For anyone curious! Gumaysu was subbed out as a decision by T1 Head Coach KK0ma, who said, "The reason is that we want to try as many things as possible during the LCK Cup to gather the best data and information." Hope this helps
Dude how Rekkless approaches these conversations with questions is amazing. Truly trying to soak in as much information as he can. Very blessed to have him 5:45
As much as im a guma enjoyer its cool to see smash play well in his debut, there’s sooo much pressure there and he gapped his lane. Hopefully smash finds a spot in lck and guma gets a fire lit to fill out his champ pool
Smash has already been in T1 org for years and says he doesn’t want to be on any other team Too bad Guma also said the same thing. I wonder if we’ll get an easyhoon situation I kinda miss when teams used Subs strategically. Especially with fearless draft. It’s hard to be good on every good champ
They skipped the entire pick ban phase in the first was the main focus, I also watched it and had no problems with it too. Didn’t even notice it repeated lol
Been watching T1 for the longest time, and while Gumayusi has always been up there skill wise, even with his Worlds wins and some individual outplays against the best when it matters (e.g., Varus vs. Ruler Zeri and vs. Gala Aphelios), I've never felt comfortable ranking him above Ruler or Viper. I assume this is largely because of the way T1 drafts and plays, but he doesn't have many of those truly 1v9 moments unlike the others. Even in these few games with Smash (who I'm sure we can all agree played very well, albeit not perfectly), I felt like I was watching a more Ruler / Viper-esque ADC, and that was refreshing. I don't know why Guma has filled this mostly supportive ADC role within the team. Perhaps it was because of Zeus'/Keria's playstyles, T1's view of the meta, or Guma's competitive champ pool. I also wonder if his tendency to get caught out (back when he first started), and the couple of bad games / performances on Zeri (and his less played ADCs) led to this consistency over limit testing playstyle. Maybe it was just that T1 needed the consistency, given the events of last year. Regardless, I think that with Smash as (probably) the only viable sub for the main roster, this is a great opportunity for him to change his style and improve his champion proficiency. I'd say it's likely what T1 needs the most, given the change to Doran, and I am confident Guma will do his best to fill that hypercarry role. As others have already said, this does feel quite Easyhoon / Faker-esque.
I believe it originally had a lot to do with Zeus, no? They pooled a lot more resources up to the topside of the map, and instead had Guma on the more "Backup" role.
@@strawberrysundaes which is crazy considering that Guma was once considered the prototype for what an extremely aggressive hyper carry should look like.. his draft report would have read: jinx, aphelios main with insane spacing, mechanics and lane domination playstyle that plays extremely far up in team fights to maximise dpm.. paired with Keria you had a hyperagressive 2v2 lane domination style that could take over teamfights... they went full ham on the lane domination with pivoting to double ranged where Guma often played a more supportive role because Keria was no longer peeling for him, nowadays he is an extremely solid, more well-rounded player but lacks the aggression some champs require...he has become the embodiment of a Jhin player, dancing in and out of the edge of fights, utilising the range advantage, creating picks (Cait, ashe, varus, maybe even xayah or lucian dashing in auto ult, back out, also play to these strengths)..he looks less and less comfortable in the centre of a fight...then again when was the last time a hyper carry won worlds
@@S3tsuna1 which part? Smash being a viable sub I agree, although that was more so due to his performance on the other team. Guma benefiting from this is just my personal hope though. Mindset aside, there are no guarantees.
Damn, I hope Caedrel co-streaming only a part of a banger series doesn’t become the norm.. I get that he’s busy with his team and watching LR is very exciting but I became a fan because of his co-streaming, looks like we’re gonna get fraction of the old content that we used to get.
Rocks up for his LCK debut and gets an MVP, absolute gigachad. Wish people would stop overreacting like they know absolutely everything about Guma & T1
Yo I would actually love to have more co-streams with the LR bois, the ones before that stage event with Bausi PR Nightmares was one of the best vids ever lmao
For anyone wondering why Rell dies so quickly here at 6:40, Kai'Sa has huge damage on her W and Q but the W is hard to land and the Q often gets dispersed onto minions. Poppy also needs an angle for her wall slam to do any damage. This means that Rell engaged in a TERRIBLE position which allowed Poppy to perfectly engage and for Kai'Sa to get the maximum amount of damage back onto Rell for 'free'. Surprisingly big misplay for players of this level.
Game 2 is the reason you have lane swaps. They nerfed adc sustain so its impossible to lane. They kinda tried to fix it by the changes to minion damage/speed so you cant stack 3 waves but its still not enough.
goodbye gumayusi, welcome smash. t1 need an ad carry that can carry the game by himself. guma has serious champion pool issues and has shown his lack of carrying. just keep going smash. faker bang to faker smash lets go
Smash played extremely well for his debut, and I wish all the best for him. That being said, I do not like how T1 is handling benching Guma. They claim they are just testing things out, but then why were they being so weird about it, announcing it last minute? I really hope this was just a one series thing. Gumyusi is my favorite player of all time, and if the real reason he got benched was due to not performing as well as he usually does in LCK or because haters demanded it, I'm gonna be so pissed
@@citydesign9073 but he didnt loose it they literally tried smash and helped giving a boost to gumayusi to be better at champs he usually doesnt play and put a spotlight on smash. like guma has even less excuses now to not get better at champs like ezrael and kaisa
You're delusional. The announcement was last minute but the decision was probably decided in scrims/before. Competition makes players like Guma get motivational and improve and if you claim to be Gumayusi to be your favorite player of all time, you should respect Kkoma's decision and just cheer Guma that he gets back in form. Stop blaming everything on T1.
I mean it is not a first for T1 to be trying out rosters and stuff, in fact ZOFGK was the product of the year long experiment before that and this is no different. A new format and being in the weaker group can let T1 find out how to deal with different situations and Smash brings some totally different picks such as ezereal and Kaisa, which are usually not in Guma's pool
These videos aren't showing up on my recommended :( I opened YT when I woke up to watch the games and they just weren't there had to manually pull up Caedrel's acc
My thoughts on Guma being subbed out was probably due to the meta. Ezreal was commonly pick nowadays. And we all know Ez wasnt the champion Guma wants to play.
That is what T1's been doing these years: Test comps and lose games to make other teams underrate them after MSI while teams would be hard to study T1 as they have been testing comps all the way up to worlds group stage. Then they start their real battle mode at Worlds and win games. Now, this is exactly what it supposes to happen with T1 losing a lot like hell at Winter and Spring. They will bounce back at Summer then wake up in Worlds. Riot can not even nerf T1 coz they never intend to win MSI, and reveal their true form after Riot made the Worlds patch. Pretty much it is the perfect strategy for T1 these years by doing it. Riot loves to see it like that as no one can blame them by not punishing T1 at Worlds patch while Riot is happy T1 wins Worlds. Mark my words, I think T1 will continue to do it this year.
As a T1 fan, I want to believe this is cope but on an objective POV it is quite a cope to say the least, becauae I do believe that T1 does face challenges, mostly internal
Not even a t1 fan but it's so funny how t1 stans are attacking the coaching staff with this decision. There is just absolutely no way they will bench guma (pretty much a superstar player with insane brand and fanbase) randomly just becaue they favor smash. T1's statement is sugarcoated when in reality the only reason why player gets subbed out is either they are sick or THEY ARE @SS in scrims.
These "t1 fans" are fake af. I see it in another way of reiginiting Guma's competitiveness to keep the spot for himself. A true fan would always support their team no matter what
