest. All work and no play is going to make my fave very dull; he is WAY too fine to not have someone in his life.😄😜😎👑🔥💥
It should've been paramedic Emily Foster from Chicago Fire. But she left the show in the season finale. No surprise there. She had indicated that she missed the daily soaps. Probably for the best that Atwater doesn't have anyone. It just makes him more vulnerable. A weakness he can't afford right now.
They'll probably have him link up with Vanessa Rojas eventually. However Atwater is classy and about the Job he probably wouldn't want to mix work and pleasure. I could see it going either way

Like Kevin Atwater said that Tommy Doyle is a gladiator cop who ends up unjustly accusing and unjustly arresting and abusing two men, one who was walking down the street bringing a pair of sneakers to his cousin. Afterwards, Tommy Doyle goes on the offensive and starts attacking them and shooting at them

He's gangsta as hell, but he made or is still making at least a couple of really bad mistakes.
1) when he took his son out of a DUI. He had a bad accident, and he really did a d**k move by vanishing the charges.
2) his social club buddies. No one in there has a clean or either a small rap sheet. It looks like protecting mafia.
To top it off, everyone else seems to pay for crap that he does. Ex: Al. He literally went to jail for him.
I live by one rule: either you die a hero or you live enough to become a villain. He lived more than enough

What I like about this scene is when the suspect says to Voight that a cop shot first he doesn't believe him, but when Atwater says that it's true, Voight is ready to back him.

Kevin sold out from the get go by allowing that cop Doyle to get away with a previous scrap. Atwater was skeptical the whole time knowing in his gut this guy hasn't changed, didn't need to be pals, just respect as one cop to another. Getting into Doyle's car was his second mistake.
